Personal Background
Sid comes from Federal Way, Washington where he attended John F. Kennedy High School, a private Catholic
school. Baseball and Football were two things that Sid excelled in. Sid’s football and baseball career had taken off
by the time he was a senior in high school. College scholarship offers came rolling in after visiting many of the
colleges, which were interested in him playing football. Sid made the decision to go to Colorado State University.
There were several reasons for his choice, a beautiful school, a great football program, some of the best snow skiing
in America and Colorado State had a great Vet school, which; at the time - Sid’s ambition was to become a vet.
After finishing sports and his academic career, he turned his focus on becoming a self-made millionaire
entrepreneur. In 1975, Sid contracted a research laboratory in North Rose; NY to breed ferrets for him. He then
wrote the first book “What’s A Ferret” in the United States on Ferrets as pets and proceeded to flood the United
States pet industries with thousands of ferrets.
Several years after, Sid sold his company, “Colorado Ferrets” and turned his interest to horses and exotic wildlife.
He purchased a 40-acre ranch in beautiful Evergreen Colorado, where he purchased two African Lion cubs and
began his career in training animals for film work. Beginning in early 2010, Sid and Amazing Animal Productions
expanded from California to Louisiana to work on several television series, feature films, and super bowl
commercials. In 2014, Sid moved operations to the now infamous “Welcome Lake Movie Ranch”: in Newnan,
Georgia. In Sid’s current position as head animal coordinator he is responsible for script breakdowns, creating
working budgets, coordinating all animals, wranglers, and trainers. Sid also works closely with the Directors and the
DPs to help set the shots when animals are involved.
2010 Through Present – Sid and Amazing Animal Productions has expanded his facilities to include New Orleans,
LA and in fall 2014 moved his operations to Welcome Lake Movie Ranch in GA, a full service filming location.
We now provide a natural environment to a large variety of domestic and native North American animals with an
emphasis on enrichment. Sid is now Head Animal Coordinator of Amazing Animal Productions.
2001 - Director of Animal Talent - Amazing Animal Productions Inc., deemed one of California’s finest private
animal facilities. Sid’s animals were primarily used in TV, Film, Print Ads, Displays, Education and breeding
programs for certain species with enrichment development for captive wildlife. Sid’s educational programs, such as
Amazing Animal Teaching Zoo, provided a range of animals, including a special program for threatened and
endangered species. While providing programs on location, seminars were also provided at the facility. The modern
facility located near the San Bernardino Mountains provided all our animals with the highest standard of living in a
more natural environment with an emphasis on enrichment.
1998 through 2001 - Performed as “Ranger Rick Kelly” on the hit live animal action adventure educational
television series “Critter Gitters”. Sid was responsible for all animal talent brought on the program, as well as the
overall care, housing and safety of his own animals who acted as regulars on the FCC educational/informational
program.
Sid has appeared on over 100 talk shows, both national and local, to educate millions of viewers on endangered and
threatened wildlife. Such as David Letterman, Jay Leno, Good Morning America, The View, Fox Morning News
and WGN Morning Show.
1996 through 1998 – Sid, Head Trainer, Amazing Animal Adventures-Responsibilities included supervision of
animals, working closely with care-taking staff and developing a daily wildlife educational program for the public.
Responsible for the overall care and well-being of all the animals. (Orlando, FL)
1986 through 1996 – Sid developed Primate Enrichment programs for captive chimpanzees and other wildlife and
developed the educational program for Amazing Animals Affection Training Center. (Florida)
1984 through 1986 - Head Trainer & Administrator, Gentle Jungle Animal Affection Training School - the first and
largest wildlife training center in the world. Primary responsibility was to educate hundreds of students in animal
care, animal husbandry and animal handling with affection. Additional responsibilities included creating, designing
and facilitating three separate wildlife educational shows for Lion Country Safari, “The Elephant Show” “The
Endangered Species Program” and “The Jungle Castle Show.” (Lion Country Safari, Irvine, CA)
1983 - Sid became a SAG Actor while acting on the NBC hit TV series, Mr. Smith.
1977 through 1984 - President, Rocky Mountain Studio Animal Affection Training School - a private vocational
school teaching animal care, animal husbandry and animal handling. (Evergreen, CO). Sid was also a regular trainer
on Mutual of Omaha’s Magic Kingdom.
1979 - Wrote and published the first book in the U.S. on the subject of ferrets as pets, “What’s A Ferret”.
1975 through 1976 - Spokane Falls Community College Pre-Vet minor. Completed Veterinary Tech program at Mt.
View Veterinary Hospital. Responsibilities included dental and surgical assistance and overall care and medication
of large and small domestic animals. (Spokane, WA)
Qualifications
Over 40 years of personal hands-on applied experience with all types of native and non-native animal
species. Personally caring for and hand-raising numerous babies of various animal species over the years. Preparing
of and establishing food requirements, training, exhibiting of many species and even health care and knowledge
when assisting facility veterinarian. Sid has provided these particular animals and more with care from infants into
full adulthood; chimpanzees, tigers, lions, bears, wolves, giraffes, zebras, elephants, eagles, hawks, binturongs,
monkeys, orangutans, caracals, servals, lynx, cheetahs, bobcats, leopards, jaguars, mountain lions, badgers,

With 37 Years of major television and motion picture experience on sets with wildlife. Consulting and
animal training for media projects, films, TV commercials, ads, still shoots, live events, displays, educational shows
and wildlife learning centers. Director of animal talent for Amazing Animal Productions, one of
California/Georgia/Louisiana’s finest animal talent companies. Amazing Animal Productions supplies domestic and
exotic animals for film and educational programs. Sid also holds frequent wildlife educational seminars for adults
wanting to further their knowledge on wildlife. Safety is priority while participating in all forms of educational
