About the Co-operative
Development Foundation of Canada
Since 1947, CDF has been supporting projects in small villages and
farming communities that help farmers to market their produce
co-operatively, women gain access to credit through credit unions,
communities to develop housing co-operatives and workerowned co-operatives to produce the goods and services needed
in the community. The Co-operative Development Foundation of
Canada supports the advancement
of education and development
without discrimination, for
the relief of poverty and for
community development in 16
countries.
About the Saskatchewan
Co-operative Youth Program
Since 1928, Co-op Schools and the Saskatchewan Co-operative
Youth Program have educated over 43,000 young people. Through
a highly effective mix of leadership, communication and teamwork
skills and self-esteem building, as well as the increased knowledge
and understanding of co-operatives that
young people gain at Co-op Camp, SCYP
has had a positive influence on youth in
Saskatchewan for more than 85 years.
Each summer, SCYP makes a difference
in the lives of hundreds of our province’s
youth.
Thank you for joining
us today!
Over the past 18 years, the Co-op Classic has raised over
$147,600 for the Co-operative Development Foundation
of Canada and, since expanding our mandate in 2009,
over $51,050 for the Saskatchewan Co-operative Youth
Program.
These results would not be possible without the support
of our colleagues in the co-op sector, our supporters and
our business associates. On behalf of co-operators in the
developing world, young Saskatchewan co-operators, and
the Co-op Classic Planning Committee, we thank you for
your involvement in and support of the Co-op Classic.
