RACE ADMINISTRATOR: David Seibert
RACE DIRECTOR: Robert Pease
TIMING & SCORING: SCCA
TECH STEWARD: Kurt Hugelshofer
The historic Cavallino Classic
Competition saw a fine increase
in participation at the Palm
Beach International Raceway on
the Thursday and Friday of the
Cavallino Classic. It was the
fourth outing of this heartfelt
homage to classic racing, with
more pre-war giants, along with
post-war Ferraris and Maseratis.
The goal is to continue historic
racing, but in a friendly, safe
and secure atmosphere.
The classes saw more entrants
in the Drum Brake and Disc
Brake races, with a special
Bugatti presence in the Pre-War,
resulting in excellent competition in and among the groups
and entertaining the spectators.
We thank CCC Administrator
David Seibert for organizing the
cars and CCC Track Steward Bob
Pease for overseeing the racing.
Trophies were awarded Friday
evening at the Breakers Beach
Club Awards Party.
Our congratulations to all the
owners who competed and
brought such great cars.

OVERLOOKING THE NEW GULFSTREAM G650ER AT JET AVIATION FOR THE 2015 LA BELLA MACCHINA ON A BEAUTIFUL WINTER EVENING.
THE JET AVIATION CUP WINNER, THE 250 GT SWB, S/N 4121 GT.
The “La Bella Macchina” Jet Reception
was larger and more diverse this year,
with many older Ferraris in attendance, along with the latest in private
aircraft, including the breathtaking
Gulfstream G650ER. (One of its wings
was longer than the entire wingspan
of a P51 Mustang nearby.) It was held
again at the Jet Aviation FBO facility
at Palm Beach International Airport,
hosted by our Jet Reception partner,
the internationally known Jet Aviation.
There was a Tour of Palm Beach in the
afternoon, afterwhich these Ferraris,
plus many others (more than 120)
were stationed on the tarmac in the
middle of both private jets and vintage aircraft. During the evening,
with the commercial aircraft landing
and taking off nearby, the attendees
voted for their favorite Ferrari and
this year the Peoples’ Choice Award
went to the 250 GT SWB of Tom
Hartley Jr, brought from England
just for the Cavallino Classic.
Charities take center stage at La Belle
Macchina and receiving donations
from Jet Aviation were the Boys and
Girls Club of Palm Beach County and
Able Flight, the latter which works to
train handicap people to learn to fly.
We thank Gary Dempsey, CEO of Jet
Aviation NA, David Paddock, Senior
Vice President & General Manager, U.S.
Aircraft Services, and their entire staff
for again making this event a very
successful and enjoyable evening
for everyone.
TOM HARTLEY JR ACCEPTS THE CUP FROM JET AVIATION VP DAVID PADDOCK.

Four unique Ferraris were on
display at the Cavallino Classic
Lecture Series at The Breakers
on Thursday morning. The main
topic was the 375 MM Spyders,
and they provided everyone a
rare opportunity to look, contrast and compare these early
giants. Owners Charles Betz,
Tom Shaughnessy and Andreas
Mohringer spoke about the
similarities of the three chassis, and their early racing.
As a counterpoint, California
expert George Carrick was on
hand to provide an overview
of this iconic model and to
detail the specifics of the
model in situ, s/n 4121 GT.
We thank the owners for making the Ferraris available, the
experts who donated their
time and expertise, and Rick
Race, our Lecture Coordinator.
