About Our Guest Speaker—————-

JOSILYN DRAKE——-
Josilyn Drake is a woman who is passionate about
God. An amazingly gifted vocalist, Josilyn possesses a crystal clear soprano voice and has been
blessed with songs delivered to her straight from
Heaven. The psalmist, who has sung behind Gospel industry notables, is a dedicated worshiper
and her love for God is clearly apparent on her
forthcoming album called I Will Worship You,
scheduled for release in 2014.
The debut release from the singer/songwriter contains tunes of praise and worship to the Lord and
includes songs penned from the artist. The CD’s lead single, “Keep Us Lord”,
is a melodic and reverent track sung to God. Asking for the Lord’s protection and guidance, the song is perfect for those intimate times of worship
with God. Obviously gifted in writing heartfelt worship ballads, Josilyn also
includes the pretty and emotive “Worship You” on the CD. Necessitating
lifted hands, “Worship You” is another jewel that God lovers will enjoy from
Josilyn’s new record, I Will Worship You.
The completion of the new project is truly the work of the Lord in Josilyn’s
life. A natural introvert, moving from the background to center stage wasn’t
easy, but it’s been God who has consistently pushed her into the spotlight.
Raised in Birmingham, AL, Josilyn’s mother sang and music filled the
home. Her brothers and sisters sang as well and they even formed an ensemble. Singing at home ultimately resulted in singing in church choirs, a
role she relished. As a choir member, she was quite comfortable being part
of a group, but time and time again, somehow, she would end up being
cast as the lead vocalist.
It wasn’t until she took on the role of Praise & Worship Leader that she
realized she had been given something special. “I would minister through
song and the power of God would fall; people would be on their faces,” recalls Josilyn. “It was at that time that I began to understand the anointing
that God had placed on my life.” As she saw the move of God change people’s lives, the shyness left and she understood that it wasn’t about her,
but what God could do through her.
Her musical talents afforded her the opportunity to work with some of the
crème of the crop in Gospel music. While serving in the choir at her former
church home in Lithonia, Georgia, Josilyn had the opportunity to sit under
the leadership of Gospel notable, producer and songwriter extraordinaire
Kevin Bond. The choir often sang behind other popular artists such as William Murphy, Darwin Hobbs, Dottie Peoples, Gary Oliver and Darlene
McCoy. Josilyn felt honored to glean from a distance these anointed men
and women of God.
In 2011, during her personal time with the Lord, God began to give Josilyn
songs, confirming a word spoken over her life almost two decades before.
In the space of two months, she had received all the songs for the project,
I Will Worship You. The recording process was exciting for her. “I was
thrilled to be in the studio recording my own CD,” exclaims Josilyn.
“Although I had been in the studio before, it was wonderful to be there
working on my own music.”
In addition to being anointed for music
ministry, Josilyn has also been called to
the preaching ministry, which she has
been imparting for almost 20 years
now. The wife of Elder Terry Drake and
mother of Kennethia and Joshua is anticipating that those who hear the new
songs will be encouraged. She says, “I
pray that these songs leave a positive
influence in the earth. It’s truly an honor to be able to place something in the
atmosphere that I believe will bring
forth change in people’s lives.”

According to author Rich Brott, nothing happens in the economy of God until
you give something away. It is a universal law of God. Giving is the trigger for
God's financial miracles. When you give to the Kingdom of God, it will be given
back to you. We must do so in complete confidence that our God will not only
meet our needs, but allow us to have plenty left over so that we can joyfully
share it with others. When it comes to personal possessions, money and
wealth, you cannot take it with you but you CAN send it on ahead. Bottom line
is this: what you keep, you will lose, but what you give away, you will gain.
When you become a faithful tither and a generous giver you become an individual whom God can abundantly bless.
