THE CITY OF CAORLE AND THE DISTRICT OF ALTANEA
Caorle
• Caorle is a coastal town in the province of Venice, Veneto, Italy, located between the estuaries of the Livenza and Lemene rivers. It is bathed by
the Adriatic Sea, and it’s located between two other famous tourist towns, Eraclea and Bibione.
• Caorle was founded in the 1st century BC by Romans. Many archeological findings confirm that the city of Caorle preexist the birth of Venice.
• Caorle is a picturesque and fascinating city, where culture, art and leisure all meet in one.
• The beach of Caorle is one of the 6 beaches in the region of Veneto to be awarded the Blue Flag for its beautiful beach and marina.
District of Altanea
• The district of Altanea is part of the territory of Caorle, between Porto Santa Margherita and Duna Verde, just 5 km from the centre of Caorle. It
borders the municipality of Eraclea.
• Characterized by low-rise buildings, gardens, woodland native bush, walking and cycling paths, the district of Altanea is composed of a nucleus of
houses, some hotels and several residences, a campground and some commercial areas with many shops, bars and restaurants.
• The beach extends for about 2.5 km. A wide public park hosts soccer and volleyball fields, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and

• By car: A4 Venezia-Trieste toll way, "S. Stino di Livenza" exit. From S. Stino di Livenza to Caorle there are about 20 Km.
• By train: Venezia-Trieste national railway line. From the railway stations of San Donà di Piave or Portogruaro it takes about 30 minutes drive to
get to the city. A bus service connects the railway station to Caorle.
• By plane: "Marco Polo" airport of Venice is about 55 km from Caorle. "Antonio Canova" airport of Treviso is about 60 km from Caorle. Bus service
connection from the airports to the city is available.
