CHECKLIST FOR PLANNING A WEDDING
- Professional partner: We are pleased with your decision to celebrate
your wedding at the hotel Goldener Berg in Oberlech. For an exclusive
offer, please contact us at the telephone number 0043-5583-22050 or by
e -mail at [email protected]. We will be happy to make you an offer
and discuss all further details with you personally.
- Registration at the registry office: The first step leads to your local
registrar's office at home, to which you have to announce your selected
registry office. The registry office on site will then authorize the chosen
registrar's office to perform the marriage ceremony. Put together the
documents you need for registration for the marriage and set fix deadlines
with your registrar's office on site for the submission and registration as
well as wedding ceremony.
- Church: If you are planning on a
church wedding, you should now deal
with the selection of a church. Make an
appointment and discuss the reservation
of the church and the progress of the
wedding ceremony with the pastor /
priest.
- Guest list: Once your wedding date is set the wedding preparation with
the family can start. Customize the first preliminary guest list. Please give
us a first name list for the accommodation of the wedding guests, so we
can email you a confirmation. If any guest is cancelling, please inform us
of any changes in number of rooms.
- Invitations: Announcements and invitations can now be ordered. We
are happy to take over the organization of the table and menu cards for
you.
- Important people: Are you concerned about any witnesses (only
Catholic wedding need witnesses), the groomsman and children for the
strewing of flowers

- Wish list: Prepare a wish list you give suggestions for gifts and lay them
out at home or in selected stores for your relatives and friends.
- Honeymoon: Hand in the request for a leave with your employer early
enough and plan a honeymoon.
- Rings and wedding dress: Buy or rent a wedding dress or a wedding
gown with matching accessories. Pick your rings and decide on a possible
engraving.
- Photographer: Arrange the appointment with a photographer. Here,
too, we offer you support and connect you with our experienced partners.
- Hair salon & spa: Select a hairdresser and
contact the salon directly. We would be also
happy to book a relaxing massage at the "Alpin
Spa" for the day of and after the wedding
ceremony. Of course, we can make an
appointment at the hairdresser for hair and
makeup for you.
- Transfer: Make sure that there are enough cars available for the
transfer of guests from the church to the wedding reception. We are
happy to reserve appropriate parking capacity. Still looking for a special
wedding car? We will be happy to advise and arrange a wedding limo or a
horse -drawn coach for your dream wedding as well as a shuttle bus for
your guests.
- Flowers: Plan your wedding bouquet, table decoration and possible
church decorations with a florist. We are happy to recommend a great
partner of ours.
- Music: book the music for your wedding reception or let us organize a
suitable music group or DJ

THE CIVIL WEDDING
For marriage the registry office offers weddings at our hotel, for example
on our sun terrace with a unique view over the Lech Mountains.
You can arrange an appointment to register your marriage by calling us at
0043 -5583 - 22050.
The dates can be assigned only upon registration.
Registration for marriage and documents: Please note that the registration
may take place no earlier than six months before the marriage. The
documents required for registration, vary in each case and are reported to
you by the registry office.
THE CHURCH WEDDING
Please note that the church wedding is without legal meaning and must
not take place before the civil ceremony. In the vicinity of our hotel, the

For each request we offer you the right way and the corresponding frame.
Choose one of our stylish rooms and we will decorate it for you.
Our PANORAMA RESTAURANT is ideal for your wedding reception in a
big way and has space for 150 people on two levels.
Over 100 years old JOHANNESSTÜBLI provides an exclusive setting for
your wedding celebration with up to 40 people.
Surrounded by the beautiful mountains of the Arlberg the restaurant
"ALTER GOLDENER BERG" sits here for more than 500 years of now.
This original Walser farmhouse has been lovingly restored by the family
Pfefferkorn and converted into a restaurant with 120 seats, and the
restaurant, now as before, presented entirely in wood. In 1432 the two
old rooms that are there to be admired even today, have been built. Our
sun terrace offers a breathtaking view over Lech and space for 150 people
for reception or a formal dinner in the open air for up to 100 people.
We will gladly advise you on a personal tour of the house and assist in the
selection of the premises.

WEDDING TRADITIONS
● „Polterabend“
True to the name "Rumble" all guests bring along porcelain or earthenware
which is smashed before entering the house. Evil spirits are driven out and
secure the happiness of the couple by this tradition. The more pieces, the
more happiness. Under no circumstances should glass be used to rumble,
as it is a symbol of bad luck. To prove that they are mastering in the future,
it is the job of the couple to sweep up an trash the pieces together.
● Bachelor party
Often, the bachelor party will be celebrated from the groom with his friends
before the „Polterabend“. Meanwhile, this custom is also taken by the bride
and her friends.
● Stork on the roof
The stork on the roof, often in combination with linen and baby clothes, is a
fertility custom and a unmistakeable but loving invitation to the bride and
groom to take care of the offspring.
● Throwing rice
When leaving the registry office or church all guests throw rice grains over
the wedding couple. This should also symbolize fertility.
● Bridal bouquet throwing
After the ceremony, the bride throws the bouquet into the crowd of gathered
female wedding guests (previously only virgins). The one who catches it, is
said to be the next marrying woman.
● Can clanking
Guests bring along empty tin cans, which are attached to a string and are
tied to the back of the bridal carriage so that when driving a loud clang is
announced: Here comes a newly married couple. Alternatively or
additionally, the bridal carriage is accompanied by a loud chorus of horns.

● Cutting the wedding cake
Cutting the wedding cake is one of the oldest traditions surrounding the
wedding. It is estimated that today's wedding cake is derived from a type
of cake that formed an important part of the wedding ceremony with the
Romans. Literally translated the wedding ceremony is a Confarreatio:
eating cake together. In England one started many centuries ago, to bake
many pies for every wedding. These were stacked to the form of a tower
and the couple had to try to kiss over the tower without overturning it.

BOOKING CONDITIONS
DEPOSIT
Room reservations are only valid with a written confirmation and with a
pre-payment of 50 % of the total room rate by credit card or a transaction
to our bank account within 15 days after reservation. For a confirmed
booking of your wedding celebration we allow ourselves to account 50 %
of the Menu price in advance.
CANCELLATION POLICIES
Should the number of rooms unexpectedly change (up to 5% of the
group) there will be no fees. In case of a cancellation of a confirmed room
reservation, there are the following conditions for group reservations:

until 15 days before arrival 50%
until 7 days before arrival 70%
from 6 days before arrival 90%
No Show 100%
In case you are cancelling later, do not show up or have to leave early, we
have to charge the full amount of your booking with the confirmed room
rate.
Changes have to be announced in written form.
LIST WITH NAMES
We kindly ask you to give us the Names of all your guests 3 weeks in
advance, the latest.
EXTRAS
Official hotel prices will be charged

Invoice
The bill will be closed with the day of your departure and has to be paid
within 14 days after departure.
All extras will be either charged to the paymaster or, if you with, to the
individual guest bills.

PARKING
In summer you have the possibility to use our own parking lots in front of
the hotel or the parking garage in Lech for free. In winter Oberlech is car
free and therefore only reachable by cable car. You can park your car in
the parking garage in Lech (Anger Garage) on the other side of the street
from the Oberlech Gondola, for 16 € per day.
DRESS CODE
The more clearly you define the theme of your celebration the easier it is
for your guest to chose their clothing. Traditional Austrian clothing is
always a great theme. If you wish black tie and evening gowns, please let
your guests know.
