Generally, lotteries are only legally operated by states, other governmental entities, or not -for-profit organizations. • Cardrooms: a gaming establishment that exclusively offers card games for play by the public; typically poker Industry Minimum Requirements • You must be 18 or 21 years of age — The minimum age requirements to work in a casino is age 18; however many casinos will require employees to be age 21. • You must have at least a high school education –Casinos usually require candidates to have a high school diploma or GED, however certain positions will require special skills and education. Industry Minimum Requirements • You must pass a thorough background check —Due to the large amounts of money handled in casinos, they are very strict about employee records. Employees must pass an extensive background check, including a background check and drug test. • You must obtain a gaming license — Casino workers (even those not working on the gaming floor) must be licensed by a state regulatory agency, such as a state casino control board or gaming commission. The application process includes providing photo identification, paying a fee, and filling out several forms.
