Spring Prelude indoor garden and make your dreams come true.
The Spring Prelude indoor garden is a colourful and delightfully scented indoor
garden perfect for intimate wedding ceremonies and a champagne reception for up
to 60 guests. And, if you wish, let the festivities continue with an elegant, charming
dinner in the historical dining room of the former home of the Butchart family.

Wedding Policies
Wedding groups are only accepted between January 15
and March 31, and only wedding parties with confirmed
reservations will be permitted entry.
Site Inspection and Check- list
The wedding couple must complete The Butchart
Gardens’ wedding site inspection prior to booking.
To confirm your wedding, the package price must
be paid in full 3 months prior to wedding function.
Entertainment
We would be pleased to arrange entertainment for your
wedding. Please contact our Event Coordinator to make
arrangements.
All entertainment must be approved by The Butchart
Gardens 30 days in advance.
Entertainment and a dance floor affect seating capacities;
please contact our Event Coordinator for details.
As governed by the Copyright Act, all events with live
and/or recorded music shall be charged the applicable
SOCAN Music Federal licensee fee and Re: Sound tariffs.
Audiovisual and Decorations
Any requests for the use of technical, electrical or
audiovisual equipment along with draperies or
any other decorations for your wedding, must be
approved by The Butchart Gardens at least 30 days
in advance.
All decorations and signage must be free standing.
Signage or decorations may not be attached to any
walls, ceilings, plant material, trees or other Gardens’
property. All event set up and clean up will be
supervised by The Butchart Gardens staff.

Photos and the Gardens
Wedding Photos may be taken in the areas specified for
your booked package with the exception of “red zones”
which will be clearly pointed out on your site inspection.
The Butchart Gardens will be open to the public and
the wedding party must yield the right of way to other
visitors and not impede pathways.
Cancellation Policy
The Butchart Gardens requires a signed agreement a
minimum of 3 months prior to the wedding day. If a
wedding function is cancelled within 30 days, no refund
on the wedding package will be given. For cancellations
between 30 days and 4 days before the booking, an
additional charge of $10 per person will be charged in
addition to retaining the payment on the wedding
package. If the booking is cancelled within 3 business
days, full payment for the wedding event is required.
All costs incurred by The Gardens at your request will
be billed to you.
Payment
All services requested by the wedding party prior to the
wedding and any special requests the day of the event
will be invoiced upon completion of the event at
the quoted price. Payment methods accepted: cash,
traveler’s cheque, Visa, Mastercard and Discover card.
All prices are quoted in Canadian dollars. An exchange
rate will be calculated on the day of transaction.
Currency fluctuations may occur.

Food Services Policies
Admission to The Gardens
Admission to The Butchart Gardens is included in your
wedding package.
Menu & Wine Selection
Please contact our Event Coordinator to book and
confirm your reservation. Menu selections must be
arranged at least 2 weeks prior to your group’s arrival.
One menu is required for all guests, with the exception
of dietary or vegetarian requests.
All menu items and prices shown are subject to change
without notice; however, we will do our utmost to
provide 90 days notice where possible.
Wine selections must be arranged at least 2 weeks
prior to your function. For wines not found on our
wine list, please allow 5 weeks advance notice and we
will do our best to procure your requested selection.
Confirmation Policy
For Food Services, The Butchart Gardens requires
the number of guests attending your wedding
14 days prior to your function, with a final guaranteed
number 3 business days prior. If a guaranteed
number has not been received, the billing will be
prepared for the number of persons for which the
function was originally booked, or the attendance,
whichever is greater.
Service Charges & Taxes
All food and beverage is subject to a service charge,
except where noted.

All menu options include a choice of freshly brewed
coffee or tea.

Allergies
In the event any guests in your group have food
allergies, you shall inform us of the names and the
nature of their allergies, and you will be responsible for
pointing them out to us on the day of the reservation
so we can take the necessary precautions preparing and
serving their food. Any necessary dietary substitutions
must be communicated in writing a minimum of 3
business days prior to the reservation.
The Butchart Gardens endeavors to comply with all
allergy requests; however, under certain circumstances
we are unable to guarantee allergen-free food. Please
contact our Event Coordinator for more information.
Damages
The wedding couple is responsible for any damages to
The Butchart Gardens’ property by their guests, agents
or independent contractors acting on their behalf.
Flower Arrangements
Please note that all floral arrangements and centre pieces
from external suppliers must be approved in advance by
The Butchart Gardens.
Printed Menus
Safety
The safety of everyone is of paramount importance
to The Butchart Gardens and all special requests will
be considered with this in mind. Staff trained in
emergency first aid response are on site at all times.
Smoking
All areas of The Gardens are smoke free for the public
with the exception of two designated smoking areas
for the public; one in the bus lot patio and one in the
visitor car parking area.
Licensed Services
The Butchart Gardens as a ‘Serving it Right’
establishment reserves the right to refuse service
to any individual who appears to be intoxicated.
Cell Phones
In consideration of others, The Butchart Gardens
requests all guests please refrain from cellular phone
use while dining in any of our facilities.
The Butchart Gardens provides beautiful, custom
designed menu cards for any wedding function.
Please note we do not permit any wedding function
to produce their own printed menu cards.
