REPLACEMENT LAMP FOR JVC ® LCD REAR PROJECTION TELEVISION

USER INSTRUCTIONS
. CAUTION:
Do not attempt to remove the lamp immediately after use; doing so can cause serious burns. Prior to removing lamp, switch
off the power supply to the television and wait approximately 60 minutes or more to allow for complete lamp cooling.
. Avoid touching the glass portion(s) of the lamp with bare hands; fingerprints, dirt and dust may cause early lamp failure
and/or image obscurity. It is recommended that gloves be worn when replacing the lamp.
. When transporting the replacement lamp, use the box that is provided to avoid breakage.
WARNING:
. To avoid overheating and/or fire, ensure that the replacement lamp is mounted securely.
. The lamp contains mercury. Dispose of it in accordance with local environmental regulations. For disposal or
recycling information, contact your local authorities or see www.lamprecycle.org.
REPLACING THE LAMP
IF YOUR LAMP DOOR IS LOCATED BELOW ON THE LEFT SIDE OF YOUR TELEVISION, SKIP STEPS 2, 3, 10 AND 11.
1. Switch off power to the television and wait until the picture disappears and the LAMP LED on the front panel has
stopped blinking. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Allow the television to cool for at least 1 hour.
2. Remove the screw from the rear panel using your fingers.
The screw is located under the right rear panel.

3. Remove the left speaker panel located at the bottom of the front panel and set aside.
Note: There are two ways to remove the panel, depending on the television type. Please refer to your television’s
instruction manual to determine which type you have. You will remove the panel by either pulling it towards you, or by
pulling it from the left towards you.

4. Remove the lamp cover and set aside. (First, loosen the screw located on the lamp cover using your fingers or a Philips
screwdriver. Once the screw has been loosened, gently pull the knob towards you and the panel will come away from the
television.)
Note: There are three ways to remove the lamp cover, depending on the television type. Please refer to your television’s
instruction manual to determine which type you have.

5. Loosen the two screws securing the lamp unit
using a Philips screwdriver.
6. Remove the lamp unit from the television by
raising the handle and pulling it straight out.
Dispose of lamp in accordance with local
environmental regulations.
7. Insert the new lamp unit by holding the lamp by the
finger pulls and sliding the new lamp straight into the
television, paying attention to the orientation and
direction of insertion. Ensure that the new unit is
firmly seated.
Note: To avoid shortened lamp life and/or reduced
picture quality, do not touch the glass portion of the
new lamp.
8. Tighten the two screws firmly on the new lamp
unit, taking care not to overtighten.
9. Replace the lamp cover in the same manner as it was
removed in Step 4. Tighten the screw using your
fingers or a Philips screwdriver.
10. Replace the left speaker panel in the same
manner as it was removed in Step 3.
11. Replace the screw on the rear panel using your
fingers.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and
turn on the power.
12. Reset the lamp timer by using the LAMP TIMER
RESET menu on your television.
