Here’s some WBON member feedback: WBON offers the opportunity to learn from one another and develop relationships. Members discuss challenges and triumphs, share questions and resources, and receive invaluable advice from women who have been there and are wiser and more successful for the journey. “WBON goes a long way to lessen the isolation I feel as the sole proprietor of a consulting business.” At the same time, we have fun and maintain a realistic outlook on life and our pursuit of business success. We’re serious about our businesses but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. At the chapter meetings, conferences, expos, and roundtables, members resoundingly affirm that getting to know each other is what truly makes their WBON membership worthwhile. You’re invited to attend up to three chapter meetings to experience WBON before you join. Suzanne D. Stofflet Marketing & Development Consultant, Norwich, VT “WBON members always provide me with the smiles, support and encouragement I need to keep growing and looking forward with excited anticipation to the future.” Christine Tattersall Tattersall’s Clothing Emporium, Rutland, VT “When I first began my business, I needed WBON to validate my existence! Now I continue to value the Chapter Meetings a lot. Thank you, WBON!” Joanna Rueter Home & Office Organizer, Newfane, VT “WBON is a great resource for getting to know ‘who’s doing what’ in the community. I often refer clients to WBON members and use their services myself.” Terry Stone Business Consultant, Colchester, VT “I don’t think you can put a price tag on the good advice, good friends and the great listening I’ve gotten through WBON.” Ruth Slater Slater Computer Services, Spofford, NH Women Business Owners Network (WBON) is Vermont’s statewide association for women business owners. Since 1984, we’ve been offering a forum for members to exchange information and resources in an atmosphere of candor, humor and mutual respect. Our membership now extends into New Hampshire and upstate New York. WBON was created when five Vermont women business owners saw a need to: Encourage and support women who own and operate businesses Encourage the ownership of businesses by women Improve the climate for entrepreneurship and small business Today, women owned businesses are far more common and have access to wider opportunities, but there is as much need as ever to meet—because we are women in business. We thrive when we connect and grow together. Regardless of the size or type of business, women in business are kindred spirits. Our business lives are integral to our personal and family lives. At WBON, we share the joys and strains that being a business owner brings to the whole woman, not just her business self.
