YOUR Federation
QOF represents over 350 outfitters sharing a strong
attachment to the Quebec outdoors as well as a
desire to promote it to the public, province-wide and internationally.
Our vast tourism network enables a large offer of
accommodations and quality services across the province
for hunters and fishers, families wishing a nature holiday
or outdoor enthusiasts seeking the perfect place to enjoy
their favourite activities.

QOF intends to act as a facilitator, rallier and leader in
promoting and developing the “outfitter experience”. The
Federation is initiating strategies, actions and events that
aim to increase the notoriety of the outfitter destination,
the scope of the offer and the industry’s image, in the
perspective of developing better business practices:

1- EXPERIENCE OUTDOOR - VACATIONS
This experience proposes to the Europeen clients a true
nature escape to a Québec Outfitters. Packages put forward
can also be paired with outdoor activities and even fishing.
Interested outfitters meeting quality standards will tap
the European market by offering trips tailored to different
types of clients. They will also be called upon to take part
in targeted advertising placements in France.
Outfitters may also decide to present the most diverse
getaways, summer or winter activities for everyone that
will allow customers to experience the full range of outdoor
activities that can be available at an outfitter.

SALE & PROMOTION
Today, gift certificates are more popular than ever! Think
of customers happy to have the privilege to be able to
exchange their certificate at your establishment!
Gift certificates are available in our online store at www.quebecoutfitters.ca or by phone. QOF is responsible
for issuance and shipment to consumers.
Gift certificates are like cash and can be exchanged at all
participating outfitters. They are controlled and numbered
to prevent fraud.
QOF is contributing to their promotion via web banners,
advertising in the Guide de la pourvoirie and its newsletters
to the consumers.
Upon receiving it, the outfitter have to validate its total
value via his internet access code (provided by QOF). Once
the gift certificate is validated, QOF pays off the amount
by transfer via your banking information (provided when
you join the program).

There are no fees to join the program except the 3%
charges for administrative expenses, development and
promotion that is kept by the QOF on every amount
refund to your account (Ex: Gift Certificate $500 - 3% = $485 deposited in your banking account). Don’t wait and

It's a

This year the Outfitters Annual Convention will be held
in the Laurentides region (Manoir St-Sauveur-December
5-6-7 2012). On the agenda, conferences and workshops
conducted by industry professionals, debates and
discussions on hot topics and more!
All members are invited to attend this rendez-vous where
you will have the chance to exchange between outfitters and
also meet QOF employees, several industry representatives
and some of our associate members who will present their
products.

SERVICES AT THE CUTTING EDGE TECHNOLOGY
TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT!
To assist members in their relations with the various players
of the territory, to protect and enhance your territories, the
QOF has developed a Department of Forestry and Geomatic
with services at cutting edge of technology. Members of the
QOF can benefit from high quality services at low costs.
Various other specialized services may also be
available on request. All basic information and
advice services are free for members.

Several services related to the transmission of strategic information related to wildlife and the environment are offered for
free to the QOF members. When a member needs an individual service that requires several hours, an hourly fee applies.
This approach aims to make the actions of the QOF employees fair for everyone. This offer also depends on the availability
of the resources. Summer is the best time for this type of intervention. Ideally, these interventions should be planned in
advance. When possible, they may also be some financial support available.
The list of interventions concerned is:
• Lake study
• Statistical analysis of operations and recommendations;
• Analysis of potential development based on wildlife development;
• Expansion of territory;
• Wildlife management plan;
• Wildlife protection plan;
• Business Plan;
• Preparation of applications for financial assistance.
Take note that QOF capacity is limited for this type of intervention because the provincial and regional issues always take
priority over individual files.

PÊCHE EN HERBE
(Young sport fishers)
OBJECTIVE
FUNCTIONING
To introduce youngsters to fishing during special days
organized by wildlife organizations, conservation agencies,
schools and municipalities, etc.
Throughout the season, groups of youngster aged 9 to 12
are invited to spend a day at a participating outfitter where
they will learn fish biology, the basics of fishing and notions
of security. During the day, a fishing rod and a certificate
(valid until 18 years old) are given to each kid in order to
encourage them to go back fishing independently. The
activity is very popular and very effective in stimulating the
next generation.
