If you haven’t been to Triple Creek in the past few weeks, you haven’t seen our new
sign. This beautiful object was conceived and developed by our work campers Gary
and his wife Dorsianne Secrest. They are shown standing here with their great accomplishment. Our other work camper John & Christine Straight were also part of this
major accomplishment. The donor tree came from here at Triple Creek. It was one of
the trees that died due to last years drought.
Thanks for making our place even better !

Triple Creek Jam Shack needs your help. Just like everyone
else, we are being affected by the hard economic times. It has
always been a balancing act to keep Triple Creek Jam Shack
going in the black, but in recent months the balance hasn’t been
so good. The crowds have been good, the shows have been
great, the jams have been good, but the balance sheet has been
out of balance.
Like that cup of coffee? Enjoy the lights being on whenever
you need them to be? Like to have the kitchen available? Your
donations are what keeps the Jam Shack going. Donate to the
Pink Pig when you can.
Our group Kenny and Mary on stage.

enjoy the event, and if
you would like to try
your hand at it, we can
arrange to loan you some equipment. We also have several experienced cooks that are more than willing to show the beginner how to turn up the heat.
Cookouts were held on March 24 AND March 31!!! Join us for more

Beginners welcome, as we will have experienced staff on hand to help

Well, its April 1st, and virtually all
the Winter Texans have left home
(Triple Creek, Texas). One by one
they pulled out, and have left us
nothing but good times and
memories.
Most of them will start arriving
back here around October 1st and
by November 1st, our entire extended family should be back. We
miss all of you that have left.
Every weekend the phone starts ringing. We have the same questions, and here are the typical
conversations that occur weekend after weekend:
Q—Are you having music this weekend?
A—This is Triple Creek, we have music EVERY weekend of the year, including all holidays.
Q—What time do you start playing?
A—We have our pot luck supper at 5:00 and we usually start playing around 6:00 when everyone is finished eating.
Q—Well, who is going to be there this weekend?
A—We never know who is coming, but there is always a group, and we always have fun.
Q—What is the charge to get in?
A—Just a smile on your face. We don’t charge...

St. Patrick's Day
If you weren’t here on Saint Patrick's day, you missed a great
event. As you see, people were wearing green, but a bigger
surprise was a visit from this Scottish man. Actually, this is
our visiting couple John and Christine.
The day was eventful to say the least.
John is practicing his bagpipes and
will be ready for next year. Come join
us.
The Road to Triple Creek
Most of you know that the
road to Triple Creek is only
three miles long. This road is a
private road, and has been
maintained all these years by
Triple Creek.
On any day, you can see all
types of wildlife on this road.
We even have a pair of residence Road Runners that frequently make their path across
the road in front of you.
Then there are the deer that
are also along the road. There
are three deer in particular that
stay close. Karen and others
6
have named them Kukla, Fran
and Ollie. These three are
often on the side of the road,
particularly in the afternoon,
and simply lift their heads as
people come and go.
Some folk have seen a badger
making its way down the road.
Every once in a while, a snake
is spotted.
There has even been a deer
that has obviously escaped
from one of these exotic hunting ranches roaming around.
It looks like a deer, but its red
and has a little more hair.
Drive slow down the road,
and appreciate the beauty
of the environment. Although you can’t see it,
there are very deep canyons
on either side of the road.
Its because of these deep
canyons that the road
winds so much. Its hard to
imagine canyons existing
around here, but if you ever
get out and walk, there are
plenty of sights to be seen.
Just ask us about where to
go, and what to see. There
is plenty within walking
distance of Triple Creek.

Triple Creek “LIVE” on KWUD radio.
Radio has often been considered one of the most personal forms of media. It brings the business to the people
right in the comfort of their very own homes.
Karen is now talking on KWUD radio every Friday morning between 8:30 - 9:00 am. We’re trying to get the
word out about all the good things going on at Triple Creek & the existence of Bluegrass music.. She might even
ask you to join her and play some music on the air! Thanks to Oscar Lyons, Charles Glenn, and Dean
Bartholomew for doing that very thing on the Friday before Thanksgiving! More recently she has been joined by
Chuck Schultz, as well as Tommy Ferrell!
Karen talks about the specific instrumentation, and how Bluegrass has a distinguishing characteristic of featuring
two, three, or four parts harmony. Unlike mainstream country music, bluegrass is traditionally played on acoustic
stringed instruments. The fiddle, five-string banjo, guitar, mandolin, and upright bass are often joined by the
resonator guitar (also referred to as a Dobro) and harmonica.
We hope

Alvin’s Blue
show up on
Charles, our resident photographer was out one evening and snapped a
picture of our friends around their camp fire. Upon further examination
of the fire, Charles
snapped this intriguing
shot. If you look it it,
you can imagine almost anything in this
fiery image.
Many thanks to the fine folk for having this camp fire, as they
were actually burning a stump that needed to be removed.
Obviously the spirit of the stump was captured in this shot.
Johns Jeep Gilts him!
Here at Triple Creek, we all do things together. We eat together, we play together, and we work together. If you haven’t
experienced it, we are one big family. John was out in his jeep
when it just quit on him when he was deep in a mud bog.
Lucky for him Ol’ Dudley was quick with the tractor and tow
chain.
The problem was quickly diagnosed, fixed and is back on the
road again….but the tractor is handy, just in case.

These logs were cut and
will soon be benches in the
“Jelly Shack”.
You all know we have the
very popular “Jam Shack”.
Well, the new building is
smaller, but related, so it
has received the name of
the name of the “Jelly
Shack”. This new building
has slowly been under construction, and is located
next to Ms Ethel’s house. Its going to be a great place for outside jamming and cooking.
Here is a picture snapped by our resident photographer
Charles. Pictured is the camp kid “Bubba”. Of course we
all know Ms Ethel as she is a long time resident of Triple
Creek.
Of course this picture was shot here in Triple Creek.
Jean has got cha’ thinking.
Have you ever wondered how
a professional photographer
can capture the essence of
what’s going on? Our very
own camper Jean shot this
picture of the maintainer. I
just love the debt and thought
that comes out of this. Now
this isn’t a simple point and
shoot picture. I asked Jean
how he did it, and it took 30
minutes to explain his method
for double exposure, and I still
don’t understand what he did.
All I know is that its really a cool pic! Thanks Jean. I have a copy of this in the house.

Nature Trail
The recent hurricanes destroyed the bridges on the nature trail that runs behind
the Jam Shack. As a result, the trails have been in neglect and haven’t been
used….UNTIL NOW.
Thanks to the great work of both Gary and John, the nature trail will once again
be ready for guests. They are doing a great job of cleaning it up and getting it
ready. The new bridges are going to be much bigger and better able to withstand
any surges of water that may come as a result of harsh weather.
The new bridges are being constructed out of large utility poles with supports on
both ends. We wouldn’t be surprised if they end up with some type of suspension on them before they are finished.
Be sure to thank John and Gary for their contribution to Triple Creek. The nature trail will be there long after they are gone.
By the way, the original nature trail was made by Tolly & Connie. Thanks to
them.
Always remember that we
have two 40’ Park Models
(mobile homes) available
for long or short term
rental. They are perfect
for a Snowbird, or
someone needing
temporary housing.
Come live with us at Triple
Creek.
You can thank the work
campers for all that they
do as well! They are all
a big help to keep Triple
Creek RV the wonderful
place we all enjoy…
THANKS!
Our Favorite Native:
People often ask, so here is the answer. Yes, we do have spots available on our hunting lease. If your interested, talk to Karen, and she will give you all the details. Of
course the biggest advantage of hunting here is that you get to camp at Triple Creek,
Texas where you will incur all the comforts of home and then even more. Just remember those wonderful Hunters breakfasts that Ms Audrey makes so very early to
get you a great meal

Spots don’t open very
often, so take advantage of this opportunity NOW.

We would like feedback and Bluegrass articles from our readers. Tidbits or article(s) can be: an amusing
quote; reviews of festivals or music conventions; behind the
scenes reports of bands; technical;
RV & campground reviews; or
anything you feel would be of
interest to Bluegrass enthusiasts. Articles
may span more than one issue, and full
credit will be given.
Dale Mitchell—I have a luthier buddy in
Houston who is also a astrophotographer.
He has a telescope and camera setup in his
back yard that cost a bundle! I`ve attached
one of the pics he sent today. Its a nebula
that he says is pretty close . Only about
13,000 light years away! If you run out of
things to do here`s another hobby!
David Turns A Green Thumb.
Things are just bigger and better here at Triple Creek. David put
this onion in a glass and watered with our wonderful well water.
Just look at the results. David is so proud of his horticulture experience, he is planting a few tomatoes around the place.
By the way, for those of you that don’t know, David is the person
that maintains the road. Please thank you when you see him. By
the way, David does a far better job on the road than Marc does,
thank David for convincing Marc to stop “working” on the road.
so
Karen’s Husband Marc.
Occasionally, Karen’s husband Marc is around Triple Creek on weekends. Usually he is off working, but occasionally he is here and is often greeted by the saying, “Oh, you’re the husband”. Well for those
of you that don’t know, here is a picture of Marc. He is a very serious
kind of guy. This picture was captured when Marc was at work on
Halloween day.
We’re sure that if you can see through those sad puppy eyes, you’ll see
a very serious engineer. Marc actually travels world wide teaching and
implementing metallurgical engineering.

Original Bass
This is the tub bass that Karen saw while traveling in New York State. It is the basic model. Moving the
"pump handle" up and down is what gives the bass the different pitches. The neck of this fine instrument is
short enough to allow you to set down and play. This item comes in a cardboard box ready for your assembly, which is pretty much straight forward.
If you are interested in purchasing such a refined instrument such as this, contact Karen , and she will tell you
all the details.
Deluxe Model
This is the model that Karen has for herself. It can be seen in action here at the Creek almost any time there
is music played.

BINGO
Are you interested in playing BINGO? We host a “White
Elephant” BINGO every Monday evening. Just bring any
White Elephant that you have laying around and donate as a
prize. Its not only a great way to have fun, but its also a
wonderful way to get rid of those little things around the
house that just need to go.
Tommy provides Church services
Church services are now being conducted in the Jam
Shack by our very own resident Tommy Ferrell. Tommy
just started living here in the park, and we have asked
him to provide us with a church service. He very graciously has accepted. He’s a wonderful musician, and
uses his voice and music to spread the Lords word.
Please come join us for church service on Sunday at
10:30.
Back to you Brother Pete!
They come from everywhere to play the big stage at Triple Creek RV. What
a good time people have when we get to listen to people like this up on stage
having a good time.
Ya’ll come back ya’ here !
Triple Creek’s Work campers John & Christine.
These two came in for a weekend, and now are staying on as
Work campers. They have already been part of almost everything going on, and certainly do fit in. You’ll love Christine, as
her email address is Loves2cook. Now what does that tell you
about her?
John and Christine left Triple Creek on April 1st, but we will all
be looking for them to be back home here at Triple Creek
around November 1st. They have promised to write while they’re gone.!
John and Christine are great cookers with the Dutch Oven.

Ol’ Dudley goes national.
It all started here at Triple Creek with Ms Audrey cooking for
her Dudley. Now this famous breakfast filled with homemade
biscuits and gravy has hit the big time. We don’t know if its her
eggs, bacon or potatoes that put it over the top, but it’s a wonderful meal.
People come from everywhere and carry the fame of Triple
Creek to the four corners of the world. Its really great being
part of this life style.
Please contribute to Ol’ Dudley Day so this wonderful tradition can continue.

$$$$$$ Notice of Change to Camping Rates $$$$$$$
Starting April 1st we will have a rate increase for camping. Everything continues to increase, and
we have maintained our low, low camping rates for the past 5 years. We greatly appreciate those
people that help us with the chores around here that let us provide affordable camping rates to all
our friends and visitors.
Here is what the changes are going to look like:
 Nightly rates will increase from the current $18/$20 to $20/$22. This is for 30 and 50 amp ser-
vice respectively.
 Weekly rates will increase $10/month to $100 and $120.
 “Camp & Store” rate will be $135/month + electricity.
 Full-time monthly rate will NOT change. It will remain at a thrifty $200/month + electricity.
Remember that the cost for electricity is passed along for the exact price that we pay for it.
VETERANS DAY
In honor of our many veterans, we will reduce your weekend fee by 50% on that weekend.
Camping Discounts—After the last Newsletter went out, we had a request for
camping discounts. Well, Triple Creek RV does offer four (4) different discount club
memberships. Not only that, but we will give your camping club a discount if you
have a rally at TCRV for 10 or more rigs.
If you have a suggestion for a specific monthly discount, just let us know, and we
may try it. We appreciate your ideas.

16
Remember our friends Rob and Tonya that were here at Triple Creek through the winter? Well, if you recall, they left here on the way to Mexico. With all the unrest at the
border, we were all worried about them. However, they are back in the states now.
They have even sent us a few pictures to show us how “rough” they had it on their
trip. These friends have not set a date for when they will be back here at Triple Creek.
17
Music by Charles Glenn
For the next three months, we will be featuring the words to songs that can be heard only at Triple
Creek. It’s a little known fact that when the time is right, the crowd is gone, and the mood hits him,
Charles Glenn will sing these very funny songs. Please encourage him to come out of the card room
and entertain us with songs such as the following.
18
Guilty
Just look at these three. They are up to
something no good. We caught them in the
act. They would huddle around each other
with those long needles. We’re not sure what
they were doing, but we know with a guilty
look like this, they were certainly up to no
good.
We miss all of you and look forward to your
return.
Marc is selling his Harley. FOR SALE
At 58 years old, Marc has decided that riding this
Harley is a little too sporty for him. He likes riding his
other “old man” Harley that has three wheels under it.
Karen had this motorcycle custom painted shortly
after we bought it. We put it in car shows along with
her jeep with a matching paint job and ALWAYS won
BEST IN SHOW.!
WOW!
If you haven’t been in the
“Toy Box”, you need to come
take a look at this. Before
Marc and Karen had Triple
Creek, Marc would tour the
states providing inspirational
talks to kids encouraging
them to study math and science.
The WOW actually stands for
“Wipe Out Waste”. This vehicle comes complete with an
operational Flux Capacitor.
Its so incredibly unique, that
we have been pulled over by
the police in a parade. What
can you say?
The vehicle was build by
Pegasus Motor Company.
19
I
DOES GOD EXIST?
This is one of the best explanations, made by man, on the nature of God that I have ever seen in quite
awhile...
A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work,
they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects. Then
they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: 'I don't believe that God exists. ''Why do
you say that?' asked the customer. 'Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't
exist.
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children?
If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving God who would allow
all of these things.'
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.
Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed
beard. He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barbershop again and
he said to the barber: 'You know what? Barbers do not exist.' 'How can you say that?' asked the surprised
barber. 'I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!' 'No! the customer exclaimed. 'Barbers
don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like
that man outside.'
'Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me.'
'Exactly!' affirmed the customer. 'That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! That's what happens when
people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help. That's why there's so much pain and suffering
in the world.'
BE BLESSED & BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS!
