the final weekend of the festival, from 2 pm on Saturday, January 30 to Sunday, January 31 at 12 pm.

Canada Cup of Ice Carving 2017
The Canada Cup of Ice Carving showcases the best of ice carving talent from the Crystal Garden Ice Carving Competition
at Winterlude in Ottawa, Ice Magic in Lake Louise and the Ice on Whyte Festival in Edmonton. The inaugural Canada Cup
of Ice Carving will be held in 2017 as part of the Canadian 150th birthday celebration in Canada’s Capital City of Ottawa.
The Canada Cup will rotate annually between the 3 international ice carving competitions.
The 2016 international ice carving competitions in Ottawa, Lake Louise and Edmonton will be the qualifying
competitions for the inaugural Canada Cup of Ice Carving in 2017. The top scoring team from each competition will get a
guaranteed berth in Ottawa in 2017.
In the case that one team wins more than one competition, their top score will indicate which competition they
represent in 2017 and the 2nd place winner from their next highest scoring event will represent that competition.
Each winning team from the previous year would receive complimentary travel to and from the other two competitions
to the location of the Canada Cup as well as upgraded accommodations at the Canada Cup.
The winner of the Canada Cup of Ice Carving could be any one of the participating teams at the Canada Cup of Ice
Carving and there will be a cash prize awarded to the winner.
Final details on the travel, accommodations and amount of the cash prize will be announced by August 2017 as part of
the competition registration for each event.
