Contact Scott at camp@ tucsonjcc.org. Page 2 • JCC Center View • March 2012 New Sports & Wellness Director Liz Lambert joins the J as the Director of Sports and Wellness. Liz comes us most recently from Stanford University where she served as the Administrative Director of the Center for the Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences. Prior to moving to Palo Alto, she was the Assistant Dean for Social Science at Harvard University. In addition to her academic administration experience, Liz spent eight years in coaching and athletic/ recreational administration at the U.S. Naval Academy, Simmons College, Boston University and Harvard University. When visiting family in Tucson, Liz has been a guest of the JCC over the last 13 years. “I always felt welcomed at the TJCC and I was intrigued when told about the vacancy in the Sports & Wellness Department. Accepting this position is like coming home for me. I have come home to my passion for sports and wellness and I have come home to family.” A long time athlete, Liz was a varsity swimmer and rower at Stanford University. She played squash for ten years before turning to her new passion for competitive Latin dance sport. One of her first goals as the new director, is to sample each one of the JCC’s 100 group exercise classes. Have thoughts or concerns? Liz would love to hear from you. In his honor, Bob’s family has set up a special Bob Polinsky Memorial Fund that will go toward something Bob lovedthe Tucson International Jewish Film Festival.
