LemonAID
Team Kids served up their guaranteed recipe
for success, LemonAID, to raise much needed
support for the victims of the tragic earthquake
and tsunami in Japan. Kids took to the streets;
setting up homemade Team Kids LemonAID
stands on neighborhood street corners, city
parks, and shopping centers. LemonAID
Stands were held from Hawaii to Maryland
with more than $43,000 in proceeds going to
the American Red Cross for Japan relief. It’s
not just the kids who get excited about Team
Kids LemonAID, even the parents, teachers,
city leaders, police, and firefighters were on
the scene in search of an iced-cold glass of
LemonAID.
Shop with a Cop
In December, Irvine Police Officers went on
a holiday shopping spree with children being
served by Human Options’ shelter for battered
women and children. 35 kids partnered with
40 Irvine Police Department employees.
Stonefire Grill graciously provided $100 in Target
gift cards for each child and served dinner for
the children, their families, and the officers.
Target gave each child an additional $25 gift card.
Since Team Kids began in 2005, kids have
raised and donated $87,000 to charity through
hosting LemonAID Stands. And, as always, in
order to honor the philanthropic spirit of the
kids, 100% of their donations are given to a
beneficiary charity.

-At Team Kids we believe that every

Founder & CEO
On behalf of our esteemed Board of Directors, innovative Partners, Staff, and Volunteers, we are
excited to welcome you to Team Kids! Its an exciting time as we enter our 11th year of inspiring
our next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs and philanthropists. Since 2001, our programs have
empowered more than 56,000 young leaders in service to raise nearly $410,000 in resources to
address our communities’ most critical needs.
Team Kids’ success has been built around three main pillars:
1. School to Community Action: Team Kids runs programs where kids are -in our public schools!
The Team Kids Challenge is taught during the school day so EVERY student has the opportunity to
work with police officers, firefighters and veterans, while learning about real world issues.
2. Youth Powered Leadership: Kids are often told that they are, “too small ” to make a difference!
Just look to the members of our Team Kids Youth Council, many who started Team Kids in
elementary school, devoting 72 straight hours of service from Los Angeles to San Diego. Team Kids
puts our youth the lead to create success!
3. Social Entrepreneurship: The spirit of entrepreneurship exists in each of our flagship Team Kids
Programs. The Team Kids LemonAID Stand project inspires budding entrepreneurs (from Hawaii
to Maryland) to host homemade LemonAID Stands with 100% of their proceeds going to a chosen
charity.
Children are the key to all future populations. Today’s youth will be leading tomorrow’s corporations,
police departments, educational institutions, and providing leadership and innovation at a global
level. Team Kids serves as an agent for positive growth within our children, encouraging them to
think of and care for others in need in their community, your community, our community.
Julie Hudash,
Team Kids Challenge, our flagship program,
is a month-long program that brings community
role models, such police officers, fire fighters, and
veterans into schools to inspire kids to engage in
service. Each week, kids learn about critical issues in their communities and perform a related
service project. Most importantly, they learn they
have the capacity and ability to make a difference
in their homes, their schools, and the world.
Team Kids Challenge - 4 Weeks
Each four-week program begins with an
assembly and ends with a youth-led carnival.
Police and firefighters add excitement to the
assembly and challenge all the students to
four week-long challenges, such as feeding the
hungry, clothing the homeless, protecting the
environment, and planning a youth-led carnival
to support a charity that students chose.
2011-2012 Team Kids Challenge
Summary Data
“Team Kids Programs provide our young people with
opportunities to learn about community, leadership,
teamwork, compassion and making healthy choices.
This is prevention, as kids who feel connected to their
community and are involved in positive social action
are less likely to engage in destructive behavior. Team
Kids’ programs builds self-respect—and respect for
others in need.”—David Maggard, Chief, Irvine
