Woodford Valley Chippenham National Trust Grade 1 listed, Ye Halle of John Halle was built circa 1470 in the Tudor Gothic style, and was originally the home of a wealthy wool merchant. The mock Tudor façade was added in 1834. It became a cinema in 1937, and today has five screens. It is thought to be the oldest building in the world to permanently house a cinema.
