-Our principalOur principal’s name is “Kanayama Masayuki.
He didn’t tell us how old he is. We think he is
54years old.
He said, “My motto is ‘Jichou gokei’ of course.”
‘Jichou gokei’ means treating myself carefully
and respecting the other person. And it’s our
school motto.
He thinks our school students are simple and
cheerful. But he wants us to become hard
workers and gentle. He also thinks our school has
two good points. One, keeping cleaned our
school buildings. Second, we are supported by
local people. His favorite place in Innnoshima is
here(Innoshima high school)! He likes to
exchange greetings with us. Every morning he
is here.
Beautiful school building
Our school building is light blue. It stands
for sea. It is very rare, because blue
building is perhaps only here. We think it
is refreshing.
This room is gym. Here are a lot of tool to
train our muscle. It is only a few schools in
Hiroshima that is fulfillment gym.
According to a teacher, when here was
North of Innnoshima high school,
the students made it as a work of art
before graduate from high school.
Now, it becomes a symbol of Innnoshima
high school.
The case of Fukushima Atomic Plant made us
reconsider about the safety of atomic energy. At the same
time, an atomic weapon should be discussed more.
See more on page 2.
At Innoshima Senior High School, we have three classes
and each student enjoys daily school lives. See more on
page 8.
Let’s Learn About Christine, our ALT!
Where is Christine from??
My name is Christine Elizabeth Sprague. I go by Chris or Christine. I was born in Beverly, MA in the USA. I grew up in a small town called Rowley.
Rowley has a population of around 5,500 (Innoshima has around 27,500). We are very far in the north, where we get a lot of snow in the winter.
Christine’s message
Each school year, we fight for the victory. Sports
Festival was held on June.
See more on page 9.
My family is made of my mother, father, brother, and now my
husband. My mother and father worked very hard to provide for
me and my younger brother. But, they also spent a lot of time
playing with us and teaching us. My brother’s name is Chuck; he is
two years younger than me. I have been with my husband, Ryan,
for six years. He joined our family for real when we got married two
and a half years ago in October.
When I got married, I was a college student at Salem State
University. My degree is in English and Secondary Education. I
have wanted to be a teacher since I was three years old. And, I have
wanted to work as an ALT since I was 11 years old. Now, I am
living my dream.
Outside of school and work, I have had many hobbies and
activities. When I was a student, I played softball for many years.
My favorite club was the Women’s Choir. We were the best singing
group in our state, in 2006. I graduated from high school in 2007
and the vice-president of the writer’s guild. I worked very hard at
my club activities. My favorite part of drama club was building and
Happy day!! We have had the sister school, Taiwan.

painting sets.
Now, I do archery and crafts. I love to crochet and sew. I like to make
hats and scarves as gifts for family and friends. In archery, I am just
staring. My husband’s family does archery and has a range in their yard.
Someday I hope to learn kyudou, as well as the European style I
currently use.
I am enjoying my life here in Japan. I hope to get know many students
well and participate in a lot of activities. Sadly, I have to leave in August.
Until then, I hope to continue having a lot of fun with everyone every
day.

About Nuclear Power
Atomic bomb
Atomic nuclei such as the uranium and plutonium
are nuclear weapons that explode it by the caused
nuclear fission reaction.
It has misgivings about danger according to
possession and the use of this arms all over the
world because the power of an atomic bomb is
indiscrimination and a large amount of Weapons of
mass destruction that are extremely large compared
with conventional arms, and slaughtered, and there
is movement restricted by Comprehensive Nuclear
Test Ban Treaty and Nuclear Nonproliferation
Treaty, etc. with other nuclear weapons now.
Nuclear power
Method of obtaining energy of obtaining by atomic
nucleus conversion or the energy
The atomic nucleus conversion was classified into
the nuclear decay and the atom nucleus reaction.
Moreover, the atom nucleus reaction is classified
into the atomic nucleus uniting reaction and the
atomic fission reaction.
The energy generated by the atom nucleus reaction
is greatly large compared with the energy
generated by the chemical reaction such as the
combustion of fossil fuels, and is said to be useful
as an energy resource.
Manhattan Project It was in the United States that
was able to promote the atomic bomb development
systematically in this age. The letter by which an
excellent scientist who emigrated in the United
States escaping from the Jew persecution of Nazis
in Germany that did the nuclear development at
that time in the United States at that time appealed
President Roosevelt obtaining of many descending
and the Leo [shira-do] of one person Einstein's
signature, and dangerous of nuclear possession and
the monopoly of Hitler was sent. It is assumed that
the atomic bomb development started with this.
This secret development project was called
Manhattan Project.
The voice to which the atomic bomb is opposite
will go up from the scientist who related to fear
[shi] and the atomic bomb development in the
world when the substance of the atomic bomb use
is clarified though the military authority was
pleased with the success of the atomic bomb.
Three non-nuclear principles
Three principles of Japanese Government "The
nuclear weapon is neither had, not made, and do
not bring it in".
The nuclear policy of Japan came to be discussed
at shore Cabinet that refrained from the security
treaty revision for 60 years. There is a nuclear
competition at the U.S.-Soviet cold war and the
cold war era in the background.
Two
items
concerning
possession
and
manufacturing a Japanese original nuclear weapon
of "The nuclear weapon is not had, and not made"
are legally prohibited by the agreement of the
Japan-U.S. nuclear power cooperation concluded
in 1955, the Atomic Energy Fundamental Law of
the domestic law that receives it, and the
ratification of International Atomic Energy Agency
and the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, etc.
However, there is no legal vigor in "The nuclear
weapon is not brought in" that is the last principle
of three non-nuclear principles because three
non-nuclear principles is not a law.
WILL OUR DREAM COME TRUE THAT WE CAN LIVE
WITHOUT NUCLEAR WEAPONS?
Various knowledge has been learnt about the
nuclear weapon, and have we why are born, and, to
begin with, why been assumed to be a problem
with the nuclear weapon up to now? Moreover,
by what approach has walking like nuclear weapon
[do] until present been traced?
The beginning of the nuclear weapon is in World
War II. At that time, fearing the nuclear weapons
drive of Nazis Germany, and having started up as a
state planning are the starts of an atomic bomb or
the nuclear weapon from the union country and the
president Franklin Roosevelt in the United States.
This is Manhattan Project. The atomic test was
executed for the first time for 16 days July, 1945 in
the world, and dropping to Nagasaki was done on
Hiroshima and August 9 August 6,
As a result, the effect of a nuclear material is well
known and it connects with the cold war. Meant "It
is hot" The war that why it is called the cold war
doesn't accompany it collides by military power
directly and the military engagement are said. The
cold war was done the world for two minutes,
conflicted by a capitalist camp (United States) and
a communist camp (Soviet federation), and
continued from 1945 to 1989.
The strategic nuclear forces bomb was reduced to
6000 or less between afterwards of the United
States and a Soviet federation between 1991 and
the end of 2009, and First Strategic Arms
Reduction Treaty that decreased the total of a
ballistic missile and the strategic bomber was
concluded. It starts as the president and the speech
for nuclear abolition was assumed to present
American President Barack Obama the end of that
year of doing talked about the agreement following
First Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty of the time
limit in the summit in Russia and the United States
on July.
Any country can manufacture the nuclear weapon
now though this is only a part to the end. The one
necessary for the nuclear weapon manufacturing
can actually manufacture a nuclear material, a
nuclear engineer, and the processing technology if
it three is. A present nuclear weapon diffusion
situation has India and North Korea, etc. besides
five countries that are the permanent members by
these as long as a certain constant capital exists
because it can obtain everything. Israel and Iran,
etc. are still more abundant an uncertain point as
the doubt.
In addition, because the demand for the nuclear
development decreased because of disarmament
after concluding the cold war, the place of the
research disappearing and flowing out outside the
country are the current states in a nuclear engineer.
As for a present nucleus, we should know fear of
the nuclear weapon or more by knowing the
current state of such the world though there is
necessarily not a peaceful use either. In addition,
the potential of the mis-operation and the
breakdown is always hidden in all equipment.
Safety etc. are impossible.
THE
GENBAKU DOME
In 1945, August 6th, an atomic bomb destroyed
the old structure of the Industry Encouragement
Center and made it into the ruins it is today.
Many people who wished for Japan’s peace raised
money for the construction of the structure.
Preserving the building forever surely reminds
us of this grievous act. At the moment when the
atomic bomb destroyed Hiroshima, this structure
did not fall down but killed the people who worked
there.
It escaped from collapsing because it was
directly under the explosion of the atomic bomb,
leaving the ruin of the structure. That is why it
was called “Genbaku dome.” Genbaku dome was
left there as a new monument of the ‘heart’ of
people who wish for world peace.
At 8:15, August 6th every year, Mayor of
Hiroshima appeals for world peace. The atomic
bomb dropped on Hiroshima killed about two
hundred thousand people. Among the victims
were young children and teachers who were with
them at that moment
In 1941, before the Second World War began,
Japanese government changed elementary schools
into national schools. The children who were
higher than third grade had to be separated from
those who were under third grade. In those days,
the children from the second grade to the seventh
grade had to go to school every day, and the eighth
grade students were forced to work in factories.
They became victims of the atomic bomb.
The teachers tried to save their pupils with their
own bodies. They held their pupils in their burnt
arms. They must have been desperate.
This monument was built by the Japan Union of
Accident Insurance on August 6th in 1965. One
of the atomic bomb’s victims wrote inscription on
it. The inscription is as follows: Why did we
have that day? Why does it still last? We shall
never forget. This monument shows the anger of
citizens who lost their family in the war.
Sarcophagus says “Please sleep peacefully. We’ll
never repeat the mistakes.” The mayor in those
days said ‘‘apologize to the victims, never make
the mistakes like this again. Just live in peace.”
The monument is based on this.

History of Windows
Today, why we can use Personal Computers
(PC) easily, operating systems (OS) like windows.
Without these, PCs would be a little difficult and
hard to approach for beginners, because there
would be no graphics, only text. I think the most
popular OS is Windows XP. However, its official
support ended in April this year. I will explain what
Windows XP is. The OS named “Windows XP”
has three models. The “Home Edition”,
“Professional” and Tablet PC Edition”. I will
explain the “Home Edition and Professional”.
First, “Home Edition” is the descendant of
Windows 9x Series like Windows 95, 98 and Me.
These OS have evolved taking over the
compatibility of applications. It is like that you to
only being able to play Play Station’s software in
Play Station “2”.
Second, “Professional” is direct antithesis of that.
This OS is one of being made to slough the weir of
conventional OS and come forward necessary
function and design. It is like that you can’t play
Nintendo 64’s software in Nintendo Game Cube.
This is the scion of Windows NT Series ―it is
ridiculous to label these OS as series― like
Windows NT 3.5 and Windows 2000. Actually,
these would be put together at Windows
2000 .Keeping compatibility, however, was very
difficult. So it was postponed until bringing out
next OS, but it might be good. PC was wonderfully
evolved putting together opposite OS. Windows
Vista trial version, brought out a couple years ago,
has found some problem; it was that some
traditional application wouldn’t up and run
normally. But now Windows Vista and Windows 7
and Windows 8 are on duty, too. Anyway, I’m
wondering which I should decide to use,
Traditional or New.
A STAP cell
Stimulus-triggered acquisition of pluripotency (also
known as STAP) is a possible phenomenon capable
of generating pluripotent stem cells by subjecting
ordinary cells to certain types of stress, such as the
application of a bacterial toxin, submersion in a
weak acid, or physical squeezing. The technique
gained prominence in January 2014 when research
by Haruko Obokata was published in Nature. Over
the following months, most scientists who tried to
duplicate her results failed and suspicion arose that
Obokata's results were due to error or fraud. An
investigation by her employer, RIKEN, was
launched. On 1 April 2014, RIKEN concluded that
Obokata had falsified data to obtain her results.

LINE USER and THE PROBLEM
LINE is accepted also in broad age.
71% of people in their teens use it. 81% of people
in their twenties also use it. It found that LINE used
by many a young generation’s people. Moreover,
their 30’s and their 40’s about 50% of people are
using it.
“LINE”
One person has a smart phone in five persons in the
world. The application which can be used with a
smart phone is living conveniently. An application
called LINE is raised as the example. After LINE
began distribution in 2011, the user exceeded 400
million people all over the world. What kind of
application is LINE which became popularity only in
three years?
LINE is the communication application of
correspondence with the smart phone, feature phone,
and personal computer which LINE, Inc. offers. A
telephone and the text chat can also carry out a chat
by two or more person for nothing.
If proven valid, STAP would be a radically simpler
method of stem cell generation than previously
researched methods as it requires neither nuclear
transfer nor the introduction of transcription
factors.
LINE is pervasive around the young people
Convenient ApplicationSoft
These reasons are raised as a reason through which
LINE spread.
・A chat is possible without starting of an application.

It is good that many generations use LINE.
However, it also becomes a problem.
The incidents which use LINE from 2012 are
occurring frequently and 90% of the woman of the
minor who suffered sex damage was using LINE.
In addition new bullying, such as diffusion of the
bullying video and photograph using it, has
occurred and Educational facilities are hurrying the
measure.
・It can know that the receiver read the chat.
・There is a various stamp which can express its
feeling directly.
・The past chat can be read immediately.
As mentioned above, it is thought that the facilities
which can perform smooth exchange and unique
feeling expression unlike e-mail are reasons.
Users will increase in number increasingly from
now on. And LINE will improve rather than now.
Probably, we have to consider using LINE more
carefully.

"Love" seems to be so easily the difficult existence
that is not available for you. I experience a thing
such as love sometimes in the past, but may be
shocked because I was different from one’s love to
image. I may say with “the young girl who is in
love” valuing development of the beautiful love
that I imaged by oneself. I should be able to meet
a true lover if I can bring up a heart felt more love
as a real thing.
B
Love for you is the same as air and water and
becomes person that I am essential to live.
Reception of the opposite sex is the all the more
best, too; of most, a game sense seems to enjoy
keeping company. I sometimes do lost love, but
pains at that time easily get well if the next partner
appears with a thing such as “lack of oxygen”. It
is not an at all thing named a philanderer, but it
seems to be a considerably person with much love.
C
You can seem to burn with a heart for love
somehow. When it thinks of a lover, there was it,
but it is the state that it is cool, and stares at the
opposite sex now when with that alone a chest
became hot with a tingle. I judge sense of values
of the partner selfishly, and “a man is light such a
thing” if he thinks that I am worthless when “a
woman is such a thing”. Any kind of partner
fades away from you in this.
D
Speaking frankly, you are still a child. Only as
for the love story of a girl loving love and a thing
to image even if I hear it and a wonderful boy.
Because there is a defenseless place for the
opposite sex, there can be a thing deceived to a
slightly cunning person.
Originally, as for
appearing, you of bright character recovered itself
immediately, and “oneself grew up in this”! I
play former one again while feeling it with”.

History of the Murakami Navy and festival
History of the Murakami Suign
Innoshima Island, an island located in the center of the Seto Inland Sea, where the
Murakami Suigun was active, was once a strategic marine transportation point. The
Murakami Suigun used to conduct trade with Korea, the Ming Dynasty of China, and
various other Southeast Asian nations between the 14th and 16th centuries. Its name
was well-known inside and outside Japan due to its power on the sea.But in the latter
half of the Warring States period, its power started to decline as regulations were issued
by authorities, and the scope of activity for the Murakami Suigun was reduced.
Sea Festival
The Sea Festival is the third phase of the three-part Suigun Festival. In the festival,
participants compete with each other, centering on the Kohaya Boat Race.
The boat race uses the wooden Kohaya boats that were used as messenger boats by the
Murakami Suigun.People at the site can experience rowing the boats between 12:00 and
13:00 on the sea.
What is Suign festival?
The Innoshima Suigun Festival is a festival that involves all the residents of the
Innoshima Island area. It recreates the Murakami Suigun, a local naval force active in
the Warring States period between the 14th and 16th centuries. The festival features
such events as a procession of samurai warriors in armor and a Kohaya boat race,
which is a race in the wooden boats that were once used by messengers. The festival
bears a close resemblance to the brave period when the suigun existed. The Innoshima
Suigun Festival is comprised of three parts: The Island Festival, the Fire Festival and
the Sea Festival.
Conventional festivals
Island Festival
The Island Festival is the first of the three-part festival. Thought of as the opening
event, this festival is held to pray for the success of the Suigun Festival and express
gratitude to our ancestors. A ritual to offer gratitude to our ancestors and a ceremony to
help ensure the festival’s success is held at Konrenji Temple, the family temple of the
Murakami Suigun.
Chorakumai Dance and Kohaya Boat
The Murakami Suigun used to beat drums when they made a triumphant return to
Innoshima Island after battles to establish peace. The rhythm of the drum is said to
have communicated victory and safety to the people on the island. At the sound, the
people on the island welcomed the returning suigun warriors with jumping and
dancing to celebrate the safety of the suigun..The dance was restored in 1992 and was
named as the Innoshima Murakami Suigun Chorakumai Dance.” A number of citizens
form dance teams with colleagues at local organizations and companies to enjoy
performing the rhythmical dance at the Chorakumai Dance Contest
Fire Festival
The second phase of the three-part Suigun Festival. It is the festival where you can
experience the excitement of watching and participating in such events as a gathering
of samurai warriors in armor and the Chorakumai Dance.A group of people, the
Suigun Chorakumai dancers and samurai warriors in armor, gather at a beach lit by
fire at night.Huge burning torches are carried around and fireworks are displayed at
the climax.Everyone at the site is welcome to perform the Chorakumai Dance at one
session.
Kohaya boats are small boats that were frequently used by the Murakami Suigun. It is said
that when ingenious strategies were devised, even the small boats were able to defeat war
ships. The boat was reproduced to conduct the boat race at the Sea Festival.A total of 16
people, 14 oarsmen, one boatman and one drummer, are aboard. The participating boats
compete on the 1.2 kilometer course.Over fifty teams participate every year. Starting in
early July, practices by the teams can be seen almost every day. With the sound of drums
coming from the boats on the sea, the scene has become a summer seasonal tradition of
Innoshima Island

Q:What happens in the story?
Three heroes were competing Kings position. Their names are Ryubi,
Sousou, and Sonken. They were very strong, so this battle was lasting
for a long time.
Where do you know
beans come from?
There are some opinions about the place of
origin soybean. Generally, they had been growing
beans in a large area in China from B.C.2000 years
ago. After that, also the beans telling with Korea
peninsula or Southeast Asia.
Soybean and Japanese tradition!

among one years in February. People shout at
that night, “Oniha soto, Fukuha uchi”, meaning
welcome the good luck and drive out evil spirit.
After that, people eat the beans the same as their
own ages.
Youkai(妖怪)
Yōkai (妖怪 literally demon, spirit, or monster?) are
a class of preternatural creatures in Japanese folklore
ranging from the evil oni (ogre) to the mischievous
kitsune (fox) or snow woman Yuki-onna. Some
possess part animal and part human features (e.g.
Kappa and Tengu). Yōkai generally have a sort of
spiritual or supernatural power. Yōkai that have the
ability to shape-shift are called obake. Japanese
folklorists and historians use yōkai as "supernatural or
unaccountable phenomena to their informants". In
the Edo period, many artists, such as Toriyama
Sekien, created a lot of yōkai inspired by folklore or
their own ideas, and in the present, not a few yōkai
created by them (e.g. Kameosa and Amikiri, see
below) are wrongly considered as being of legendary
origin.
From the 1960s on, manga
artist Shigeru Mizuki
popularized many types of
yōkai in his works
(e.g., the titular one-eyed
yōkai protagonist in Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro). Lafcadio
Hearn's collection of Japanese ghost stories entitled
Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Things
includes stories of yūrei and yōkai such as Yuki-onna.

1979, and became popular.
UNO was improved with new plastic cards
instead of paper cards and was easy to use.
Recently, there is automatic shufflers and

SPORTS
KING of SPORTS
PRO WRESTLING ― It is one of the most
wonderful sports and performed on the battlefield
called the ring, with a width of is 20 feet. In
Japan, Rikidozan, who had been a sumo wrestler,
started “the Japan Pro wrestling association” in
1953 , and familiarized pro wrestling .
The postwar Japanese was able to see him fight
against a foreigner with a karate chop, like a hero.
Pro wrestling was proud of great popularity.
Afterwards, Antonio Inoki and Giant Baba started a
new business “New Japanese pro wrestling” and
“All-Japan pro wrestling”. These two groups
worked at the spread of pro wrestling as a good
rival. And, Ishukakutogisen (different style of
martial arts) which invite Muhammad Ali , and an
entry of a foreign player (Hulk Hogan, The Funks,
Abdullah The Butcher etc...) made pro wrestling
more and more popular.
Afterwards, lots of pro wrestlers - Choshu Riki,
Fujinami Tatumi, Maeda Akira, Toukonsanjushi
( Chono, Muto , Hashimoto) and other players became central and supported the pro wrestling
world. And “Pro wrestling NOAH”, one of the
major groups, was started a new business by
Misawa Mitsuharu. Then, it seemed that the pro
wrestling world also expanded further.
However, booms of integrated combative sports
such as K-1 and PRIDE surge, and depression is a
current state in the pro wrestling popularity.
Therefore, the scale becomes small, and it is
bundled off to the corner.
As if it is done “Cobra Twist”, But pro wrestling
is a sport which gives many dreams. Don’t turn
off the right of such KING OF SPORTS. So, pro
wrestling has to go into action by full power
pretend to be wrestler at once. KING OF
SPORTS is PRO WRESTLING !!Do it now !!
Let’s shout !! 1.2.3.Da----------!!!!!!!! Thank you !!

The residents in this dormitory are supposed to join
any club activity. They have their own strict rules
and comply with these. They live orderly.
That means they are in the club almost every time.
The questions are followings.
1.What is happiness in the dormitory life?
The result was like this.
The Unknown Activity of Culture Clubs
“What is happiness in the dormitory life?” A lot
of answers in the question with are Movie Day.
Many of answers were events of the dormitory.
However, there was an opinion of homecoming in
the answer, too. It is a negative opinion. Let's
enjoy the dormitory life more.
2.What is a favorite meal at a dormitory?
Speaking of club activities, the activity in the
athletic club is outstanding, but I expose a focus to
the department of culture active and introduce
activity contents or the results. There are club
activities of thirteen cultures for Innoshima high
school, and there is it from the basic things such as
brass band club or industrial club where it is rare in
the other schools such as Igo and Syogi club,
cartoon film region. If there is a certain place every

an activity only for once a week is active eagerly.
Then it fades for the introduction of each part.

FOOD
Yamane Cafe
Let me introduce “Yamane Cafe”. It is located in
Mistunosyou. The cafe is not merely a stylish cafe,
but also a place to relax, such as the dining room.
The dishes of Yamane Café are so safe because
vegetables are grown up by the manager.
Characteristics of Yamane café is created through
the personality of the store manager. .He is so
manly and he has a service-centered approach to
running the cafe.
If you come to Innoshima, please visit this shop by
all means.
Toukaen
Let me introduce a popular Chinese restaurant in Innnoshima called “Toukaen”. It is in Habu in Innnoshima.
I’ll show you two kinds of dishes.
This restaurant the guest of regulars a lot, and the clerk is very kind and dishes are delicious.
First, I’ll show you “Ramen”.
This is a type of ramen which is called Onomichi ramen. Characteristic of Onomichi ramen is that the soup
has floating big back fat in a soy sauce base and the noodles are flat. It is very delicious.
Let me introduce “beef rice”. It’s my favorite
food. There is rice on vegetables tossed with
dressing, and roast beef on top. It’s big in volume
and delicious. Miso soup also comes when you
order the beef rice. The miso soup is also delicious.
There are some chemical-free vegetables made by
the store manager. Do you know “yuge-miso”? It’s
a kind of mugi-miso. The taste is sweeter than
aka-miso. This miso soup uses this yuge-miso.
The picture on the right is “omakase- suites set”.
Suites is determined by the whim of the store
manager. Such as tarts and roll cake, that comes out
as well. And ice cream or whipped cream is placed
on them. In addition, the drinks are pesticide-free.
After receiving the order, the manager makes
coffee from the coffee beans. The set is also very
popular on the menu.
We love OKONOMIYAKI
Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki is loved in
Hiroshima. It is no less tasty than Osaka style
Okonomiyaki that is well known in the whole
country. Compared with the Osaka style, wheat
meal is mixed with ingredients, Hiroshima style
piles various ingredients such as cabbage and soba
into layers. The following is a story about our love
for Okonomiyaki.
Talking of Hiroshima, it is famous for Hiroshima
style Okonomiyaki. Most people in Hiroshima like
Hiroshima style rather than Osaka style. Maybe...
One of the charms are the ingredients. You can put
any ingredients you like into Okonomiyaki, and we
think they are common between Osaka and
Hiroshima. We need at least cabbage, egg, and soba
and udon. Besides them, you can put anything such
as pork, shrimp, squid, and so on into
Okonomiyaki. Recently, it is popular among young
people to put corn, cheese, and baby star. You may
think they don’t match well with Okonomiyaki, but
unexpectedly they are good. In my opinion, I like
putting rice cake and kimchi.
For eating Okonomiyaki, sauce is one of the
important elements. In Hiroshima style, “Otafuku
sauce” is the most important. “Otafuku sauce” has
been made in Hiroshima and used through the
country and loved by many people. It is a kind of
like an idol in Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki. You
can have a tasty Okonomiyaki whatever you put in
it, because this
Sauce pulls them together. Without this sauce, we
can’t call it Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki.
Next I will introduce the A set meal. There are happosai, sweet and sour pork, rice, bananas, soup, fried
chicken, salad, and pickles in it. The price is about 1000 yen. I’m sure that ‘A’ set meal is very profitable.
Because it allows us enjoy eating many kinds of different food.
Whether you choose Hiroshima style or Osaka
style, you can enjoy sharing Okonomiyaki on the
same hot plate with your friends. And it may be
the best attractive in Okonomiyaki. Why don’t
you share Okonomiyaki with your friends? And I
know you’ll have a good time!
This picture is a meal which we call ‘A’ set meal. There is sweet and sour pork on the right. It was very
delicious. I love this dish a lot.
This is the A set meal. It’s recommended by the store manager. And the manager was very kind.
When I ordered this A set meal, I thought it would be brought to me much later. However, it was brought so
early in addition, they were all handmade. I was so surprised that I was surprised at the amount of food and
the quickness of the cooking. It had a very authentic taste very.
I recommend that you should go to this restaurant when you come to Innnoshima.
This is Toukaen.↓
Do you know “Innnoshima-Okonomiyaki”?
Usually there is soba in Okonomiyaki, but
Innnoshima-Okonomiyaki has udon. Why
Innnoshima-Okonomiyaki have udon? Because
there were many people in Innnoshima working
on building ships. So they wanted something
filling. So they began to put the noodles in
Okonomiyaki.
Now udon in Okonomiyaki is a very popular
ingredient.

Moreover, the students try something
rarefied like a saltatory movement.
There are many kinds of mechanical pencils.
For example, there are knock types, Dr. Grip and
many more. When we choose a mechanical pencil,
each person has different reasons for choosing their
pencil. Usability, design, price… The reason why
we choose a mechanical pencil is so different,
different for the many minds that think about it, but
those roots come from a certain common thought.
What is most important is whether we use it and
then we think it is "Good".
“Things which are useful do not get old.”
“Things of good design make us feel happy.” We
buy a mechanical pencil with individual feelings
about why we want it. And some makers of
mechanical pencils use this knowledge to be able
to sell a high-performance pencil cheaply.
Consumers make the standard and, in this search,
what kind of mechanical pencil do they buy? - the
makers must think about every possibility so that
they can "meet needs of their customers".
Many companies send many kinds of
mechanical pencils into the world. As for the
mechanical pencil which we use, basic structures
are the same, but different companies offer options
for various tastes. While there are many choices,
we consumers choose our pencils, thinking to
ourselves "This is a good pencil" heartily, and it is
the best to take into our hands.
So, the students take the classes not only to
enjoy some sports game but also to try
new thing.
Japanese
In CITRUS of sports, students try various
things.
The right article is about Sports.
What kind of mechanical pencil do you use?
Industry
We're producing items at this class. We'll design at
first And We make it using machine . It's sometimes
dangerous, but we pay attention to that. We believe that
we'll make good item.
For example, a student who plays Judo
since he was child showed some throwing
trick at presentation to tell the joy of Judo.
Beautiful View
.
These two pictures were taken at the same place.
We enjoy beautiful views from our school every
day. Especially winter is the most beautiful sky in a
year.
Where do you think this beautiful picture
taken? It was taken from our school at WC. Our
school has very beautiful views. I think there are
few schools that have such beautiful views. It’s
my favorite point of the Innoshima high school.
This picture is not from the Innoshima high
school. Not the view from Innoshima high
school, the views of the home from school is also
very beautiful.
I think that most of the students enjoy the view of
Innoshima.
This picture was taken on the another day.
Contrast of color of playground and the color of
the sky is exquisite.
GURUGURU SCHOOL
IN INNOSHIMA HIGH SCHOOL
November 10, 2014 in an interview "guruguru
school" of popular variety shows of Hiroshima TV
came to Innoshima high school!
A famous comedian, two people of "total Terborch"
came. They are tall and cool men. Of course, they
were very funny. Innoshima is very countryside. That
celebrities come to school is pretty unusual
. By the way, the champion of Yurukyara in
Innoshima, Hassakun came to Innoshima high
school. In addition, Hassakun is the 137th famous
in all over Japan.
Do you know "
total
Terborch"?
They are Japanese popular comedian. Their
conte and comic backchat is very funny. They
are called “Ability group comedian outstanding
of a young person”.
The left side of upper left picture is Mr. Omura.
The right side is Mr. Fujita.
We asked them about when they were high
school student. Mr.. Fujita played baseball in
full blast. Mr. Omura was playfully.

In this program, not only the
students but also PTAs participate
in it. The students divide up into
four teams(1st grade,2nd grade,
3rd grade, PTA team.) .
As we thought, PTA team was
very strong.
Maypole dance
This is girls’ program of 2nd grade. This is a kind of folk dance. They
knit lace of 2colors to “”. They used white, blue, and orange. These
colors mean Innoshima. Orange means hassaku, blue means Setouchi
sea, and White means jotyugiku. This combination of colors is very
beautiful. When the tune finished, the poles were costumed vivid
colors.
Class opposition relay.
First, representatives compete the time in same grade. Then, 1st class
students compete other grade. It gets into swing.
In”grade opposition”, the teachers also run with students.
Alpinist
This is boys’ competition. A boy shins up a pole and put a flag on the
top of the pole. In the
interim, the others support
the pole.
It looks hard to support
a pole. The anchor has
rainbow flag. So, when
anchors shine up,
people are very excited.
Students enjoying athletic meeting.
Mekariseto-watashi
This is like human chain. A student gets on other students’ back.
They play like this picture.
What’s Kaizokubushi?
Kaizokubushi is traditional dance of Innoshima.
It is very familiar to us, because many people who spend childhood there dance it in
athletic meet, Bon Festival and so on.
It is very easy to dance it, because there are simple choreographies and we only have
to repeat some times.
The feature of Kaizokubushi is a call “えんやとっとえんやとっとほほいやほほ
や“ .
September 27, the athletic meet was held.
Though we were concerned about typhoon, this year was also good
weather. And many people came to Innoshima high school. This
year’s theme was “Shine like the sun ~Go for the goal~”.
Students entered marching with
lines together, then they started it.
In Innoshima high school, it is
traditional that a student runs
having a torch and light a stand.
I think it can brace us up.
We enjoyed not only playing
competitions but also watching
their ones.
Some people yelled pals with
a large voice. Good points of
our athletic meet is that all
students compete without grade
relation. So, all competitions are
very exciting. As a result, 1st grade won this year.
Bring the day to a successful
conclusion
Costume contest is very funny program, because not students but
teachers costume and dance.
Its program is girls of 3rd grade’s show. They practice dance since one
month ago. Though it is difficult to practice dance, they enjoy it.
The rank is decided by audiences’ voting. So, they’re nervous until
know their rank.
This year also had very interesting costumes and performances.
Saltatory movement is most exciting program. It is boys of
3rd grade’s performance. It is orthodox program in Innoshima
high school.
They also practice
since one month ago.
At first, some students
can’t do it, but they
can do finally.
Moreover, some
students who
belonged to
gymnastics club
performances high
level jump.
There is jumping over some persons in performance. Some
students jump over 10 person at most. It is the most
monumental performance. When they jump, we are mortally.
But if it succeed,
We are very excited.

Can You See Our World?
What is Taiwan?-Let’s learn about Taiwan!History of Taiwan
In 2012, December 11, Innoshima high school
entered into the sister school agreement with New
Taipei Municipal An Kang High School which is in
Taiwan.
After that Some our school students exchange
email with some l students of An Kang High
School in English..
New Taipei Municipal An Kang High School is in
Shinpei city. (Taipei is adjoined) It is founded in
1980.There are 1809 students in the whole school. .
There has a Japanese class; so many students are
interested in Japan.
Then, in 2013, May, 28th, the students and the
principal of An Kang High School came to
Innoshima high school and we hold a welcome
reception.
Taiwan, an island of 23 million off China's southern coast, was ceded to
Japan in 1895 and governed as a Japanese colony until 1945. After 1945, a
brief period of U.S. military occupation followed. In 1949, Chiang
Kai-shek's Nationalist Party, which had governed China for decades and
attended post-war conferences as China's representatives, fled to Taiwan after
losing the civil war to the Communists. But Chiang insisted his Kuomintang
(KMT) or "Nationalist" party continued to represent the people of the
mainland. Washington and most of the Western powers that had been allied
with Chiang's government during the war against Japan affirmed that stance
by refusing to recognize the Communist government in Beijing.
General Information
In welcome reception, we received some present
from their principal.
And they had lunch with our school students of
International Exchange Committee.
After the lunch, they experienced sado, kado,
industrial training, cooking practice, art, and
calligraphy.

This year, the place where second year student
will go at the school trip is Taiwan.
It is 504meters high and has 101 floors.
The building ranked officially as the world's tallest
from 2004 until the opening of the Burj Khalifa in
Dubai in 2010. In July 2011, the building was
awarded LEED Platinum certification, the highest
award in the Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design (LEED) rating system and
became the tallest and largest green building in the
world.
Chiang's party, the KMT, defined itself as the alternative to Communist rule
and hoped one day to return to power in Beijing. However, Washington's
unwillingness to recognize the Communist government in Beijing began to
fray in 1971, when diplomacy during the Nixon administration led to
changes in U.S. policy that ultimately resulted in formal recognition of the
People's Republic of China in 1979.
Meanwhile, the KMT governed Taiwan from 1949 to 2000, often harshly,
under martial law. Discriminatory laws against Taiwanese who had inhabited
the island before 1949 and repression of political dissent was common. After
nearly forty years, martial law was lifted in 1987. The KMT has historically
seen Taiwan as a part of "One China" and does not support Taiwanese
independence. After 2000, the KMT often found itself in opposition to
parties representing Taiwanese who had been living on the island before
1949 and their descendants. But the KMT, ridden with its own internal
factionalism, remains powerful and strongly opposed to moves toward
independence for the island. The KMT won both the legislative and
presidential elections in 2008.
The KMT's chief rival, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), was
founded in 1986 to counter the KMT, and only became legal in 1989 after a
longtime ban on opposition parties was dropped. The DPP envisions Taiwan
as an independent nation, separate from China. Taiwanese sovereignty is the
first and most prominent issue on the party's platform.
The relation of Japan
and Taiwan
When the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami
happened, the president Mr. Ma Ying-jeou
Announced that he had relievers between stand and
send the contribution of 300,000 NT$ to Japan.
Then he announced that he increased a contribution
from 300,000 NT$ to 100 million NT$ (about 280
million yen in Japan).
More in March 14th, 2011, 28 relievers left SonShan
airport and planned to do rescue operation. Also,
they provided a lot of relief supplies for victims.
Then, a CM which made to appreciate Taiwan
support was broadcasted via television and Japanese
Government confer a decoration against 4 person s
who did contribution activity.
Though Taiwan and Japanese relation is
sometimes bad, I think it is friendly in the rough.
Mengjia Longshan Temple
The temple was built in Taipei in 1738 by settlers
from Fujian and was built for Buddhist, Taoist, and
folk deities such as Matsu., China. It served as a place
of worship and a gathering place for the Chinese
settlers. The temple has been destroyed either in full
or in part on numerous earthquakes and fires.
