2006 Contributions Report
Relay for Life
Cover: The Idaho Power Electrolytes won the
Top Volunteer Involvement Program Group
Award in 2006 for their American Cancer
Society fundraising activity. Team members
took turns walking or running a track for 12
hours to raise awareness about cancer during
Pocatello’s Relay for Life. The relay took
place on July 14 in Pocatello and the team
raised $2,440. The Idaho Power team walked
together for the first few laps and then took
turns walking in small groups or individually
for 12 hours. Above: Electrolyte Joanne
Leadbetter (meter specialist in Salmon), takes
a moment to share a big smile with spectators
and photographers.

Many people believe that
giving is the secret of a healthy
life. We can gather and hoard
everything that life has to
offer, but until we give we
don’t really live.
And it doesn’t have to be money. We can give in many
ways — our time, our talents, our sympathy, our love
and our knowledge. IDACORP, Idaho Power, and their
employees, give all of these things.
In the coming pages we have compiled a journal in
words, numbers and photos of the company’s
charitable giving efforts in 2006. After reading, you may
be inclined to think, as we do, that this company and
its employees are exceptional.
1
Total Corporate Giving
• 21.14% Education
($102,745)
Corporate Contributions, $486,029
This is the amount the company donates to non-profit organizations and educational institutions. It includes scholarships (page 16), and the matching contributions the company makes to the Employee Community Funds. These donations are listed under four categories: Culture and Arts, Civic and Community,
Education and Health and Human Services. See page 3 for chart. For a full list of
organizations see page 18.
• 16.81% Civic & Community
($81,700)
Employee Community Funds, $230,682
These are funds that are donated by employees to charitable organizations and
individuals in need. The funds are distributed by employee organizations called local area groups or LAGs. These funds also are matched dollar for dollar by the
company. See chart and a list of organizations the ECF contributed to in 2006 on
pages 19-22.
• 2.26% Arts & Culture
($11,000)
• 59.79% Health & Human Services
($290,584)
Community Donations, $200,000
Idaho Power gives to communities in an effort to be a good corporate citizen
and neighbor. The donations in this category generally are for less than $1,000
each and are distributed by community relations representatives. See list on
pages 22-24.
Volunteerism, “Priceless”
Idaho Power employees annually donate thousands of hours to various organizations and causes. See pages 6-9 for a list of Volunteer Involvement
Program organizations that employees help. These activities are encouraged and
receive limited financial support from the company. It is impossible to assign a
dollar amount for these activities.

Rake Up Boise
On Nov. 18, Customer Relations and
Research Program Leader Celeste
Becia and Market Segment Coordinator
Annie Black joined 150 employees and
family members to rake the leaves at 26
homes mostly in Boise’s North end and
Bench areas. Idaho Power is one of the
largest participants in this community
event that is designed to help the
elderly and handicapped pick up their
autumn leaves.
3
Paint The Town
Each year Idaho Power employees
organize into Paint the Town teams
in both Boise and Pocatello to
paint homes of elderly citizens who
are unable to do it themselves. At
left, Pocatello Delivery Services
Rep Marsha Losser hugs Beverly
Harrington, who has a newly painted
house. Below, Community Education
Rep Russ Weedon carefully touches up
some trim on a Boise senior’s home.

Delivery Services Rep John MacKay
and Line Clearing Specialist Craig
