Situated 660m high at the entrance to the Gorges du
Verdon this site enjoys a stunning location right on the
Verdon river. You can launch inflatables and canoes
from an attractive beach where it is also deep enough
for swimming. The views of beautiful rocky mountains all
round and the wonderful cosmopolitan atmosphere
compensate for the small swimming pool and sanitary
block which is not quite up to standard. Although the
site is divided by a main road through the gorges, the
majority of pitches are all on the river side, with the
accommodation on the other. You are only a 5 minute
drive from Castellane and 1½ hours from the French
Riviera. Be wary as it can be very cool at night.

Pitches
Flat and laid out in irregular shaped alleys, ranging in size from
80m² - 100m². Marked out by a scattering of trees but not
divided by hedges. Premium Pitches over 100m² with 16amp
hook-up water and drainage with outdoor table, 6 chairs 2
sunloungers, parasol, refrigerator and gas barbecue

but swimming in river is recommended. Small sun terrace and
no sun loungers.
Activities on Site
Beach on river for swimming and boating. Trout fishing in the
Verdon. Sports pitch. Children's play area. Boules pitch. Indoor
games area with TV and library. Table tennis. From the site, a
trail leads to the pretty little village of Chasteuil (3km) and
crosses the GR4 which goes to Castellane in one direction and
Point Sublime in the other. A number of companies nearby
offer white water sports.
Entertainment
In July/August organised activities for the children, aquagym;
discos and shows in the evening.
Sanitary Facilities
One toilet block on river side of site and one on the mountain
side. The main one has been partially renovated but not to a
high standard. Most of the toilets are "a la turque" style and
many people use the more comfortable disabled facilities.
There is strange layout of showers, washbasins and toilets. The
showers have a hot and cold tap with hooks, shelf and rail.
There is a baby room and good disabled facilities. The block is
not well lit and there is a drainage problem by the washing up
sinks when facilities are under pressure. Chemical waste point.
Washing machines and tumble dryer.
Services
Reasonably well stocked shop. Bar/restaurant with take away
at entrance to site on edge of road which is open to public
open 1st May - 15th Sep. Fabulous views from terrace. Free
Wi-fi reception in bar area. Barbecues allowed. Dogs
accepted.Hire of individual safes and 80 litre fridges.

the reception: 8 Two bedroom Chalet/mobil 29m² with a 11m²
covered terrace for up to 5 persons. 5 Two bedroom chalets
25,50 m² with a 10 m² terrace for up to 5 persons. 8 Two
bedroom chalets 25,50 m² with a 10 m² terrace for up to 5
persons. 4 Two bedroom chalets 19,60 m² with a 5,30 m²
terrace for up to 5 persons. 5 One bedroom mini-chalets 11 m²
with a 4,40 m² covered terrace for 2/3 persons. Two bedroom
bungalows 36 m² with a 10 m² terrace for up to 6 persons. One
bedroom bungalows 21 m² with a 10m² terrace for up to 4
persons.

Directions
From A51 exit at junction 17 and take the D952 to La
Palud-sur-Verdon and Rougon. Continue towards Castellane on
the D952 and the campsite entance is on your right 3km after
the junction with the N955. From the A8 exit at junction 36 and
take the D1555 to Draguignan. Then take the D955 towards
Castellane. At Comps-sur-Artuby stay on the D955 towards
Moustiers Ste Marie and Les Gorges du Verdon. Turn right at
the junction with the D952 and the site entrance is on your
right after 3km.
