We are very grateful that the groups we have worked with for
some time now in Belgium, France, Italy, Slovenia and Switzerland
continue to find homes for the galgos we can help in Spain. Also
this year, thanks to Levriers en Detresse (LED) and Greyhound
Adopt Centre Italy (GACI) we have been able to fund the
veterinary care and assist with the transport costs enabling 18
greyhounds to be homed in France and Italy.
This year, now that quarantine has finished, we have been able to
bring more galgos to the UK for homing. There is thankfully
always a lot of interest in them and the photographs and news we
receive from adopters is wonderful.
The work in Spain has become even more difficult. Many rescue

shelters we support have suffered cutbacks in what little
government support they have received in the past and are struggling to continue their vital humanitarian work, in the
face of widespread indifference or even hostility. We are stepping up our efforts to help with such projects as
security, improvements in dog accommodation, heating and weather protection. We continue to make substantial
contributions to the costs of transport and veterinary work as well as sending many parcels of coats, blankets, dog
bowls, medicines etc, kindly donated by our supporters.
In September Martin and I were able to visit Italy and were able to join in the very impressive annual gathering of
supporters and their dogs laid on by our colleagues Elisa, Lily, Chiara and their volunteers at GACI. We were
delighted to see so many of the galgos from Arca de Noe in Albacete, which have been rescued with our support and
also to spend time with Sole, Pili, Carmen and Marifeli from the Albacete shelter, from whom we were able to hear of
their current problems and to arrange for future help from GIN.
A continued preoccupation for GIN continues to lie in our schools education programme in Spain. This is making solid
progress and is warmly welcomed by the schools we have, so far, been able to reach. We see this as an absolutely
vital project, albeit one which will take a long time to bear fruit.

We zijn dankbaar dat de groepen in België, Frankrijk, Italië, Slovenië
en Zwitserland waarmee we nu reeds enige tijd werken, doorgaan met
het vinden van baasjes voor de galgo's uit Spanje die door ons worden
geholpen. Dankzij Levriers en Detresse (LED) en Greyhound Adopt
Centre Italy (GACI) konden we dit jaar dierenartskosten financieren
en hielpen we met de kosten van het vervoer van 18 greyhounds voor
wie een baas werd gevonden in Frankrijk of Italië.
Dit jaar konden we meer galgo's naar het Verenigd Koninkrijk halen en
onderbrengen, omdat de quarantaine is opgeheven. Gelukkig bestaat er
altijd veel belangstelling voor de honden en we hebben fantastische
foto's en nieuws van hun nieuwe bazen ontvangen.

Het werk in Spanje is nog moeilijker geworden. Veel opvangcentra hebben dit jaar nog minder steun van de overheid
ontvangen dan in het verleden. Ze hebben moeite om hun belangrijke humanitaire werk te blijven doen terwijl veel
mensen onverschillig of zelfs vijandig zijn. Wij spannen ons echter nog meer in om te helpen met projecten als
beveiliging, verbetering van de accommodatie voor de honden, verwarming en bescherming tegen het weer. Wij blijven
belangrijke bijdragen doen aan de kosten voor vervoer en dierenartsen. Ook verzenden we veel pakketten met jassen,
dekens, voerbakken, medicijnen e.d. die zijn gedoneerd door de mensen die ons steunen.
In September zijn Martin en ik naar Italië geweest, om deel te nemen aan de indrukwekkende jaarlijkse bijeenkomst
voor supporters en hun honden die werd georganiseerd door onze collega's Elisa, Lily, Chiara en hun vrijwilligers bij
GACI. Het was fantastisch om zoveel galgo's uit Arca de Noe in Albacete te zien, die met behulp van onze steun zijn
gered. Ook hebben we tijd doorgebracht met Sole, Pili, Carmen en Marifeli van het opvangcentrum in Albacete. Zij
vertelden over hun huidige problemen en we konden hulp van GIN voor hen regelen.
Iets dat GIN blijft bezighouden is de voorlichting in scholen in Spanje. We boeken er goede vooruitgang mee. De
voorlichting is positief ontvangen door de scholen die we tot nu toe hebben bereikt. We zien dit als een zeer
belangrijk project, hoewel het enige tijd zal duren vooraleer het vrucht zal dragen.

Nous sommes très heureux de constater que les groupes avec lesquels nous travaillons depuis quelque temps maintenant en Belgique, en France, en Italie, en
Slovénie et en Suisse continuent à trouver des foyers pour les galgos que nous
avons la chance de pouvoir aider en Espagne. Cette année, grâce à Lévriers en
Détresse (LED) et Greyhound Adopt Centre Italy (GACI), nous avons pu trouver
l’aide vétérinaire nécessaire et participer aux frais de transport, permettant à
18 lévriers de trouver un foyer, en France et en Italie.
Cette année, maintenant que la quarantaine a pris fin, nous avons pu emmener
davantage de galgos au Royaume-Uni afin qu’ils y soient adoptés. Heureusement,
les gens s’intéressent beaucoup à eux, et les photos et les nouvelles que nous
recevons des adoptants sont très touchantes.

En Espagne, le travail devient de plus en plus difficile. De nombreux refuges que
nous soutenons sont en peine car le gouvernement les a peu aidé dans le passé et ils luttent pour continuer leur travail
humanitaire si important, faisant face à de l’indifférence, voire à de l’hostilité. Nous redoublons d’efforts pour favoriser des projets portant sur la sécurité, l’amélioration des locaux destinés aux chiens, le chauffage et la protection
contre les intempéries. Nous continuons à contribuer de façon significative aux frais de transport et de soins vétérinaires et nous envoyons de nombreux colis contenant des manteaux, des couvertures, des gamelles, des médicaments
ou autres objets offerts par les personnes qui nous soutiennent.
En septembre, Martin et moi nous sommes rendus en Italie pour assister à l’impressionnante assemblée annuelle des
personnes qui nous soutiennent, avec leurs chiens qui leur ont été donnés par nos collègues Elisa, Lily, Chiara et les bénévoles de GACI. Nous avons été heureux de voir tant de galgos issus de l’Arca de Noe d’Albacete, qui ont été secourus grâce à notre aide et qui ont passé du temps avec Sole, Pili, Carmen et Marifeli du refuge d’Albacete. Ceux-ci nous
ont raconté leurs problèmes actuels et, avec eux, nous avons décidé d’une future aide de la part de GIN.
L’une des principales préoccupations de GIN est le programme d’éducation dans les écoles d’Espagne. Nous faisons de
nets progrès dans ce domaine et ce programme est accueilli chaleureusement dans les écoles que nous avons pu atteindre jusqu’à présent. Nous considérons qu’il s’agit là d’un projet essentiel, un projet qui mettra du temps à porter
ses fruits.

wir sind sehr dankbar, dass die Gruppen, mit denen wir nun schon seit einiger Zeit in
Belgien, Frankreich, Italien, Slowenien und der Schweiz zusammenarbeiten, auch
weiterhin ein Heim für die Galgos finden, denen wir in Spanien helfen können.
Darüberhinaus konnten wir dieses Jahr dank Levriers en Detresse (LED) und des
Greyhound Adopt Centres Italy (GACI) die tierärztliche Versorgung finanzieren und bei
den Transportkosten helfen – dadurch konnte für 18 Windhunde eine Heimat in
Frankreich und Italien gefunden werden.
In diesem Jahr konnten wir - nach Ablauf der Quarantäne - weitere Galgos nach
Großbritannien einführen, um ein Heim für sie zu finden. Glücklicherweise lässt das
Interesse an ihnen nicht nach und ist weiterhin sehr groß, und die Fotos und
Nachrichten, die wir von den neuen Besitzern erhalten, sind einfach wunderbar.
Unsere Arbeit in Spanien ist mittlerweile sogar noch schwerer geworden. Viele
Tierheime, die von uns unterstützt werden, erhalten nur sehr wenig Hilfe vom Staat und
mussten nun noch weitere Kürzungen in Kauf nehmen. Doch sie setzen sich auch
weiterhin dafür ein, ihre wichtige humanitäre Arbeit trotz der weitverbreiteten

ermöglichen. Wir leisten auch in Zukunft beträchtliche finanzielle Unterstützung
sofern es die Transportkosten und tierärztliche Versorgung betrifft aber darüber hinaus verschicken wir auch viele Päckchen mit
Mänteln, Decken, Hundeschüsseln, Medikamenten, etc., die freundlicherweise von allen unseren Unterstützern gespendet wurden.
Im September hatten Martin und ich die Gelegenheit, Italien zu besuchen und am eindrucksvollen Jahrestreffen der Anhänger und
ihrer Hunde teilzunehmen, das von unseren Kollegen Elisa, Lily, Chiara und ihren freiwilligen Helfern von GACI abgehalten wurde.
Wir waren hocherfreut, so viele der Galgos aus Arca de Noe in Albacete zu sehen, die dank unserer Hilfe gerettet werden konnten
und außerdem Zeit mit Sole, Pili, Carmen und Marifeli vom Albacete Shelter zu verbringen. Dort konnten sie uns auch von ihren
derzeitigen Problemen berichten, und wir konnten uns um die zukünftige Unterstützung von GIN kümmern.
Zu einer der kontinuierlichen Beschäftigungen von GIN gehört auch weiterhin unser Schulerziehungsgprogramm in Spanien. Bisher
konnten wir damit große Erfolge erzielen und das Programm wurde von den Schulen, die wir bisher erreichen konnten, äußerst
positiv aufgenommen. Dieses Programm ist ein ganz besonders wichtiges Projekt für uns, wenn auch eines, das noch viel Zeit
benötigen wird, bevor es Früchte tragen kann.

siamo molto grati ai gruppi con i quali collaboriamo da ormai qualche tempo in
Belgio, Francia, Italia, Slovenia e Svizzera per il loro continuo impegno nel
trovare alloggio ai levrieri spagnoli che non siamo in grado di aiutare in
Spagna. Inoltre, quest'anno grazie a Levriers en Detresse (LED) e
Greyhound Adopt Centre Italy (GACI) siamo riusciti a finanziare l'assistenza
veterinaria e ad assistere con i costi di trasporto, consentendo così a 18
levrieri di poter essere adottati in Francia e in Italia.

Estamos muy agradecidos a los grupos con los cuales hemos trabajado desde hace
algún tiempo en Bélgica, Francia, Italia, Eslovenia y Suiza por continuar encontrando
hogares para los galgos que podemos ayudar en España. Además este año, gracias a
Levriers en Detresse (LED) y Greyhound Adopt Centre Italy (GACI) hemos podido
financiar el cuidado veterinario y ayudar con los costos de transporte, permitiendo
que 18 galgos sean acogidos en hogares de Francia e Italia.
Este año, ahora que la cuarentena ha terminado, hemos podido traer más galgos al
Reino Unido para encontrar hogares. Afortunadamente hay mucho interés en ellos y
las fotografías y noticias que recibimos de los adoptadores son maravillosas.
El trabajo en España se ha vuelto todavía más difícil. Muchos refugios de rescate a
los que apoyamos han sufrido recortes en el escaso soporte gubernamental que habían recibido en el pasado y tienen que luchar para continuar su vital obra humanitaria, confrontando una indiferencia o incluso una hostilidad general. Estamos aumentando nuestros esfuerzos para ayudar en proyectos tales como seguridad, mejoras
en el alojamiento, calefacción y protección contra la intemperie para los perros. Continuamos realizando contribuciones sustanciales a los costes de transporte y trabajo veterinario, así como enviando
muchos paquetes de abrigos, mantas, platos, medicinas, etc., donados amablemente por nuestros partidarios.
En septiembre Martin y yo pudimos visitar Italia y participar en la impresionante reunión anual de nuestros partidarios

Una preocupación continua de GIN sigue radicando en nuestro programa de educación escolar de España. Este está
realizando un progreso sólido y recibe una buena acogida en las escuelas a las que hemos podido llegar hasta ahora.
