SWITCH EXPANSION
S5x8AGC-T DBS HUB

Multiple DBS switches are required at a single location
to serve multiple apartments or racks of receivers.
SOLUTION
S5x8AGC auto-gain hubs amplify and distribute (5)
DBS signals to up to (8) switches at -30 dBm over an
input window of -50 dBm to -25 dBm.
RELATED CONSIDERATIONS
The Hub is powered by the switch connected to the “red
insert” splitter ports. The hub may be locally powered.
A built-in dual DC splitter is used to split DC power to
multiple switches or other devices. Connecting a DC
supply to DC1 provides (4) DC outputs. Connecting a
DC supply to DC2 provides (4) DC outputs.

picture breakup. Too little signal and the drop distance
is limited.

Step 1: Power the LNBs with model 4SPI-20. Note
the 129º LNB output MUST go to port 4 of the hub
and port 4 of the DP44 switches.

verify signal on a receiver connected to the open
switch outputs.

Step 3: Connect the 24 volt power supply to the
DC1. Connect a jumper from a DC1 F port to port
(1) of the first DP44. Connect a jumper from a DC1
F port to port (1) of the second DP44. The first two
switches must receive power to keep signal flowing
to the third switch in cascade.
