Faith in Action
Dear friends,
Anyone thinking that faith is not a subject
that could get young people in a secular
environment excited was disabused of that
notion at the recent Nursing Congress in
Duisburg. You could have heard a pin drop
in the huge auditorium during the 30 minute Diospi Suyana presentation, and then
Diospi Suyana Reaches Hundreds of Thousands in Europe and South America
On March 10th Dr. John was interviewed at
the the ProChrist evangelistic outreach event
and the interview streamed to an audience
of 100,000 in 800 protestant and catholic
congregations throughout Europe. The founder of Diospi Suyana said that as long as he
was alive he wanted to cry out that there is

all about the miracles God did and the hope of
eternal life in Jesus Christ. The Diospi Suyana
story leads even agnostics to believe that God
is real.

is hope for everyone with God. The ProChrist offering came to over $100,000 for
the mission hospital. In the last week of March the Costa Rican TV station Enlace aired a
detailed interview with Dr. John throughout
South America. Hessian Radio station dedicated almost a half hour of its program

Ominous Holes in Brain
The Indio lady from Andahuaylas arrived at
the hospital visibly unwell at the beginning
of April. Headaches and spasms indicated a
serious illness and the CT scan of her brain
gave us an instant diagnosis: neurocystercosis – cysts had invaded normal brain tissue
in several places. The cause is usually pork
tapeworm larva that go through the walls of
the intestine and reach the
brain via the bloodstream.
We are hopeful that the
medication given to the
patient will be quick to
work.

Quite Simply Ingenious – Principal Found for School
There was great joy in Bad Zwischenahn
when on March 14th Ellen Nebel and
Dr. John of the Board of Diospi Suyana
officially welcomed Christian and Verena
Bigalke, both teachers from Wülfrath, as
new members of staff as they will be serving as principal of the Colegio Diospi Suyana for at least 5 years. For such a move
they of course need lots of faith – a fact

Dressed in Hand-Me-Downs
When Dr. Stephani arrived in Peru after a
long flight on March 11th, his suitcase was
lost – and no sooner did it turn up later than
it was immediately confiscated by Customs
- no one knew why. Without his own personal bits and pieces, the surgeon was saved
by the clinic´s clothing closet. The hand-medowns did not turn Matthias Stephani into
a fashion icon but at least he stayed warm
during his stay in Curahuasi. On the day of
his departure Customs
handed him his own
suitcase back.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the nora Co. in
Weinheim and particularly to Gilbert Gourdin,
who is responsible for the South American
market. Nora Systems Inc. will be providing
2000 sq.yds. of best quality floor covering for
the Diospi Suyana school as a sample, saving
Diospi Suyana almost $90,000. Nora´s partner
in Lima will be delivering and laying the flooring free of charge.
There is nobody like Pastor Bruno Spießwinkel
from Breklum in North Friesland. Following a presentation by Dr. John in the Lutherhof, the 86 year
old clergyman donated 3 of his own paintings to
the Diospi Suyana hospital. The beautiful works
of art show scenes from the New Testament.

Issue no 45 - May 2013
For many years the Church of the Nazarene in Gelnhausen has been doing jogging
marathons for a good cause. On May 9th
participants of all ages ran a total of 1,527
laps all together, with each lap being sponsored. The proceeds of almost $7,000 go to
the construction work on the Diospi Suyna
school. Many thanks to all the runners.
What Would Have Become of Me, if ...
Among the many thousands of people sitting
in the Colosseum in
Cusco there are some of
the staff from Diospi Suyana. When Jesús AdriJesús Adrian Romero
an Romero starts to sing
“Que sería de mi“, everyone gets to their feet and
sings along. Millions of people in South America
know this song off the radio. The Mexican sings of
what life without God would be like. “What would
have become of me, if you (God) had not found
me? Where would I be today, if you had not forgiven me? I would have nothing but emptiness in
my heart, just keeping going with no purpose or
goal in life, if it were not for your mercy and love!“
