She worked with each artist individually starting from the Auditions then Battle Rounds, staging and working on their performance presence. She also staged the opening performance for coaches; Ceelo Green, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton & Adam Levine. Other career highlights include choreographer for X-Factor USA Season 1 working alongside Paula Abdul. Manuela was also a choreographer for “So You Think You Can Dance” Australia 1,2 & 3 and “So You Think You Can Dance” Malaysia Season 1,2 as Artistic Director / Choreographer and Guest Judge. Manuela has danced with Jennifer Lopez in her music video “On the Floor” and with Rihanna at the MTV Music Awards. AMY CAMPBELL – Jazz Amy’s versatility as a triple threat performer has given way to her career both nationally and internationally across the performance industry. Her many theatre credits include: Fame the Musical, La Grande Cirque, II Tritico (Opera Australia), The Illusionists (dancer & aerialist), Saturday Night Fever and King Kong the Musical. Amy is a graduate of Newtown High School for the Performing Arts and the Broadway Dance Centre New York. Amy was one of the Top 10 dancers on Season 2 of So You Think You Can Dance. Her other television credits include Everybody Dance Now, X Factor, All Saints, Dangerous, Natalie Wood, Australia’s Next Top Model and The Magician. She has danced for many great music artists including Kylie Minogue. VERONICA GEORGE – Theatre Jazz Veronica is a professional Musical Theatre performer. Her versatility is shown through her many credits in Theatre and corporate work including performing alongside Lisa McCune at the Capitol Theatre in the production of “Guys and Dolls” as a principal dancer, performing in Graeme Murphy’s ‘Tivoli’ with the Sydney Dance Company, “Grease- the Arena Spectacular” (Australia & NZ tour) as a dancer and Dance Captain and the musical “The Wizard of Oz”. Veronica appeared in Baz Lurhmann’s film “Moulin Rouge” as the Tattooed Can Can dancer”. She has performed on P&O Cruise ship “Pacific Sky”, in the show “Fever” with Rhonda Burchmore. She also had the pleasure of working alongside Hugh Jackman in “The Boy from Oz”. JAYDEN RODRIGUES – Hip Hop Jayden is technically trained in F.A.T.D. jazz syllabus as a qualified dance teacher. Jayden was a Top 24 contestant on X-Factor 2013 and the judges put him into a boy band! A gifted performer, he has experienced a diverse television career, including appearances on "Home & Away", "Mornings with Kerri Anne", Channel 7's 'Sunrise', and 'Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Award. Jayden has also had acting roles in TV-movies including “The Informant' which aired on Channel 9, and the TV Series 'Crime Investigation Australia”. Jayden was also a special guest dancer on the TV series "Dance Academy" on ABC3 and has performed as one of Cassie Davis' back up dancers on "So You Think You Can Dance". Jayden has performed in Kuala Lumpur in front of thousands of children singing and dancing alongside Thomas the Tank Engine and Bob the Builder. He has been a professional entertainer since the age of 15 and has entertained audiences in Australia, China, Indonesia and the US . CHARLIE BARTLEY – Hip Hop Charlie has had huge success since leaving his home town of Dubbo where he studied dance at the Dubbo Ballet Studio. Most recently Charlie performed in the world premiere of Global Creatures production, King Kong the Musical. Charlie was the runner up for Network Ten’s So You Think You Can Dance Series 2 and went on to choreograph for the show in 2014. After his success on So You Think you Can Dance, Charlie secured a spot in the ensemble of FAME The Musical and toured extensively with the production. He has performed alongside music artists including; Timomatic, Paulini, Sneaky Sound System, Jessica Mauboy and international artists including Kylie Minogue, Kesha, Kelly Rowland and Rita Ora. Charlie was a featured dancer in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby. He is a regular performer on X Factor and The Voice. Charlie also performs with Machismo – a Sydney based group of young male dancers, who came together for the Channel 10 TV show Everybody Dance Now. All groups are for experienced dancers. WHAT DO I WEAR AND WHAT SHOES SHOULD I BRING WITH ME? The dress code is not strict. Please wear casual dance wear, something that you already have and feel comfortable in eg. Lycra dance tights & top, leotard & tights with skirt or shorts over the top, track pants and t-shirt/singlet top. Please bring your jazz shoes or jazz sneakers. Ballet flats, bare feet or cotton socks for Lyrical & Contemporary. WHAT ELSE SHOULD I BRING? Some suggestions of things to put in your sports bag: a bottle of drinking water, tissues, autograph book, hair elastics, bandaids, a notebook and pencil, lunch or lunch money, snacks to keep your energy up. FOOD / SNACKS There is a café next to our studios that sells water, soft drinks, juice, lights meals, hot chips, sandwiches & rolls, coffee, hot chocolate, cakes and biscuits etc. Otherwise please bring your own lunch, snacks and drinks. Students with any allergy should take their own appropriate precautions. There is a commercial café at the front of the studio venue. We cannot monitor what students may eat or purchase from the café. VALUABLES AND LOST PROPERTY Take your bags and valuables into the studio with you or leave them with your parent. Please remember to take everything with you after class as Sydney Dance Company cannot take responsibility for loss of items. FACILITIES There are boys and girls toilets, change rooms and showers at the end of the hall opposite the studios. WARMING UP Please be on time for the first class as it is important to warm up properly to avoid injury. CLASS BEHAVIOUR It is important students are respectful towards teachers and comply with any requests made by the teacher, as the well-being of the entire class is the teachers’ responsibility. MOBILE PHONES All mobile phones must be turned off prior to commencement of the class. STAFF SUPERVISION Students will be supervised by our Teachers and Room Monitors at all times and also during meal breaks. Please ensure that students are collected on time after the final class at 4pm. Supervision will end 20 minutes after the final class and Sydney Dance Company cannot be responsible for students after this time. If you are running late please call our office on 92584818.
