A MONTH OF UNDERWATER FUN
In January, the kids have been studying about “under the
water life”.
They read Fishy Tales, which helps them
understand how different sea creatures live. With this story
the kids pretended to go fishing with real poles and bobbers.
They also had a sink/ float lab and observed “real live fish”.
They also read A House for Hermit. This was a story about
underwater life but also presented the kids a message about
“growing up”. With the story we made a box town and built
different businesses and role played being the customers
5 SENSES
The infant class has been learning and exploring their
“5 Senses”. They got to marker and paint with their
hands. Some liked this better than others. They read
stories feeling the animals and hearing the sounds
these animals make. They enjoyed exploring jello and
tasting it. But as always the favorite of both teacher
and children was music. These kids love dancing to
music which always brings a smile to the teachers
face.

EARLY OUT FUN
The afterschool kids had a few early dismissal days in
January. During these days the kids did a winter unit. They
made homemade play dough snowman, snow cones and
snow globes. The favorite was probably the snow cones.

These kids also got the chance to join the
preschoolers at the children’s museum.
