Bachman’s was founded in 1885 and remains family-owned, with fourth- and fifth-generation Bachman
family members leading the company today. Based in Minneapolis, Bachman’s operates retail locations in
the Twin Cities, including six full-service Floral, Home, and Garden Centers, a floral and card store in U.S. Bank
Plaza (downtown Minneapolis), two Hardscape Centers (Minneapolis and Farmington) and 27 floral departments
within Lunds and Byerly’s grocery stores. The company also operates indoor and outdoor landscaping divisions,
a wedding/special events department, a nursery wholesale division, seven acres of greenhouses, and a
670-acre growing range in Lakeville, Minn., which produces many of the plants, flowers, and
landscaping products sold by Bachman’s today.
In the spring of 1984, Bachman’s opened the Nursery Wholesale Center in Farmington to service the
garden center, nursery and landscaping industries. The continued demand for Bachman’s quality nursery
and landscaping products has driven rapid growth at the Wholesale Center. Our customers come from not only
the metro area, but the surrounding states as well. Landscaping professionals can select a complete line of
nursery stock and hardscapes from our yard. We’re known for providing excellent value through product quality,
professional service and excellent selection. Selections include traditional favorites and new, proven varieties
for our area. We are also a distributor for LiveRoof green roof systems, providing plants and maintenance
for the businesses looking for this innovative concept.
Our wholesale division offers many different career opportunities at one location. We are looking for Sales
Support Staff, Nursery Production/Field Workers, and Shop Helpers. While we have many returning employees
every season, we are looking for team members to assist us in providing the high quality products and service
that Bachman’s is known for. In a typical season, we are in need of employees to begin in early April, and
continue through mid-November. All employees must pass a pre-employment physical.
