Cinderella prepares for the prom
March break is considered the kickoff to serious prom dress
shopping. But for some students in the Vaudreuil area, the
season is taking on a twist with the launch of the Cinderella
Project. Forget about spending big bucks. Only online.

Carys Campbell enjoys a drink at the Fancy Nancy tea party at the Beaconsfield Library on Tuesday.
The occasion provided kids with the chance to dress up, make crowns, enjoy storytime and a little tea.
Actually, they had juice and brownies. To see more photos from the event, go to westislandgazette.

A controversial plan to install
three cellphone towers in Pointe
Claire has been put on hold
while Rogers Communications
explores different options and
tries to address residents’ concerns.
Rogers officials plan to begin
meeting with select Pointe
Claire residents next week and
will then decide how to proceed.
“We’re looking at many op-
tions at this point,” said Stephanie Jarrold, a public relations
official for Rogers.
“We’re going to meet with citizens and get feedback and address their concerns.”
One of the towers has been
slated for an industrial area on
Sources Blvd., but the towers
slated for Beck Park and near
the CLSC Lac St. Louis have
faced a lot of opposition from
concerned neighbours.
