Pets in the Park The only pets allowed in the parks are domestic dogs and cats which must be controlled at all times and secured to a leash no longer than six feet. Pet owners must clean up after their animal(s) and must carry a device for this purpose. FALL 2013 City of Pickerington’s Disc Golf Course is located at 625 E. Columbus Street (SR 256), under the water tower. There is no charge to play the 18-hole par 65 facility and it is open for play year-round. Scorecards and pencils are available in the mailbox located west of the parking lot. Players must bring their own discs. Each session consists of instruction in each aspect of the game, participation in fun drills that are designed to teach fundamental skills to such young children, and low-key, non-competitive games. All coaching will be conducted by Jump Start Sports staff, but parents may assist (shin guards are required). This is an integrated science and math class. Students will learn a variety of concepts and apply their acquired knowledge about gearing and gear ratios, simple machines, problem solving, and communication skills, throughout this class. It incorporates samba, mambo, meringue, hip-hop, Bollywood, etc. Some upper body conditions is also included. The main goal of Zumba is to have fun while moving to easy-to-follow dance moves. It will burn calories and assist with weight loss. Bring water to drink and light hands weights are optional. CANCELLATION OF ACTIVITIES The Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel activities due to low enrollment. Decisions to offer activities are based upon pre-registration numbers and made 48-72 hours in advance of the start date. Register early to help avoid a cancelled or closed out activity. If class is cancelled or closed, you will receive a full refund in the form of a check; no cash refunds. Refunds take about 3 weeks. No refunds will be given after the start of the activity.
