Can you believe it? Thanks to the incredible cooperation and support from all of the
Denver area car clubs including Z Car Club of Colorado, Cerebral Palsy of Colorado
this year will celebrate the 24th Annual Exotic Sports Car Show and Concours d’
Elegance. Over $592,000 for Cerebral Palsy of Colorado’s children’s programs has
been raised.
The show is made possible through the joint efforts of Z Car Club of Colorado,
The Porsche Club of America/Rocky Mountain Region, Rocky Mountain Jaguar
Club, Ferrari Club of America-Rocky Mountain Region, Mercedes-Benz Club of
America Mile-High Section, Looking Glass Corvette Association, Rocky
Mountain 356 Porsche Club, NSX Club of America-Southwest Region, Rocky
Mountain Chapter-BMW Car Club of America, Mile High Chapter of S2KCA,
Classic Car Club of America-Colorado Region, Rocky Mountain Saab Club of
Colorado, Audi Car Club North America Rocky Mountain Chapter and Mile
High Rotary Club.
This year’s event is scheduled for Sunday, June 10, 2007 on the front lawn of
Arapahoe Community College, 5900 South Santa Fe Drive, in Littleton, Colorado. The
show is open to spectators from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., and awards will be presented at
2:00 p.m. This gala affair will feature the best and the most beautiful sports, exotic
and classic automobiles ranging from early classic and collector cars to vintage and
rare current models.
There are several ways our club can help to make this event an overwhelming
success. Participate by entering your Z car; you do not have to have your car judged,
you can enter your car for display only (registration form on page 8).
Or, just come on out and see the rare vintage, older models, and current automobiles.
For additional information call Larry Brooks at 720-488-0222.

Our May 2nd
General
Meeting highlighted Michael Csicsely, President of
Street Innovations, and his “tricked-out” Mitsubishi
Eclipse. Yes, I know it wasn’t a Z Car, but Michael was
able to describe the efforts he had put into his car, and
how they could be applicable to our Z Cars. After
listening to Michael describe his efforts, as well as future
plans for his car and his business, The members
adjourned to the parking lot to see the Mitsubishi
Eclipse. Other discussions took place with the cars on
hand, and everyone was able to enjoy the nice evening.
We will be targeting the months of June, July and
August to not have formal speakers for our General
Meetings. Instead, we will try to wrap up the Club
business and the 50/50 drawing within 45 minutes or so.
After that, we will continue to hang out in the parking lot
to talk cars, accessories, events and other topics.

Thanks to Nate and Cheryle Derman for hosting the First
Annual ZCCC Poker Run. The weather was perfect, we
were able to visit some of our vendors (Tynan’s Nissan,
Discount Tire, Elite Auto Glass and Bud’s Muffler) who
offer discounts to ZCCC, play a little poker and have a
great potluck lunch. Look for the details of the winners
(best and worst hands) and the losers (everyone else)
elsewhere in the newsletter.
Upcoming ZCCC events include: Tentative Tech
Session at Bud’s Muffler on June 9th; CSP Track Day on
June 16th. and the Annual ZCCC Picnic on June 30th.

Since I have volunteered my vehicle for the Detailer’s
Paradise Interior Tech Session, I have been making sure
we will have a challenge. Twice in the past week, my car
went one way and my coffee cup went another. We will
see what Nick recommends to remove coffee stains from
my interior.

In addition, ZCCC received word from MCCA that the
name of the new track for Byers, Colorado, is now
“High Plains Raceway”. We were also informed that the
new site is open for inspection, so we will try to
schedule a Saturday trip to visit it and see our investment
first hand. Watch for further details in the newsletter.
I look forward to seeing the ZCCC Members at the

phone calls and E-mails we were able to set up the track
event in the below listed manner. We apologize for any
problems this will cause but this was the best schedule
we could set up under the circumstances.
Saturday, June 16, 2007, Track Day
IMPORTANT TRACK DAY INFO -PLEASE READ
Mike Goddard & Roy Davis
Please understand that all concerned with the track event
will have to work together to make this event work. It is
an amended schedule, but we will be able to have the
track from about 1:00 PM till dark.
Just as I was putting the finishing touches on the article
for the June 16th track event, I received a distressing Email from the Colorado State Patrol canceling our
upcoming track event. In our dealings with CSP they
reserve the right to pull a confirmed track date if
necessary. This time there was a previous booking for
our date unknown to us (and forgotten by them) at the
time we confirmed the ZCCC date. The earlier
confirmed date is for a Special Olympics type event. It
had also been confirmed a couple of months ahead of
our date. Due to the change in command at the driving
center, the date was never properly recorded and we
were about to be bumped with no other track dates
available.
The most important thing: participants can help us –
be sure to have your car Tech’d before the June 16th
event.
We have set up the below indicated dates for tech at the
Bracken’s home at 2487 S Dover Way, Lakewood, CO,
80227. Home Phone: 303-969-9964
In an effort to compensate all drivers, due to the
unfortunate schedule change, ZCCC will reduce our
track fees to $45.00 for members and $55.00 for nonmembers. We will also have a never-ever-been-ontrack-before-fee for Z Car Club members of $20.00.
The track committee had already gone to a lot of work to
set the upcoming event up with a special added
attraction, and we were about to lose our June 16th track
date. Never fear! We have managed to salvage a
significant portion of the day.

1st Annual Poker Run Recap
Nate and Cheryle Derman
Nineteen people and 11 cars attended our 1st Annual
Poker Run on May 19, 2007. The weather was perfect
and the vendors were very gracious. We started out at
Tynan's for our first draw, donuts and coffee. We
proceeded to Discount Tire in Northglenn. Paul
provided water and sodas and a tent to keep us shaded
while we drew our second card. Our third card was
drawn at Elite Auto Glass up the boulevard. We then
visited Mike over at Bud's Muffler. This store is not
open on the weekends. Mike opened the store just for
our poker run. Thank you, Mike. Way to go! We
took time out for a group picture before leaving with all
of the Zs and attendees then went back to Tynan's for
our last card draw and lunch.
The Poker Run raised $190.00 of which $50 was given
back to the club. Cheryle Derman won the best hand,
second best hand was Bob Carlson, Nate got third best
hand. President Ken Cressman won worst hand and
Dallas McCafferty won second worst hand. Two
cash prizes were awarded and three door prizes were
awarded courtesy of Jay Kettering and Tynan's.
Everyone had a great time. Thank you all
attended. A special thanks to our fine vendors
donated their time and space for this event. We
forward to the Second Annual ZCCC Poker
next year.
