FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Randy Bachman returns to Winnipeg for Symphonic Overdrive with WSO Winnipeg, MB – November 26, 2014 – Legendary Winnipeg-‐born rocker Randy Bachman returns to Winnipeg for Randy Bachman’s Symphonic Overdrive, Dec. 5-‐7, in the WSO Air Canada Pops series. Bachman guides audiences through a veritable soundtrack of the last 35 years of popular music, with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO) and Maestro Alexander Mickelthwate. "I am super stoked about presenting my songs in a Symphonic Overdrive setting. It'll be all-‐new grooves and a lot of excitement for myself and the band, including surprises that nobody will be expecting!" said Bachman. Bachman earned his first major success with Winnipeg rock band The Guess Who, when their hit “American Woman” reached #1 on the Billboard charts, a first for any Canadian act. He soared even further with Fred Turner in Bachman-‐Turner Overdrive, which became a musical phenomenon with extraordinary global success and chart-‐topping hits including “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet” and “Looking Out for #1.” Bachman went on to earn over 120 gold and platinum album/singles awards around the world for performing and producing, and has sold over 40 million records. He was recently in Winnipeg for the 2014 JUNO Awards when Bachman-‐Turner Overdrive was inducted into the Canadian Musician's Hall of Fame, marking his second induction; The Guess Who were previously inducted in 2001. Now, for the first time, Randy will perform with the full, sweeping sounds of orchestra. Randy Bachman’s Symphonic Overdrive features a program of his greatest hits including “Let it Ride,” “These Eyes,” “American Woman” (Bossa Nova), “No Sugar Tonight,” “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet,” “Taking Care of Business” and more, coming to life like never before.
