In the following years the society sent many more students to this camp. Then six years ago under the guidance of musician instructor Gary Meggs the UofA at Monticello started a summer jazz camp program with many nationally know music clinicians to supervise this process. The results have been outstanding in aiding our Arkansas students to excel in the music field, many becoming instructors as well. The 2012 students are: Lakeside band director Jay Chipman recommended Zachary Seresinhe; Hot Springs band director John Jordan recommended William Staton, Greyson Teague, Adam Willis and Anthony Peterman; Bismarck band director Mike Copeland recommended Justin Richerson and Justin Schwartz. HSJS Board Director Ron Winecki has done an outstanding job of chairing this committee for two years. Contributing directly to the 2012 scholarship program are: Sam Green, Francis & Carl Gessler, Shirley Chauvin, Dee Oates, Rosemary & Ernst Nipper, Emma Watson, Carol Scholp, Bill & Debbie Beatty, Ron & Lynn Petti, Bob Andree & Lovie Roe. If you are interested in sponsoring a student for this program please contact Executive Director Gretchen Taylor, 501-627-2425. ~by Chauvin~ 2012JazzFest HOT SPRINGS SEPTEMBER 9 - 16 Sunday, September 9 Thursday, September 13 106th ARMY BAND ARKANSAS ARMY NATIONAL GUARD SHIRLEY CHAUVIN’S S’WONDERFUL with Surprise Festival Guests!
