AmeriCU is excited to be able to offer EMV (or chip card) technology on our VISA®
and MasterCard® Credit Card products! This technology gives you the latest in
enhanced security features and makes purchases while traveling internationally
easier than ever.
EMV chip cards add an additional layer of protection to your purchases and protect you against
fraud by making it extremely difficult for the card to be copied or counterfeited. The EMV chip stores
payment information required to authenticate, authorize, and process your transaction and provides
you extra security by encrypting your data when you use it at chip-enabled registers. The EMV chip
does not track or store your purchase history or provide location assistance if lost or stolen. it only
creates an additional layer of fraud protection.
AmeriCU Credit Card holders will receive your new EMV credit card a few weeks before your current
credit card’s expiration date (at natural re-issue). If you would like an EMV credit card sooner than your
natural re-issue date, please contact AmeriCU’s Member Service Center at 1.800.388.2000 or visit your
local Financial Center.

our 2016 Scholarship Program.
In 2016, AmeriCU will award up
to ten $1,000 Scholarships to
members who are either high
school seniors or continuing
college students. To become
eligible to receive a scholarship,
submit your application today.
Applications are now being
accepted and forms are available

offices. To be eligible, completed
applications must be received no
later than February 1, 2016. The
Scholarship Program is open to
all primary members* who will
attend an accredited college,
university or other institution
of higher learning on a full-time
basis during the next academic
school year.

We’re Making Miracles on International Credit Union
Day - October 15, 2015.

A Run for THEIR Life includes a 1.5K Victory Walk, 5K walk and run and a 15K

proceeds go directly to SUNY Upstate Medical University Cancer Research
Department by the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund, the goal of

AmeriCU is Sponsor of the 8th Annual CNY Veterans Parade and Expo. The purpose of
this event is to thank our Veterans of every generation and conflict with an emphasis
on military history. The Expo features a Breakfast for the Brave, Show Your Stripes Job
Fair, GI JOE Exhibit and CNY Warrior Fitness Challenge as well as a kids area and several
vendors. The parade begins at noon and resembles the old-fashioned military style
parades that featured military vehicles, local military units, Veterans of Foreign War
