the woman who isn’t afraid to break the rules and follow her dreams
and deliver some wit and laughter to the people in her life!
who runs this crazy brand & podcast?
PERSIS SHANKER & RAVEN LIM
Persis and Raven are the founders of Tomboy Tarts and
co-hosts for the Tomboy Tirade podcast. Together, they have over 20 insane years as tv and fillm producers writing, editing and yes, directing
promos, reality, info-tainment, short films as well as lifestyle and travel shows and even commercials. This has been how they have
been paying their bills so far (and still do by the way). They met six years ago at the Asian arm of a global entertainment cable television
broadcaster, Sony Pictures Entertainment where they worked as producers. After attending countless music concerts that came into town, they both realised that
they were just two tomboys who wanted to celebrate their classic t-boy
spirit in true tomboy style!
persis & raven are also the weird meatballs who host this show!
When it comes to humour, the tomboy hosts of
the show, co-founders of Tomboy Tarts, Persis &
Raven, try to take as many creative risks as they
can. Sometimes to the point of idiocy, but that’s
OK - anything for a laugh, eh? It’s not slapstick humour all the time, there’s a lot of
surrealistic influences running through the tapestry of this
show. If it can be imagined, it can be executed. Influenced by great comedy from both sides of the Atlantic
from ‘The Golden Girls’ and ‘Big Bang Theory’ to ‘The
Mighty Boosh’, ‘Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace’ and ‘Black
Books’, the Tomboy Tarts sprinkle a little cinematic
storytelling to make this podcast something you haven’t
quite heard before.
