Packages will be sold based on the current description sheets placed next to each item. Contents are sold as is. Please do not remove or relocate auction items. If you wish to look more closely at an item, please seek the assistance of auction staff or volunteers. Restrictions and expiration dates do apply on several auction items. Every effort has been made to indicate such on the auction descriptions as accurately as possible; however, the Foundation is not responsible for any restrictions omitted or not otherwise indicated by the donor or prizes not claimed within the scope of the restrictions or expiration dates. The auctioneer announces the item number and gives a brief description of the items in the package. 2) P lease honor the minimum bids. Each succeeding bid must be at least $10.00 higher than the last written bid. Any bid less than the stated minimum will not be honored. 3) To bid, please raise your bid number for acknowledgment by the auctioneer or ringmen. 3) T he last person who has a written bid – thus the highest bid – is declared the buyer. 4) The auctioneer will announce the final bid amount and buyer. 4) The three silent auction tables will close individually. Table One closes at 8:00 p.m., Table Two at 8:20 p.m. and Table Three at 8:40 p.m. The buyers’ bid numbers will be posted by each table section and by the cash out table approximately 15 minutes after each closing. 8 Payment and Sale Conditions Foundation News 2) P ayment in full is required at the conclusion of the auction event. The payment table will open at 8:30 p.m. Cash, check, MasterCard, Visa or Discover are the accepted methods of payment. The second phase of Ruan Plaza is finished on the south side of the William C. Knapp Varied Industries Building. This phase of the beautification project paved the gravel parking area, added trees and a dedicated sidewalk for better pedestrian flow. Hundreds of young exhibitors will enjoy the Youth Inn’s final phase of renovations this August. Replaced windows and improvements to the main floor and stage area are in addition to an enhanced kitchen facility. New landscaping and a parking lot will complete the north side of the building. 1) P ayment for all items purchased by the final bidder must be made at the conclusion of the auction event or before the bidder leaves the auction. There are often small but important projects that go unnoticed to the average Fairgoer. This year the bathrooms in the northwest corner of the William C. Knapp Varied Industries Building were upgraded with new fixtures and handicap accessibility. A storm in the 2000’s left the Administration Building with a damaged roof. The temporary fix served its purpose and a new roof has been installed. Additional windows were replaced in Pioneer Hall and the south entrance looks more like the renovated east entrance. 3) A ll sales are final. No exchanges or refunds are available unless disclaimer is mentioned in individual package. Merchandise is sold as is. 4) B uyers claim items by presenting a paid auction receipt to a silent or live auction assistant. 5) A uction packages are to be claimed the night of the auction. In the event you cannot remove your purchase, please make arrangements before leaving. Since its inception in 1993, the Blue Ribbon Foundation has been raising funds to renovate and restore the historic Iowa State Fairgrounds. More than $115 million has been generated to date, which has supported 40 major projects throughout the Fairgrounds. The Blue Ribbon Foundation’s annual Corndog Kickoff Benefit Auction and Fair Food Grazing Party has aided in raising these funds. The event has brought in $4.4 million since it began in 1997 and continues to help us work toward our goal of preserving our beautiful Iowa State Fairgrounds. Thanks to your support, the Foundation is able to continue its mission to ensure a bright Fair for future generations. 9 Silent Auction 1. The Greatest Show Around 4.
