Back in the summer of 1991 a group of my high school buddies came up with the brilliant idea of spending a summer in Nags Head. That was my first summer working in a restaurant. I spent the next several years grinding through my college semesters dreaming of returning to the Outer Banks. Shortly after graduation day I packed my car and headed South to call Nags Head my permanent home. I spent the next 12 years tending bar on the beach. In the winter of 2006 I drummed up the idea of Lucky 12. A few months later we opened our doors. I wanted a place reminiscent of the cozy taverns nestled on every corner of my hometown, Pittsburgh, PA. The kind of place that every lawyer, teacher, tourist, sports fan, college kid, senior citizen, cougar, bachelorette, biker or any other heathen I forgot to mention, feels at home. I think I have achieved that feeling. So welcome home!
