Dolphin Square in Pimlico in London
One boy aged 11 and one boy aged 13 were taken to London's notorious Dolphin Square flats
to be raped by top members of the UK parliament, including an ex-cabinet minister.
The Dolphin Square block of flats has been home to bosses of the security service MI5 and to
various top child abusers.

investigation by website Exaro for the Sunday People.

The younger boy has told how Members of Parliament held his head under water as they
raped him.
He was taken to Dolphin Square about 10 times over a couple of years either side of 1980.
He says: "Sometimes I would be driven there with other children...
"I was raped over a bath-tub while my head was beneath the water...
"I was held down by a group of men and my feet were stabbed with something."
One of the abusers was known as the Doctor and he treated any injuries.

The second boy said he was about 13 when a Member of Parliament took him to a 'dinner
party'.
He said: "They were boys and girls between 13 and 15."
He says the children were often raped after the adults had watched porn.
He says he was raped by the same ex-Cabinet minister as his fellow accuser.

Derek Laud with Anne (left) and Cicely Meehan, the spinster sisters who gave Derek Laud a
home. Cicely Meehan was a child psychologist. One Saturday, Anne drove young Derek to

Fellows, Stringfellows...
Julian Lewis, who twice voted in favour of the Civil Partnership Bill in 2004, and who
is a member of the Intelligence and Security Committee which oversees MI5 and the
other security services.
In 1994 Scallywag had a story about the Conservative politician Julian Lewis.

In the early nineties, in the now defunct Scallywag magazine, which I founded, we
interviewed in some depth twelve former inmates at Bryn Estyn who had all been
involved in the Wrexham paedophile ring...
Two of these young men, who had been 14-years-old at the time, swore they had been
not only introduced to the paedophile ring operating in the Crest Hotel in Wrexham but
had later been escorted on three or four occasions to an address in Pimlico (Dolphin
Square) where they were further abused.

We took them separately to Pimlico and asked them to point out the building where
this had taken place.
They were both positive in their identification.
It turned out to be the private flat of a well known .... lobbyist ... involved with
the 'cash for questions' scandal.
At the time we ran a story entitled 'Boys for Questions' and named several prominent
members of the then Thatcher government.
These allegations went to the very top of the Tory party, yet there was a curious and
almost ominous lack of writs.
Dolphin Square
The lobbyist was a notorious 'queen' who specialised in gay parties with a 'political mix'
in the Pimlico area - most convenient to the Commons - and which included selected
flats in Dolphin Square.
The two young men were able to give us very graphic descriptions of just what went on,
including acts of buggery, and alleged that they were only two of many from children's
homes other than North Wales.
There was, to my certain knowledge, at least one resignation from the Conservative
office in Smith Square once we had published our evidence and named names.
MI6 spy Gareth Williams, 31, was found locked inside a bag at his flat in Pimlico, south London, on
August 23, 2010.
Dr. Julian Lewis, now Conservative MP for New Forest (East) but then deputy head of
research at Conservative Central Office in Smith Square, managed to purchase the
contents of our offices, which included all our files.
It had been alleged that we owed rent, which we disputed, but under a court order the
landlords were able to change the locks and seize our assets which included all our files,
including those we had made on paedophiles. It was apparently quite legal, but it was

most certainly a dirty trick...

The real trouble about exposing paedophiles is that former victims of child abuse make
lousy witnesses...
By the very nature of the abuse, when they are rudely shoved out into the wide
world (one of the witnesses, Stephen Messham, for example, was released on
his sixteenth birthday on Christmas day after two years of abuse, and had to
sleep rough on the streets for four and a half months), they are often deeply
psychologically disturbed.
Some of the extreme cases commit suicide, many more were sexually disorientated in
the worst possible way...

I met Michael Portillo (in a pink suite! him not me!) a few months ago, he discussed Iraq,

I asked him(in front of 400/500 people, if the UK Government (the world) should be more
concerned about Israel's ILLEGAL nuclear weapons programme? Considering the fact
Israel has NEVER declared it's nuclear arsenal, it's NEVER signed up to The Nuclear

Back in the Seventies, when Jimmy Savile was at
the height of his fame, he was interviewed by a
newspaper about the death of a teenage girl.
The youngster was Claire McAlpine. She was
just 15 years old and had been a regular dancer
in the audience of Top Of The Pops.
On the morning of March 29, 1971, Claire, a
former convent school pupil, was found lying on
the floor of her bedroom at home in Watford,
Hertfordshire, by her distraught mother. She had
taken a fatal overdose.
Near her body was a bottle of tablets and her
red diary. ‘Don’t laugh at me for being dramatic,
but I just can’t take it any more,’ Claire wrote.
It was her last heartbreaking entry to her parents
before she killed herself.
On the preceding pages, she had named a
string of radio disc jockeys — and other
showbusiness personalities, all household
names — who, she claimed, had ‘used’ her.
One of the DJs, she said, had taken her to his
house for the night and given her a pill which
made her feel like she was ‘floating on a cloud’.
Another had also invited her back to his
‘sumptuously furnished’ residence.
Savile, then in his 40s, who presented Top Of
The Pops, was asked during the interview if he
knew or remembered Claire from the show.

my life. They say she came from Watford. I don’t know anyone who lives in Watford.’
The inquest into Claire’s death was held shortly after the article appeared. The coroner ruled that
Claire committed suicide after deciding her ‘day-dreams’ of becoming a pop star would never come
true.

Claire’s diary was scrutinised by Scotland Yard, but no action was taken against the DJs, who, she

The allegations made — and casually dismissed both within and outside the BBC — by Claire
McAlpine all those years ago can point only to one dreadful conclusion: that far from being alone, the
predatory behaviour displayed by Jimmy Savile, national icon and charity fundraiser, was common
among many big showbusiness names of the time.
Indeed, all this week accusations have been appearing in national newspapers about various wellknown DJs. How many famous men are sitting at home now terrified that the truth is about to come
out?
They may not have been paedophiles (although we know of at least two, namely Jonathan King and
former Radio 1 DJ Chris Denning, who were) but they were part of the same culture of
permissiveness that allowed the moral boundary surrounding under-age sex to become blurred.
Might this be the real reason for the code of omerta that seems to have prevented many of those
who must have known about Jimmy Savile’s predilection for young girls from speaking out?
Even now, almost all the Radio 1 disc jockeys who worked alongside Savile for years have remained
silent over the abuse allegations. Only one, Emperor Rosko, real name Mike Pasternak, was more
candid when asked about Savile’s sexual misdemeanours.

‘I had heard rumours, but then most of us in the spotlight had rumours to deal with,’ he admitted.
Either way, it is difficult to imagine such a scenario arising in the very changed world of today. Back
then, though, Britain was a very different place.
Original copies of Alice Cooper’s 1972 album School’s Out, for example, went on sale with a pair of

Peel, awarded the OBE in 1998, is perhaps best
remembered for his Saturday morning
programme Home Truths on Radio 4 in which he
talked about family life to Middle England.
But as a young man, he worked in Texas as a
local radio station DJ and self-appointed ‘Beatles
expert’.
When he was older, he recalled some of the
‘perks’ of the job in several newspaper interviews
in the Seventies and Eighties.
Girls, some as young as 13, he said, used to
queue up outside his studio to offer him sexual
favours. ‘Well, of course, I didn’t ask for ID,’ he
said.
‘All they wanted me to do was to abuse them
sexually which, of course I was only too happy to
do.
‘It was the glamour of the job . . . but frustratingly,
American girls of that period — as they do now,
actually — had this strange notion of virginity as
a tangible thing which you surrendered to your
husband on your wedding night.
‘So they would do anything but s*** you. They’d

Even now, and allowing for Peel’s famously
sardonic humour, it is troubling that those words
came from Radio 4’s cuddly champion of middleclass values. One of the girls who queued up
outside his studio was a girl called Shirley Anne
Milburn. She and Peel were married in Texas on
September 29, 1965.

Peel brought his wife to London two years later,
but the marriage began to founder almost
immediately as his star soared on Radio 1. They
were divorced in 1973. Some years later, after
returning to the U.S., she committed suicide.
By then, Peel — who married his second wife,
Sheila, in 1974, and with whom he had four
children — had become a pillar of the community
in the village of Great Finborough, Suffolk.
Nevertheless, the DJ — who died in 2004 — kept
up a running gag in his column in Sounds (a
rock music weekly) in the mid-Seventies about
how he preferred the company of fans when they
were dressed as schoolgirls.

The column was often illustrated with photos of Peel posing with young girls dressed St Trinian’sstyle in short gym skirts, stockings and suspenders. For one series of pictures, he dressed in a
schoolgirl uniform himself.
Alan Lewis, a one-time editor of Sounds, says Peel’s regular references to schoolgirls were ‘half
joking, half serious’. But he admits: ‘We really did go quite far on occasion.’
Unbelievably, Peel also ran a Schoolgirl of the Year competition on his Radio 1 show.
So, on the one hand, you have John Peel, and his ‘revelations’ about under-age girls queuing up for
sex with him outside his studio in Texas, and on the other, Jimmy Savile — ‘Sir Jimmy’ — grooming
girls as young as 12 by offering them sweets, cigarettes and tickets to be in the audience of his
shows.

Let’s not forget Jonathan King, record producer and TV presenter, who like Savile, cruised the
streets in his Rolls-Royce looking for victims, before being jailed for seven years in 2001 for attacks
on young boys.
Chris Denning, a close friend of King’s and member of the original team of DJs hired by Radio 1
(along with the likes of Alan Freeman and Kenny Everett), was also locked up for four years in 2006
for sexually abusing children.
We have been given the names of two more DJs who were sexual predators, according to a victim of
one of the stars and an associate of the other.
One of them allegedly tried to rape a girl at a party in Dolphin Square, Pimlico, Central London, back
in the Eighties. Many of the big-name
DJs and their agents lived in apartments and townhouses in the Dolphin Square area.
‘I was just out of college and working for Capital Radio,’ the girl told the Mail this week. ‘I was probably

‘Suddenly, I was being yanked into a bedroom off the main reception room, where I was forced
backwards onto the bed. I fought him off and managed to get out of the bedroom and left.’
Shows such as Top Of The Pops also became ‘happy hunting grounds’, itseems, for some DJs and
other showbusiness personalities.
Music journalist David Hepworth, a former editor of Smash Hits magazine, offered this explanation:
‘Most of the DJs of the Seventies and Eighties
Had come up via the ballroom circuit or holiday camps. ‘They thought it part of their job to make sure
the prettiest girls in the audience were hauled up on the stage to pose with them during personal
appearances or TV spots.
‘This was an era when all any star-struck teenage girl wanted was to be in the audience of Top Of
The Pops. The podiums were high, skirts were short and the camera angles low.’ Pretty young girls,

McAlpine, began to suspect something was amiss after her daughter had stayed out all night
following a phone call from a girl who said Claire would spend the night with her.
It was then that she decided to read Claire’s diary for the first time. She told her daughter she must
never see the DJs concerned again and ‘grounded’ her for a month.
‘I’d been worried about her for some time,’ Mrs McAlpine said in an interview back then. ‘She was
mad about the pop scene and always talking about disc jockeys and pop stars she met and how
wonderful they all were. She simply idolised them.
‘I was very disturbed by other references in the diary, which mentioned many names. Some of the
passages were so shocking that I would rather not repeat them. But the police know what they said.’
Just one month after Mrs McAlpine opened that diary, Claire was dead.
Jenni Bale knew Claire. She was 22 and also a dancer on Top Of The Pops. She says one of the DJs
who abused Claire was Jimmy Savile, who ‘bluffed his way out of it’.
‘Claire’s diary entries were later described as fantasy by the police, a terrible slur against someone
who couldn’t defend herself,’ said Jenni.
‘I believe Claire lost her life all those years ago because of what was done to her. She would
probably be a mother herself now.’
We now know that Jimmy Savile was almost certainly one of the DJs named in Claire’s diary. The
question is: who were the others?

I am a father of two daughters and a grandfather to four granddaughters and I find these actions
to be totally abhorrent . TODAY! But, like it or not, 1970's was known as the permissive age.
Standards were a lot lower then ( Better for the lads --- read ' more fun' ) Sex was recreational
and freely available. Those that weren't 'At it' were thinking about it, constantly. A few prudish
types (Christians Etc) frowned upon it but just look at the films that were made then. 'Up the
junction', 'Here we go round the mulberry bush', 'Confessions of...' Etc Etc. Sex was everywhere.
True, girls below that magic age of 16 should have known better (Yes, I meant that) but they all
flirted and unfortunately someone would take advantage and others, witnessing the fact, would
look the other way - Even the Police! But here we are, using TODAY'S values to judge an
historic event and that sells newspapers.

The John Peel stories originate from a notorious Guardian column by the fatuous Julie Burchill.
In the same column she claimed, in all seriousness, that he never played black music. His
"schoolgirl of the year" contest was in fact called "the Miss Top Gear contest" (as his show was
then known as Top Gear prior to the car fetishists of today) and anybody could enter. It was
eventually one by a pic of "one and a half rhinoceroces"!

The reason that there was a cover up is because the industry is full of bullies with £ signs in
their eyes, the industry doesn't care about anything other than making money, if you speak out
you get the sack and will never work in the industry again that's why the cover-up took place. If
the same was happening today then the same would occur 'NOTHING', it is rotten to the core

” In 1997 , the Conservative MP for Meriden, Iain Mills, was found dead in his flat in Dolphin Square, Pimlico.
Initially there was confusion over the cause of death but Westminster’s creepy coroner Paul Knapman soon recorded a verdict of alcohol poisoning.
Iain Mills, MP, was apparently found with extreme levels of alcohol in his blood and was surrounded by gin bottles.
The media blamed his death on the stress of being a parliamentarian and it was assumed he’d had an alcohol problem for many years.
This was at odds however with members of his local constituency group who insisted he was a teetotaller and only ever drank orange juice during the 20
years they knew him.
His untimely death was soon forgotten and to this day is rarely mentioned, but that might be about to change.
Could it be that Iain Mills MP was aware of the high -level paedophile ring operating in Dolphin Square and this knowledge led to his death?

If the walls at Dolphin Square could speak, they would reveal a history rich with colourful, distinguished, and
sometimes notorious characters. Politicians and peers, spies and foreign dignitaries, glamour girls and stars of
stage and screen have all enjoyed the many benefits of life at Dolphin Square.
The proximity of the Square to Westminster has inevitably led to its popularity with politicians. Many have lived here in the past, including Harold Wilson,
David Steel, William Hague, Estelle Morris, Beverly Hughes and the late Midlands MP Iain Mills. In 1994 alone, 59 MPs lived in the Square. Christine
Keeler and Mandy Rice-Davies, famous for their involvement in the Profumo affair, were both sub-tenants at Dolphin Square.
In the past, many foreign dignitaries graced Dolphin Square’s hallways and gardens. In 1940 the Free French occupied Grenville House, and when
General de Gaulle was in the Square, workmen had to be issued with special passes before being allowed entry.
Dolphin Square also has past associations with the worlds of espionage and subterfuge. Ian Fleming’s M was partially based on Maxwell Knight, a senior
figure in British military intelligence, a former member of the British Union of Fascists, an accomplished jazz drummer and a long term resident of Dolphin
Square. Whilst at MI5, Knight recruited Ian Fleming and a fellow resident, William Joyce. An extreme right-winger, Joyce became an infamous figure
during the Second World War – ‘Lord Haw-Haw’, a leading German propaganda mouthpiece during World War 2 who was ultimately executed for
treason.
Oswald Mosley, fanatical ‘blackshirt’ and, along with Joyce, one of the British Union of Fascist’s prime orators, lived at Dolphin Square with his wife
Diana, one of the Mitford sisters. He left the Square in June 1940 to face internment at Holloway Prison, where he lived with his family for the rest of the
war.
During the 1940s and 1950s Dolphin Square was the home to several comedians including Arthur Askey, Tommy Trinder and Vic Oliver. Oliver’s wife
Susan was herself a famous actress and the daughter of Winston Churchill. After a party at Nelson House one night, the brass numbers on a number of
doors at Nelson House had been swapped around, giving rise to rumours that this was the prank of some of these residents. Former music hall star Bud
Flanagan – one half of the hugely successful double act Flanagan and Allen – lived in Raleigh House. Flanagan he enjoyed particular success during
World War 2 with songs like ‘We’re Going To Hang Out The Washing On The Siegfried Line’. His voice is still familiar today singing Dad’s Army’s ‘Who
Do You Think You Are Kidding Mr Hitler’.
Dolphin Square’s connections with espionage were revived in the early 1960s. Tenant John Vassall, an admiralty clerk, was exposed as a Soviet spy in
1962. It is rumoured that agents from both sides of the former Iron Curtain lived here.

History
Dolphin Square – located as it is in one of Central London’s most sought after locations – is something of an enigma:
it is one of London’s best kept secrets, yet in certain circles one of the most desirable and envied of addresses.
The history of Dolphin Square is a colourful one. Completed in 1937 by builders Costain on the former site of a government-owned army clothing
factory, it is a feat of engineering which during World War 2 became the HQ of General de Gaulle’s Free French, an ambulance station and a hospital
whilst enduring the blitz. All the while, ‘normal’ residents remained at Dolphin Square. The complex has had various owners since World War 2.
The art deco architecture may at first seem imposing, but to walk through the arches is to enter another world – that of famous seafarers whose names
proudly adorn the thirteen houses that comprise the Dolphin Square.

Abuse: Dolphin Square, as many as 59 MPs lived here at one time
MPs held parties at a block of luxury apartments near Westminster where they and other VIPs sexually abused children, detectives have
learnt.
Two men came forward separately to Exaro several months ago to tell how they were taken as boys to a series of parties at Dolphin
Square, a block where many MPs have their London flats. According to the block’s managers, as many as 59 MPs lived there at the same
time.
There, the two men allege, they were raped.
Their claims come as the government was rocked last week – the result of a series of reports by Exaro over nearly two years – by
allegations of a paedophile network at Westminster. Theresa May, home secretary, went to the House of Commons on Monday to
announce an overarching inquiry into the sexual abuse of children in various institutions in the UK over many years – including political
parties.
One witness, whom we are calling “Nick”, identified several powerful figures as his alleged abusers at Dolphin Square, including two former Conservative
MPs, one an ex-cabinet minister. He described how both politicians raped and physically beat him after being forced to drink alcohol.
Nick recalled that he was taken to Dolphin Square around 10 times over a period of two to three years from the late 1970’s into the early
1980’s. He was around 11 years old when the visits began, and he went to several “Christmas parties” there, he said.
“We were asked if we wanted a drink, but there was not really a choice. It was always whisky. Both MPs were brutal. I was raped over a
bathtub, while my head was submerged beneath the water.
“One [MP] attempted to get me to beat another boy with a baton,” he said.
A separate witness said that he was around 13 when an MP took him to a “dinner party” for about 12 people at one apartment in the
block. This was in the early 1980’s.
He recalled how the apartment had “lots of artwork”. After dinner, he said, several people left. But a small group of men – who had
brought children with them – remained.
According to the witness, he was taken to parties at Dolphin Square to be sexually abused two or three times.
This witness has given details of these parties at this location and elsewhere to ‘Operation Fernbridge’, the investigation by the
Metropolitan Police Service into MPs and others who are alleged to have sexually abused children.
He and Nick gave their disturbing accounts to Exaro of how they were sexually assaulted at Dolphin Square.

Nick has talked to ‘Operation Fernbridge’. But he says that he does not trust the police enough to detail his allegations about politicians
and other VIPs. He approached Exaro instead.
Many features of their accounts are remarkably similar. It is possible that they met as boys, as they were trafficked around the VIP partycircuit in London to be sexually abused.
The two witnesses said that these parties were in various apartments at Dolphin Square, which is known for the intrigue that surrounds
it.
Meanwhile, detectives have investigated a separate property in central London, where boys were allegedly taken and sexually abused
by MPs and other VIPs.
Nick described it as a “grand” town house. He identified the same two MPs who raped him at Dolphin Square also sexually abused him at
the town house. He also said that a former Labour MP sexually assaulted him at the property.
The property is understood to have been under police surveillance as part of a wide investigation into paedophiles during the 1980’s.
To detectives’ surprise, they captured on film senior politicians and other high-profile figures among the men who entered and left the
house.
However, the police did not pursue investigations into any of the prominent people at the time.
Both witnesses are prepared to give evidence in private to the panel inquiry into child sex abuse that was announced last week. They
strongly welcomed May’s setting up of the independent inquiry.
Nick said: “I will do what I can to help, but only if the inquiry is prepared to pursue high-profile abusers.”

MPs are to meet home secretary Theresa May to press for survivors of child sex abuse to serve on the panel for the newly-announced inquiry.
The cross-party group of seven MPs who sent the joint letter last month to call on May to set up the overarching inquiry into child sex abuse have written
to her again to ask for a meeting to discuss the appointment of the panel.
They write that they are “enormously pleased” with May’s announcement on Monday of the investigation, modelled on the inquiry into the Hillsborough
football disaster of 1989.
But, turning to the inquiry panel, they continue: “It is essential that the group as a whole is absolutely robust, with a wide range of trusted
representatives, including survivors.”
In addition, the MPs want to discuss with May the terms of reference for the inquiry, to ensure that it covers all relevant issues and areas, including those

that were set out in their original letter.
Their letter comes after uproar greeted the appointment on Tuesday of Baroness Butler-Sloss, former High Court judge, to chair the
inquiry – in part because of a potential conflict of interests. Her late brother, Lord Havers, was attorney general when claims of a
paedophile ring at Westminster were raised with his cabinet colleague, Lord Brittan, then home secretary.
Geoffrey Dickens, the late Conservative MP, passed files on VIP paedophiles to Brittan, who says that he passed them on to relevant
officials and authorities. Little action seemed to result, and the Home Office has since lost the material. This is the subject of another
review.
The seven MPs all stress that at least one survivor of sexual abuse as a child must be on the panel to work alongside specialists in child
protection.
Zac Goldsmith, Conservative, is taking the lead on the issue. He told Exaro: “The strength and credibility of the inquiry will depend on
the terms of reference and the composition of the panel, which must be absolutely bullet-proof.”
The six other MPs in the original group are Tim Loughton, former children’s minister, Conservative; Tom Watson and Simon Danczuk,
from Labour; Tessa Munt and John Hemming, Liberal Democrat; and the Green Party’s Caroline Lucas.
The call quickly gathered momentum in Parliament thanks to Exaro’s Twitter followers ( @ExaroNews). Soon, 146 MPs were backing the
inquiry.
In their further letter to May, the seven write:
Dear Home Secretary,
We were enormously pleased with your announcement of a Hillsborough-style Inquiry into historical child abuse, and we would very
much like to find time on Monday or Tuesday to discuss next steps with you.
In particular, we would like to discuss the composition of the panel that will form part of the Inquiry. If Lady Butler-Sloss is to Chair the
Inquiry, and given the many questions that have surrounded her appointment, it is essential that the group as a whole is absolutely
robust, with a wide range of trusted representatives, including survivors.
As you will appreciate, it is essential that the public have confidence in this process if it is to have a chance of delivering meaningful
results, and I hope you will allow us to help you.

The meeting between the home secretary and the seven MPs follows growing disquiet about the appointment of Butler-Sloss to chair
the inquiry.
Whitehall sources say that the decision to order the inquiry was taken in Downing Street last Sunday in the wake of a series of
disclosures, driven by reports on Exaro. They also say that the decision to appoint Butler-Sloss was rushed, with little thought given to
potential problems, such as the fact that she is the sister of Lord Havers.
Danczuk said: “The government should think again about who should chair this inquiry.”
Loughton supported Butler-Sloss as chairwoman of the inquiry panel.
But Goldsmith, Munt, Hemming and Lucas also share unease about the appointment.
Following the announcement of the inquiry, the Metropolitan Police Service has tripled the number of officers who are scoping wide-ranging allegations against
politicians of child sex abuse amid a surge in claims of a paedophile ring in Westminster, writes Tim Wood . A Met spokesman revealed that the number of officers on
‘Operation Fairbank’ rose this week from 7 to 22.

Dolphin Square has long been a place of intrigue. Indeed, the complex likes to use its reputation for dark secrets and proximity to the
heart of power as a way of promoting the block of luxury apartments in Pimlico, central London.
But its glamorous reputation is set to be sullied by today’s bombshell disclosures that MPs held parties at the apartment block near
Westminster where they and other VIPs sexually abused children.
The 12-floor block, which was built over two years between 1935 and 1937, offers its own shopping arcade, cafes, restaurants, gym,
swimming pool and spa. Its gardens have a distinctive sculpture of three dolphins.
The complex is well kept and quintessentially English. A short walk from Parliament, it is favoured by MPs, Lords, wealthy businessmen,
stars and a wide range of other senior public figures thanks to its privacy, proximity to Parliament and views of the River Thames.
It is also close to Belgravia, the diplomatic quarter of London. Residents were unable to buy their flats, and could only rent them.
Dolphin Square’s Village Magazine boasts about the dark intrigue of the complex. Under a section headed, “The secret residents of Dolphin Square”, it
says: “With its close distance to Westminster, it is no wonder that Dolphin Square has been home to the likes of politicians and stars.
“But what you may not have known is that the square has also been home to a number of spies. The world of espionage is embedded into the history of
Dolphin Square.”
It refers to, ‘A History of Dolphin Square’, a book by a previous general manager, K. F. Morris, who describes some residents as “members of mysterious
government departments”.
The magazine article continues: “A confirmed long-term resident of Dolphin Square was Maxwell Knight – a senior member of the British
military intelligence.
“It is believed that he used two flats at Dolphin Square. Whilst he was at MI5, Knight recruited William Joyce who was a fellow tenant at
Dolphin Square at the time. Joyce, known as ‘Lord Haw Haw’ was later executed for treason.
“Whispers claim that agents from both sides of the former ‘iron curtain’ (an ideological barrier between the Soviet Union and noncommunist states) were once residents of Dolphin Square.
“Another tenant, John Vassall – an admiralty clerk, was exposed as a Soviet spy in 1962 and arrested at his Dolphin Square flat.
“It went almost unnoticed that Vassall was spending £10 a week on his flat in Dolphin Square whilst earning £14 a week.
“With this rich history and range of covert occupants, the previous residents of London’s most mysterious square must be pleased that
walls cannot speak, if they did many secrets may have been exposed.”
But if the panel inquiry that was announced last week by Theresa May, home secretary, into child sex abuse at various institutions –
including political parties – does its job properly, then some of the darkest secrets of Dolphin Square will soon be fully exposed to
threaten the very core of the UK establishment.
The original cross-party group of MPs who called for the inquiry are to meet May to press for survivors of child sex abuse to serve on its
panel, to help ensure that the truth is uncovered.

for Questions’ and named several prominent members of the then Thatcher government. These allegations went to the very top of the Tory

As hundreds more victims came forward last week and it emerged that government whips had shredded compromising records on MPs, chief constables
revealed they were conducting at least 21 separate criminal investigations.
Simon Bailey, the chief constable of Norfolk, who is running the national group, said 30 senior officers involved in investigating MPs, peers, and other
“prominent” figures were now co-ordinating their work.
The new police inquiries cover the whole country. “There are 13 forces currently investigating 21 cases. These are allegations against elected officials,
celebrities, people of public prominence and people directly connected to them,” Bailey said.

It is difficult to see how the porter could be guilty if the Earl was innocent, but Wilson was sent down for nine months.

Another attraction for residents has been the relatively low rents, especially for those who have stayed long-term. One resident told The Independent he
pays pounds 4,000 a year for a large one-bedroom flat, well below the normal market rates for Pimlico. However, he claims the old ethos of giving flats to
those who worked in the Westminster area, had important jobs and were desperate for accommodation has been replaced by the a quest for higher
income.
"If a new tenant had my flat now it would cost them pounds 9,500 a year. It's all about who pays the most."

Rescuers last night were trying to free a man trapped after part of a building collapsed in central London.
The man was trapped when the top two storeys of the structure in Dean Farrar Street, a few hundred yards from New Scotland Yard, fell onto the third
floor.

building lifted off.

Anthony Gilberthorpe has a history
How did the Sunday Mirror get this? It was arranged through Anthony Gilberthorpe, and filmed at his York home, the apparatus being set up by a
surveillance expert.
It is understood that Mr Gilberthorpe, who had worked for Mr Merchant in the mid 80s when he was MP for Newcastle Central and subsequently kept in
touch, took the story to the Sunday Mirror at the end of last week. A figure of around pounds 25,000 was negotiated. Mr Gilberthorpe has not been
available for comment since.

EXCLUSIVE: Second paedophile dossier cover-up after police raid
A dossier on politicians who allegedly supported a paedophile group was covered up by Special Branch, it was claimed last night.
“
The file detailed alleged attempts by the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE) to infiltrate government while seeking funding and
trying to persuade MPs to legalise sex with children.
Put together in the early 1980s by the late Baroness Castle of Blackburn, it named about 16 high-profile politicians who “enhanced
PIE’s ambitions”.
As well as key members of both the Commons and Lords, she found that senior police officers, headteachers and clergy had links to PIE.
Baroness Castle, who at the time was Euro MP Barbara Castle, took the claims to Don Hale, a campaigning newspaper editor in Bury,
Lancs.
But Mr Hale says an astonishing operation kicked in to silence the claims.
He says he received a visit from Rochdale’s Liberal MP Cyril Smith, now widely believed to have been a prolific paedophile.
Mr Hale, 61, said: “Cyril tried to persuade me that it was ‘all poppycock’.

Mr Hale says the offices of his paper, the Bury Messenger, were then raided by Special Branch.
He said officers waved a restrictive D-Notice and warned him of imprisonment if he failed to hand over secret papers obtained from Mrs Castle.

One boy aged 11 and one boy aged 13 were taken to London's notorious Dolphin Square flats to be raped by top members of the UK parliament,
including an ex-cabinet minister.
The Dolphin Square block of flats has been home to bosses of the security service MI5 and to various top child abusers.

Damian Green: As set out in the executive summary of the final report the four cases involving Home Office staff relate to offences in the
period 1996 to 1998. None of the cases contain evidence of the direct physical abuse of children. The investigator found no evidence of any
connection between the cases, or that Home Office equipment or facilities were used in the offences. All four staff were dismissed.
Specific details regarding the date on when these individuals were dismissed is not being released as this would present the possibility that
they might be identified by other parties.
Mr Watson: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what progress she has made on locating the dossiers submitted to her
Department by the former hon. Member for Huddersfield West (1979 to 1983) and Littleborough and Saddleworth (1983 to 1995) in relation to
child abuse in 1983 and 1984; and if she will place copies of those dossiers in the Library. [167981]
Damian Green: As set out in the published executive summary of the interim report the Independent Review confirmed that the
Home Office did receive information from Mr Dickens in November 1983 and in January 1984 about alleged child abuse. Copies
of the material have not been retained but a Home Office file contains a copy letter dated 20 March 1984 from the Secretary of
State in response to Mr Dickens. The letter confirms that the information was considered at the time and that any matters
requiring investigation were referred to the police. An extract of this letter has been published at the following link:

Now I think Mann is on a better track - cos for a while I've thought that the CSA incriminating evidence has been under lock and key in the Cabinet
Office. I have no validation of that - just a sense that when they say it's not in the Home Office - that's probs accurate - but they do know where it is.
What concerns me is that this furore over missing files is like some theatre act - being played out on the msm stage - when in fact this information was
known a while back ...............
So dirty politics at play - as always - tho I feel some of this is backfiring on them.
Think Hague quitting is significant - Bil d burg Clark off out of it - some shit will hit fan inevitably.

If the walls at Dolphin Square could speak, they would reveal a history rich with colourful, distinguished, and
sometimes notorious characters. Politicians and peers, spies and foreign dignitaries, glamour girls and stars of
stage and screen have all enjoyed the many benefits of life at Dolphin Square.
The proximity of the Square to Westminster has inevitably led to its popularity with politicians. Many have lived here in the past, including
Harold Wilson, David Steel, William Hague, Estelle Morris, Beverly Hughes and the late Midlands MP Iain Mills. In 1994 alone, 59 MPs lived in the
Square. Christine Keeler and Mandy Rice-Davies, famous for their involvement in the Profumo affair, were both sub-tenants at Dolphin
Square.
In the past, many foreign dignitaries graced Dolphin Square’s hallways and gardens. In 1940 the Free French occupied Grenville House, and when
General de Gaulle was in the Square, workmen had to be issued with special passes before being allowed entry.
Dolphin Square also has past associations with the worlds of espionage and subterfuge. Ian Fleming’s M was partially based on Maxwell
Knight, a senior figure in British military intelligence, a former member of the British Union of Fascists, an accomplished jazz drummer
and a long term resident of Dolphin Square. Whilst at MI5, Knight recruited Ian Fleming and a fellow resident, William Joyce. An extreme
right-winger, Joyce became an infamous figure during the Second World War – ‘Lord Haw-Haw’, a leading German propaganda
mouthpiece during World War 2 who was ultimately executed for treason.
Oswald Mosley , fanatical ‘blackshirt’ and, along with Joyce, one of the British Union of Fascist’s prime orators, lived at Dolphin Square
with his wife Diana, one of the Mitford sisters*. He left the Square in June 1940 to face internment at Holloway Prison, where he lived with
his family for the rest of the war.
During the 1940s and 1950s Dolphin Square was the home to several comedians including Arthur Askey, Tommy Trinder and Vic Oliver.

Oliver’s wife Susan was herself a famous actress and the daughter of Winston Churchill. After a party at Nelson House one night, the brass
numbers on a number of doors at Nelson House had been swapped around, giving rise to rumours that this was the prank of some of these residents.
Former music hall star Bud Flanagan – one half of the hugely successful double act Flanagan and Allen – lived in Raleigh House. Flanagan he enjoyed
particular success during World War 2 with songs like ‘We’re Going To Hang Out The Washing On The Siegfried Line’. His voice is still familiar today
singing Dad’s Army’s ‘Who Do You Think You Are Kidding Mr Hitler’.
Dolphin Square’s connections with espionage were revived in the early 1960s. Tenant John Vassall, an admiralty clerk, was exposed as a
Soviet spy in 1962. It is rumoured that agents from both sides of the former Iron Curtain lived here.

SECRET diaries believed to contain the inside story of British royal family scandals have been suppressed by the late Lady Clementine
Beit to protect Queen Elizabeth II
The diaries, which are referred to in a special clause in Lady Beit's will, were written by her husband, the wealthy art collector Sir Alfred Beit, and are
now held "under lock and key" by a Dublin solicitor.
In her will, which was published in Dublin two weeks ago, Lady Beit ordered that the diaries should not be revealed to the public until 21 years
after the death of Queen Elizabeth or 70 years after Lady Beit's death, whichever period is the shorter.
The will of Lady Beit, who lived at Russborough House near Blessington, Co Wicklow, has now left a tantalising mystery as to what royal secrets her
husband possessed and why they would be so damaging to the queen.
Do the diaries contain details of the royal family's oft-cited links with the Nazi party in Germany before the war? Or is it something more
personal, some sexual secrets of the royal family that Sir Alfred and Lady Beit want to keep hidden? Because of the "secret" clause in her
will, we can now only guess.
The intriguing reference to the sensational diaries is contained in the Last Will and Testament of Lady Clementine Beit, published by the Probate Office
in Dublin two weeks ago. It said:
"I bequeath my late husband's Diaries to my Executors and Trustees to be held by them upon the following Trusts:

"(a) To retain the same in their sole possession and custody under lock and key for a period which shall end 21 years from the date of the death of the
last survivor living at the date of my death of the issue of his late Britannic Majesty King George VI or for 70 years from my death, whichever shall be the
shorter."
Lady Beit's will then goes on to direct her current trustees, the Dublin solicitors Paul Guinness and Paula Fallon, not to allow a living
soul access to the diaries for the period specified. She also includes a mechanism by which a new trustee can be appointed because
the period that the secret must be kept is so long.
When the 'trust period' ends, the diaries of Sir Alfred Beit are then to be handed over to the National Library of Ireland.
But it is the specific clause "the last survivor living at the date of my death of the issue of his late Britannic Majesty King George VI" that
fixes the contents of the diaries on the British royal family. He had two daughters, Queen Elizabeth II and her sister Princess Margaret.
As the Queen is the only direct survivor of the family, the only conclusion that can be drawn from Lady Beit's will is that the diaries have
been suppressed to avoid causing her embarrassment during her lifetime.
When Sir Alfred Beit died in 1994 he left "all my remaining books, diaries, personal papers" to Lady Clementine Beit and ordered that his trustees "shall
not during the lifetime of my widow interfere with the custody management or control of all or any of the items" and they were told they could not
"intermeddle" with them in any way.
Sir Alfred Beit, the second baronet, was the son of the wealthy Sir Otto John Beit who was born in 1865, the younger brother of the more famous Alfred
Beit.
The son of a Hamburg Jew, Alfred Beit was born in Germany in 1853 and converted to Christianity. Along with Sir Julius Wernher, he became one
of the 'Randlords' who controlled South Africa's wealth and what was then Rhodesia.
Between them they created the De Beers diamond company which controls the world's diamond trade to this day. With the fortunes they
made they diversified into gold mining, railroads, farms, mining and other enterprises which made them among the richest men in the
world.
Alfred Beit, a friend of the British empire buccaneer Cecil Rhodes (and executor of his will), was recognised as the most brilliant of the partnership.
Luton Hoo, a fabulous mansion outside London bought by Julius Wernher, became the social centre of this fabulously wealthy set.
"Lady Zia (Wernher's wife) was related to virtually every royal family in Europe, and the Wernhers were particularly close to the
Mountbattens and to Prince Philip,who was a frequent guest at Luton Hoo," said Wernher's biographer.
Alfred Beit died unmarried and childless in 1909. His brother Otto John Beit inherited his fortune and was knighted in 1924. When he died in 1930 his
son Alfred Beit inherited his title and his great fortune.
Sir Alfred Beit, a conservative MP, married Clementine Mabell Kitty Mitford. She was born in 1915, months after her father, who would have been the
second Lord Redesdale, was killed during the First World War.
Along with her cousin Unity Mitford, the young Clementine visited Germany in the late Thirties becoming acquainted with Adolf Hitler and the Nazi
hierarchy. While her cousin became a fully fledged Nazi sympathiser and admirer of Hitler, Clementine seems to have kept a certain distance.
In 1939 she married the Conservative MP Sir Alfred Beit and they lived on 'Millionaires' Row' in Kensington Palace Gardens and at various palatial

It would seem that whatever secrets are contained in the Beit Diaries date from that golden age of the late Twenties through to the abdication of King
Edward VII in 1937 over his love of American heiress, Wallis Simpson, and the elevation of King George VI to the throne.
It now appears no coincidence that following the death of the king in 1952, Sir Alfred and Lady Beit sold their London mansion and moved
to Ireland. They bought Russborough to house their sumptuous art collection which consisted of some of the most valuable old masters,
like Rubens, Goya and Metsu, still in private hands. But the Troubles in Northern Ireland brought their problems for the Beits. Their
Palladian mansion became the target of IRA gangsters and other criminals.
Over a period of 27 years, 44 individual paintings, many of them priceless works of art, were stolen. In the six raids the Beits were roughed up by the
British heiress-turned-IRA activist Rose Dugdale and they were the target of the notorious Dublin criminal Martin Cahill, known as The General, and his
gang.
Several paintings were still missing at the time of Sir Alfred's death in 1994. The thieves' love of raiding Russborough reached almost farcical dimension
in 2002 when two art works were recovered in Dublin and, three days later, five more pictures were stolen from the house, including a Rubens.
After the last raid, Lady Beit moved to London where she died in a nursing home in 2005. The couple had no children, and their art work is now split
between the National Gallery in Dublin and Russborough House. Their property and trusts are spread between Ireland, Britain and South Africa.

Special Branch officers seized a paedophile dossier naming Establishment figures drawn up by Labour peer Barbara Castle in the 1980s,
it was claimed yesterday.
Officers citing ‘national security’ confiscated the file which listed 16 MPs along with senior policemen, headteachers and clergy, it was
said.
The dossier was collated by the late Baroness Castle of Blackburn who handed it to Don Hale, the editor of her local newspaper, the
Bury Messenger.
Mr Hale claimed a ‘heavy mob’ of Special Branch officers raided his office in 1984 and took away the file, threatening him with prison if
he resisted.
And he said that the day before the raid, Liberal MP Cyril Smith – since exposed as a predatory paedophile – had also visited the office,

demanding that he bury the story.
It would be the second paedophile dossier to have ‘disappeared’. A year earlier, a file handed to former Home Secretary Leon Brittan by
Tory MP Geoffrey Dickens also went missing.
This has now prompted Prime Minister David Cameron to set up a special inquiry into child abuse.
Lady Castle put together 30 pages of information about alleged attempts by the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE) to infiltrate
government while seeking funding and trying to persuade MPs to legalise sex with children.
As well as key members of both the Commons and Lords, she found that about 30 prominent businessmen, public school teachers,
scoutmasters and police officers had links to PIE.
Yesterday Mr Hale, 61, said: ‘Barbara was horrified at the rapid extent of PIE’s involvement with key people and her file included details of about 16
household-name MPs.’
He said Lady Castle – who at the time was Euro MP Barbara Castle – passed him the dossier and asked if he would write a story based on it.
‘I agreed to run something the following week but obviously had to contact certain MPs named – from the Labour, Liberal and Conservative parties –
and the Home Office for their responses,’ said Mr Hale.
‘The next day, Cyril Smith came to my office. He must have heard about it, or been sent by, the former Liberal leader Jeremy Thorpe.
‘Cyril tried to persuade me that it was “all poppycock”. He said Barbara had her “knickers in a twist” since leaving the House and had become bored with
wine lakes and sugar mountains in Europe.
‘He played down the whole episode and wanted an assurance that I wouldn’t run anything.
‘I couldn’t give that and he went away very disappointed. The next day the heavy mob arrived. Two or three police in uniform and half a dozen in plain
clothes.
‘They came at 8am, before most people had arrived for work, and showed me warrant cards and a D-notice and something signed by a judge. They
threatened me with five to ten years in prison and took away my notebooks and all the papers Barbara had given me.
‘It was a threat to national security, and not in the public interest, they told me. If I had said no, I would have been arrested. I had to give them
assurances I had given them everything. They told me not to tell anyone, and the whole thing was over within half an hour.’
Mr Hale went on to be a campaigning editor at the Matlock Mercury newspaper known for his investigation that led to the freeing of Stephen Downing,
wrongly jailed for the ‘Bakewell Tart’ murder.
But he said it was the incident with the Lady Castle dossier that sparked his determination to expose cover-ups.
He said: ‘Barbara had been a long-serving local MP and used to come and have a chat with me every couple of weeks. We had talked about a potential
paedophile ring with MPs before, but she said no one would listen.
Detective Clive Driscoll has told how he was removed from a probe into a council-run children's home in the late 1990s
‘She asked me if I would take a look and run a story from her point of view. She objected to any funding of this organisation PIE, and was very
concerned about the speed of their infiltration and the number of prominent names who were allegedly supporting them.
‘Barbara was horrified, too, at the prospect of Parliament approving legalised sex with children, often under the guise of educating them, and
mentioned an influx of rent boys and unsavoury and unfortunate situations that had been covered up by the authorities.’
He said she had not been surprised when he told her about the visit from Special Branch. ‘She sort of expected it,’ he said.
‘This was a powerful organisation and she reluctantly admitted she was fighting a formidable foe. She apologised for the hassle it caused me.’

Lady Castle died in 2002.
Mr Hale said of the dossier: ‘It was 30 years ago, so I can’t remember the names and full details, but I was sworn to secrecy by Special Branch at the risk
of jail if I repeated any of the allegations.’

Cyril Smith: Detective alleged 'prima facie' proof of MP's guilt
A senior detective investigating sex abuse claims against Cyril Smith told his boss there was "prima facie" evidence of the MP's guilt.
The detective's 1970 report to the Chief Constable of Lancashire said the Liberal MP would have been "at the mercy of a competent counsel".
The 14-page report, which has been shown to the BBC, also revealed "veiled threats" from a friend of Smith.
The Director of Public Prosecution later advised against prosecuting.
The officer, whose name has been redacted from the report, was investigating allegations of sex abuse by eight young boys, six of
whom who had been at the privately-run Cambridge House care home in Rochdale.
The home closed in 1965, prior to Smith's election as an MP.
The former MP for Rochdale was interviewed by the detective superintendent, who reported to former chief constable William Palfrey that "it seems
impossible to excuse [Smith's] conduct".
"Over a considerable period of time, while sheltering beneath a veneer of responsibility, he has used his unique position to indulge in a series of
indecent episodes with young boys towards whom he had a special responsibility," he wrote.
He said Smith was "most unimpressive during my interview with him".
The officer said: "He had difficulty in articulating and even the stock replies he proffered could only be obtained after repeated promptings from his
solicitor.
"Were he ever to be placed in the witness box, he would be at the mercy of any competent counsel.
"Prima facie, he appears guilty of numerous offences of indecent assault."
The officer also interviewed a magistrate who told him in his "personal opinion" he "sincerely hoped that this matter is not prosecuted

before the court".
"In my opinion, as a Justice of the Peace, it is not court-worthy," he told the officer.
"The prosecution can do no good at all and the backlash will have unfortunate repercussions for the police force and the town of
Rochdale."
He also told the officer it was "no secret" that he and Smith "are buddies, and not only politically".
The name of the magistrate has been redacted from the report seen by the BBC.

But, as we will reveal, there is an even more extraordinary story behind Mark Ronson. For it is not just in the music industry that Ronson has
impressive connections.
He is the remarkable product of a family whose many branches include the sequined aristocracy of pop and a sombre regiment of
establishment politicians.
His own family tree includes some of the most well-known names in British politics and business. Ronson is related to the former Home
Secretary Leon Brittan, former Foreign Secretary Sir Malcolm Rifkind and the property tycoon and convicted fraudster Gerald Ronson is
the star's uncle.
And the story behind Ronson's background is perhaps even more compelling than that of his brilliant career. The man, who was listed 18th on Arena
magazine's Power List, is descended from two extraordinary Jewish families, whose ancestors fled poverty, persecution and pogroms in Eastern
Europe.
Ronson was born at the Wellington Hospital in north London on September 4, 1975. His parents, Ann Cecilia Dexter and Laurence Meredith Ronson,
had married the previous December at the Marble Arch Synagogue in Central London.
Laurence discovered pop group Bucks Fizz, who went on to win the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest, and the couple mixed with many of the rock stars of
the day. With the proceeds from Laurence's company, they lived in luxury in St John's Wood, North West London.
From an early age, it seemed Mark had inherited his father's ear for music. "When Mark was little he did what a lot of children do whenever he heard
music,'"says Ann Dexter today. "He would find the nearest box or tin to bang out the beat."
But not every toddler had a rock star on hand to pass judgment on his musical abilities.
"Keith Moon* was mesmerised by Mark when he was just 18 months old banging on a box," recalls Ann.
"Keith said Mark stopped for every drum break and it was amazing for such a young child to have so much rhythm. He asked me to promise to buy Mark
a drum kit for his next birthday or he would buy it.
"Mark was always curious about music and when his nursery school teacher called me in to cross-examine me about whether I played nursery rhymes at
home, I assured her that I did, which was true.
"She said that there had been a little talent contest in the class and all the children had sung a nursery rhyme except Mark, who got up
and sang Ian Dury's Sex And Drugs And Rock 'n' Roll.
"I turned around without missing a beat and asked the teacher, 'Was he in tune?' She gave up on me after that."
While living in Manhattan, Mark found himself in the company of other children of rock stars.
He went to school with Liv Tyler, daughter of Aerosmith's Steve Tyler, while his best friend was John Lennon's son Sean. He often spent time in Sean

Sir Paul McCartney and Robin Williams were also family friends.
His mother Ann is a second cousin of Sir Malcolm Rifkind, the Kensington and Chelsea MP who was a key member of the Thatcher

Ann and Sir Malcolm's grandmothers, sisters Hannah and Nechama Hoffenberg, fled Russia around the turn of the 20th Century with their cousin
Rebecca Lipetz and settled in Edinburgh.
Hannah married Abraham Lurie and they had four sons and a daughter, Judith, who is Ann's mother. Nechama and her husband, travelling salesman
Charles Rifkind, prospered among the Scottish capital's thriving Jewish community. The couple had ten children, including Elijah, the father of Sir

Child sex abuse victims are starting to feel empowered – this is bad news for the establishment
Watershed political moments usually require an indelible image to register change on a large scale. The collapse of the Berlin Wall or the sight of Nelson
Mandela leaving prison are images that immediately convey a sense that society was making a quantum social leap. I had my own watershed moment
last week, but it wasn’t a moment eminently framed by news cameras for posterity that made me realise I was witnessing social change. It was the sight of
a man in his 50s, his hands visibly trembling and tears welling in his eyes, sat before me talking about child abuse.
I’ve met many victims of sexual abuse now, and it wasn’t his experience of abuse that affected me most – although it was extremely distressing, – it was
how he explained why he’d come to see me. “I would not have been able to talk about this ten years ago,” he began. “It would have been too
embarrassing and no one would have believed me. But the environment’s changed. It feels safe to talk about it now.”
I won’t forget his face – or the ever so slight gleam of hope in his eyes, reflecting a sense that something good may come out of sharing a terrible
burden that’s held him back all his life.
He’s not alone in this view. Many more people are now willing to open up about terrible things they’ve never spoken about before. I’ve long felt that child

abuse was a voiceless crime, forever silenced by a feeling that the authorities didn’t want to know about it, but it’s slowly beginning to find its voice and
it’s getting louder by the day.
The events of the last few weeks show that we’ve well and truly crossed the Rubicon and this change cannot be contained. First the
government caved in to demands for a national inquiry looking at historic child abuse then attempts to appoint a safe establishment
figure to chair the inquiry in Baroness Butler-Sloss well and truly backfired as she was forced to step down before she’d even started. In
her statement Butler-Sloss acknowledged that she did not have the confidence of victims and survivor groups.
As a measure of how far we’ve come it’s worth recalling that little over 10-years ago the Children’s Minister, Margaret Hodge, was able
to keep her job after calling a victim of child abuse “deeply disturbed”. She ended up settling out of court with this victim but nowadays
it wouldn’t just cost ministers financially. They would have to resign. Victims of child abuse cannot be so easily rubbished or ignored.
And the establishment cannot continue to lord it over us and dictate how investigations are conducted.
This week the Economist said historians will look back on Britain’s public life at the turn of the 21st century as being mired in an “age of disillusionment”.
They are most probably right. But for some people, it may well be remembered as a golden age when the most vulnerable people in society were finally
given a voice and powerful abusers were brought to justice.
There are, of course, those who don’t believe anything good will come out of this at all. "Paedomania", "hysteria" and "witch-hunt" have become
the common language of certain members of the commentariat. I wonder if any of them have ever met with victims of child abuse. The fact that
660 suspected paedophiles have been arrested this week suggests that far from over-hyped hysteria we’re finally confronting a massive crime.
The man in his 50s who I spoke to last week had been abused by the former MP for Rochdale, Sir Cyril Smith. He was one of many in a
long line of poor, vulnerable people that have been treated as disposable goods by powerful figures like Smith. Back then the abuse of
young boys didn’t matter and it was easily hushed up. Not so anymore. And as long as the gradual empowerment of victims continues then
plenty of people across the establishment will continue to have sleepless nights and be forever looking over their shoulder.

If you’re looking for a true British hero, who put his career and life on the line,
in his fight to protect children from VIP abuse rings, then look no further than
the late, great, Geoffrey Dickens, MP.
The man was a bloody legend who never gave up his campaign to expose the truth about
the filthy establishment who run this country.
Geoffrey Dickens stumbled across evidence of the horrific paedophile scandal,
linked to Parliament.
Despite informing the powers that be about the alleged abuse, no investigation ever took
place and as per their usual MO, Dickens himself became the target of a dirty tricks
campaign to ensure his silence.
According to the Independent:
“ A burly veteran of scores of amateur boxing bouts, the Tory MP Geoffrey Dickens was
best known during his bustling 16-year career in Parliament as a pugnacious right-winger
who supplied “hang ‘em and flog ‘em” quotes to the tabloids.
Eighteen years after his death, however, the backbencher’s reputation as a political
lightweight is being revised in the wake of a Scotland Yard investigation which is
exhuming a scandal long buried in the Westminster of Margaret Thatcher’s premiership.
He may have stumbled upon an Establishment paedophile ring in the early 1980s – and
that his efforts to expose a cover-up left him in fear of his life. Dickens told fellow MPs that
after warning of the existence of the network, he had received threatening phone calls and
been burgled twice. He also claimed he had been placed on a “hit-list”, he told the House
of Commons in a little-noticed speech.
For four years between 1981 and 1985, Dickens railed in Parliament against a paedophile
ring which he claimed was connected to a trade in child pornography, then controlled by
gangsters.
In 1981 Dickens had used Parliamentary privilege to name a diplomat and MI6 operative,
Sir Peter Hayman as a pederast and demanded the Attorney General explain why he had
escaped prosecution over the discovery of violent pornography on a London bus two years
previously.
Two years later, in 1983, he warned a paedophile network involved “big, big names –
people in positions of power, influence and responsibility” and threatened to expose them
in Parliament.

In 1984, he campaigned for the outlawing of Sir Peter’s Paedophile Information Exchange
(PIE) organisation. He also handed a dossier containing allegations of abuse of children in
local authority care to the then Home Secretary, Leon Brittan.
After a 30-minute meeting with Sir Leon, Dickens said he had been “encouraged” but later
expressed concern that the Cabinet Minister had not banned the PIE.
Last month Metropolitan Police began Operation Fernbridge into allegations that residents
of a childrens home in Richmond, west London, were taken to the nearby Elm Guest House
in Barnes, where they were abused. Pornography involving adults having sex with children
was allegedly shot at the property and then circulated commercially.
Sir Peter was among the visitors to the property. Others, according to a list seized by
Scotland Yard last month, were the late Liberal MP Cyril Smith, the former Russian spy Sir
Anthony Blunt, a Sinn Fein politician, a Labour MP, and several Conservative politicians.
After neighbours complained about the arrival of children, the police raided the guesthouse
in 1982 but the operation was mysteriously cut short. A 2003 investigation also failed.
During a debate on child abuse in the House of Commons on 29 November
1985, Dickens warned that paedophiles were “evil and dangerous,” adding
child pornography generated “vast sums.”
He went on: “The noose around my neck grew tighter after I named a former high-flying
British diplomat on the Floor of the House.
“Honourable Members will understand that where big money is involved and as important
names came into my possession so the threats began.
“First, I received threatening telephone calls followed by two burglaries at my London
home. Then, more seriously, my name appeared on a multi-killer’s hit list.”
The Independent can find no corroboration for Dickens’ comments.
However twenty-eight years after he made them, Scotland Yard officers kept
their new investigation secret for weeks, fearful that it would be closed down
like earlier inquiries.
In a blog on his website, the Labour MP Tom Watson – whose claims of a powerful
paedophile network prompted the new inquiry – said that he had been advised by
childcare experts who have tried to expose the scandal to be careful about his personal
security. He has asked the Home Office for the dossier presented by Dickens to Sir Leon,
but it has not yet been found.
Dickens does not appear to have raised the issue in the Commons again prior to his death
in 1995. He told friends he was surprised he had never been made a minister.”
Quite why Leon Brittan never investigated the ‘ Dickens Dossier’ is a complete mystery.
It any case, it’s highly likely that Geoffrey Dickens was aware of another VIP paedophile
ring operating at Dolphin Square.
The North Wales child-abuse scandal is linked to the ring and William Hague conveniently
whitewashed a report into the scandal.
Hague himself used to live in Dolphin Square.
Many MI6 operatives have flats in the complex.
Some say they filmed child-abuse taking place there in order to blackmail the abusers

Iain Mills, an MP friend and ally of Dickens, also lived there.
Mills died of an apparent drink binge in his flat despite colleagues claiming he was a
teetotaller.
” In 1997 , the Conservative MP for Meriden, Iain Mills, was found dead in his flat in
Dolphin Square, Pimlico.
Initially there was confusion over the cause of death but Westminster’s creepy coroner
Paul Knapman soon recorded a verdict of alcohol poisoning.
Iain Mills, MP, was apparently found with extreme levels of alcohol in his blood and was
surrounded by gin bottles.
The media blamed his death on the stress of being a parliamentarian and it was assumed
he’d had an alcohol problem for many years.
This was at odds however with members of his local constituency group who insisted he
was a teetotaller and only ever drank orange juice during the 20 years they knew him.
His untimely death was soon forgotten and to this day is rarely mentioned, but that might
be about to change.
Could it be that Iain Mills MP was aware of the high -level paedophile ring
operating in Dolphin Square and this knowledge led to his death?
In 1993, an Early Day Motion was proposed by Ann Winterton MP entitled:
“Availability Of Obscene, Violent And Pornographic Material”
” That this House thanks Superintendent Michael Hames and his colleagues of the
Obscene Publications Squad for acceding to the request of Right honourable and
honourable Members to be available on 24th and 25th February in the Jubilee Room to
provide honourable Members with the opportunity to discuss the difficulties which are
experienced in dealing with the shockingly obscene, violent, and pornographic material
which is increasingly available in the United Kingdom; expresses its revulsion that this
material features the depiction of cruelty and violence towards women, children, and men,
that it involves acts of bestiality as well as other acts of extreme depravity; expresses its
profound concern that the Obscene Publications Act and associated legislation fails to
provide the necessary legal framework for the prosecution of those who produce and
disseminate this material; welcomes the acceptance by the Prime Minister that there are
great and obvious problems in this area; and invites the Secretary of State for the Home
Department to respond to the concern of honourable Members of this House, from all
political parties, by undertaking a wide-ranging and thorough departmental review both of
the provisions and of the enforcement of the law, and to make it his policy to bring
forward proposals for legislation at an early date”
The EDM was signed by both Iain Mills MP and also Geoffrey Dickens MP.”
Did Iain Mills pass information to Dickens about the abuse ring at Dolphin Square?
Did this lead to his suspicious death?
According to the Mirror:
“ A Tory MP’s explosive file on an alleged VIP child abuse ring was destroyed by his family
after his death, The Sunday People can reveal.
Geoffrey Dickens is believed to have made two copies of his 50-page dossier highlighting
paedophiles in Britain’s establishment.

They contained claims of police corruption, names of senior politicians and are believed to
have referred to the notorious Elm Guest House.
The B&B in south-west London is the subject of a police probe into allegations that VIPs
went there to abuse
boys from a nearby care home.
The Sunday People revealed two weeks ago how Mr Dickens gave one dossier to the
Home Office in 1984 but it apparently vanished.
The other was kept by the colourful MP for Littleborough and Saddleworth until his death
at the age of 63.
That copy was ordered to be destroyed by Mr Dickens’ widow Norma who thought it was
“too sensitive” to keep in the family home. She died last year.
Their son Barry, 49, told the Sunday People: “My father’s file was destroyed after his death
in 1995 because my mother considered it too sensitive to have hanging around the house.
It had been many years since Dad had handed the other copy to the Home Secretary and unfortunately nothing had come of it.”
It means the only possible remaining copy of the dossier could be with the Home Office.
MP Tom Watson has asked the Home Office to produce the dossier. Officials are still trying
to track it down.
In 1981 Mr Dickens, then MP for Huddersfield West, had fired the first salvo against top
paedophiles when he named diplomat Sir Peter Hayman. More information flooded in and
in 1984 he handed his dossier to Home Secretary Leon Brittan.
The Home Office agreed to investigate the allegations and in the mean time Mr Dickens
agreed not to use the protection of parliamentary privilege to name more paedophiles.
In 1985 the brave MP told the Commons he had received threatening phone calls and had
been put on a “multi-killer’s hit list” following his campaign.
Shockingly it has taken 30 years for Mr Dickens’ allegations to be probed. At the time
some MPs tried to undermine his campaign.
His son Barry said: “I see the new investigations as re-establishing my father’s reputation
as a serious, campaigning politician.
“People like Jimmy Savile might have been rooted out three decades ago if the
Government had acted on my father’s dossier”.
His granddaughter, Suzanne, left the following, moving comments:
” Well all I know is he was my Grandad. He was an amazing person. For his family and
friends but also his country. I hope he gets the justice he deserves. He deserves an OBE,
all he did was care and try and protect innocent children…from corrupt, dirty old men with
disgusting, unforgivable lives trying to cover their tracks to protect their names and
families….well what about mine!!?!
Justice will be done, the truth always comes out. And we will celebrate for my grandad,
who we all miss.”
Isn’t it time for Geoffrey Dickens to be recognised posthumously for his services
in trying to expose child abuse in filthy Britain?
He bloody well deserves it.

It is of interest that William Hague was the ONLY person briefed by the security services on the level of
surveillance by GCHQ/NSA. He did not inform Parliment or the intelligence select committee.

Geoffrey Dickens did more than most to try to bring the elite paedophile ring that seems to have
completely infiltrated Westminster. The power of the ring is such that most members including the rings
leaders have never been brought to justice.

I remember an old chap from the inteligence world saying two uncorruptable MPs were left winger Frank
Field who had been threatened to remain silent and Tam Dalywell, both maginifent men who did speak out
on this, this intel guy also told me Harold Wilsons deputy Lord George Brown, although a drinker, used to
secretly inform on MPs who used boys from care homes.
