Who is Camp for?
Moorelands is located on Kawagama Lake, near Dorset,
Ontario, approximately 2 ½ hours north of Toronto. It is a
beautiful, natural setting with beaches and forests. The camp
is divided into separate Boys and Girls Ends. Privacy is ensured
for each gender. The dining hall, sports field, health centre
and activity areas are centrally located for all campers.
Moorelands Camp serves children and youth from Toronto
who are 8 years and in grade 3 to 14 years and in grade 8.
Campers should be ready for the experience of living in a
group and working together, learning about leadership
and having a break from the city for a week.
Activities
Our quality programs are based on and support Positive
Youth Development. Swimming, canoeing, kayaking, arts
& crafts, archery, sports and team building exercises are
some of the many activities and opportunities offered to
our campers. They choose 3 activities to focus on and build
skills. There is an adventure for every camper. With staff
supervision they enjoy a cookout or overnight campout
staying in a tent.
Please note: Some activities have skill or age restrictions.
Swimming skills are assessed on the first day of camp.
