Teddy Bear Donations

Child adoptions in the Hunt County courts
are a special time, and CASA for Hunt County
has a part in the process when the case
involves children that had been abused and/
or neglected.
November is National Adoption Awareness
Month. There are more than 100,000 children
and youth involved with the U.S. foster care
system waiting for permanent families.
CASA volunteers advocate for a safe,
permanent home for children who have been
removed from their homes due to abuse
or neglect. The end result may be that the
children’s parents’ rights are terminated by
the judge, and thus, the children seek a new
forever home with a new family.
At the adoptions throughout the year, CASA
for Hunt County provides each child with a
new teddy bear. These are a special gift to the
children, and also provide a cuddly focus for
the children during the adoption court hearing.
CASA for Hunt County is seeking teddy bear
donations. The teddy bears need to be new,
and between 7- and 12-inches in height. For
