Selected as this Castels site lives and breathes the
American Wild West theme. Set out in pine trees
surrounded by fields full of horses, this is the perfect site
for fans of cowboy films and horse lovers. There is a
Wells Fargo station, a small shop pretending to sell
shotguns and an amazing stable complex at the
entrance to the site. The architecture and the onsite
entertainment all follow this same theme. You really feel
as though you are in a Wild West Show! The site is 400m
from Hourtin Lake.

rectangular pool, great for a swim. Small rectangular baby pool.

the City Marshall's Office. Horse riding: there are paddocks,
From Bordeaux. Take the D1215 from the riongroad towards
Lacanau. after 19km at Ste Helene turn right onto the D104 to
Carcans. At Carcans turn right onto the D3 to Hourtin. On
stables and a riding school. Fishing in the Chickasaw Lake.
Entertainment
American/Indian themed entertainment during the day and in
the evening, including learning how to look after horses,
listening to American Indian stories, making ropes and lassos,
learning about gold prospecting, and throwing tomahawks.
There is also a theme about Red Indian culture -their musical
instruments, creating teepees, and using leather to make
goods. There is an accompanied nature and Country Dance
Music evenings.
Sanitary Facilities
One unisex toilet block in the Village School, an American mid
west style building complete with clock tower. There are
pictures of American presidents and other American notables
from the wild west era on the walls and it is modern and well
maintained. Temperature control showers with washbasins,
hooks, shelves and rails Disabled facilities. Children's facilities
and baby room. Chemical disposal point.

In the General Store get your bread and other provisions. At P.
B. & Son’s get your oven bake pizzas. At the Ranch River bar
restaurant get your Texan/Mexican meals.

after 1km turn left again following signs to the campsite and
the entrance is on your left after 300m.
