installation instructions
installation: frame
This fixture is
listed, suitable for use in a fire rated ceiling, and should be installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code and local regulations.
WARNING: Do not install ceiling insulation within 3 inches of fixture sides nor above fixture in such a way to entrap heat.
Select a location in the ceiling where
•the ceiling material is 1 1/8” or less and capable of supporting a weight of 14 pounds along
the rim of the hole, and
•the recess depth is 6 5/16” or more from the finished ceiling line.
Cut a 5 1/8” diameter hole into the ceiling and bring service wires to a point adjacent to hole.
•Disassemble housing from frame by removing two hex nuts. Save nuts for
re-assembly.
•Insert the frame into hole and insert the two brackets into the slots in each
arm of the frame.
Hold the frame up so that the flange makes contact with the underside of the ceiling and, while
supporting the frame
•push a bracket down its slot until it presses against the top side of the ceiling
•tighten the bracket screw.
Repeat the process for the second bracket.
wiring
This fixture is
listed and approved for 90°C branch circuit wiring.
•Pull service wires through frame aperture.
•Remove inner cover of the splice compartment by releasing spring.
•Splice the black service wire to the black lead.
•Splice the white service wire to the set of white leads.
•Splice the green service wire to the green lead.
•Do not disturb the blue lead splices.
•Put wire nuts on all open splices.
•Snap junction box cover back into place.
installation: splice compartment, housing and reflector
Prepare housing by pivoting the lamp holder down so
that it allows for easiest access into the housing.
•Insert splice compartment through aperture, position it so tab aligns
with slot in frame, and lower splice
compartment so that tab enters slot
and clicks into place.
•Insert housing through aperture and
position it so that studs in top of the
frame pass through holes in the top of
the housing.
•Tighten hex nuts onto studs.
•Line up reflector side notch with guide
bracket of fixture.
•Push reflector, slowly and evenly, into
fixture.

After lamping and lamp adjustment (see reverse side)
and when the area is clean, install reflector.

PRESTO ANGLUX MR/4
Install an MR-16 12-volt lamp (50-watt maximum):
• Lower lamp holder by pulling down side opposite the hinge.
• Locate socket and lead in housing. Insert lamp pins into socket.
• Slide lamp into place between lamp springs.
• Raise lamp holder to original position by pushing up on side
opposite the hinge until it snaps back into place.
To minimize socket/lamp problems, we recommend the use of lamps
by GE, Sylvania, Philips or Ushio.
PRESTO ANGLUX AR/4
Install an AR-70 12-volt lamp (50-watt maximum):
• Lower lamp holder by pulling down side opposite the hinge.
• Locate socket and lead within housing. Connect lamp to
socket.
• Angle lamp into lamp ring; slide lamp into place under lamp
ring.
• Raise lamp holder to original position by pushing up on side
opposite the hinge until it snaps back into place.
adjustment
• Adjust rotation of lamp by grasping the lamp holder and twisting. If action is difficult, loosen rotation screw. When adjustment is complete, tighten rotation
screw by hand or lock in place using 9/64” Allen wrench.
• Adjust tilt of lamp by grasping the lamp holder and tilting it. If action is difficult, loosen tilt screw. When adjustment is complete, tighten tilt screw by hand
or lock in place using 9/64” Allen wrench.
Presto Anglux MR/4 and Presto Darklite MR/4 protective glass
It is necessary that MR-16 lamps be operated behind a protective glass lamp guard. The glass shipped with the fixture, or any Edison Price Lighting Optical Accessory
(see below), should be used for this purpose. MR/16 lamps with integral cover glass require no protective glass lamp guard.
optical accessories
Optional Optical Accessories – including spread lenses, color filters, beam smoothers and UV filters – are available for use in Presto Anglux and Presto
Darklite fixtures. Insert the Accessory between the Glass Holder Spring and the underside of the Lamp Holder (see above). Note: Presto Anglux MR/4 and
Presto Darklite MR/4 include a protective glass; remove it before inserting an Optical Accessory.
reflector maintenance
The reflector and the glass accessories may be cleaned of dust with a damp, soft lint-free cloth. To remove fingerprints or dirt, wash with a solution of dishwashing
detergent and water, rinse, and dry with a soft lint-free cloth. Avoid wiping when reflector surface is dry.
Prestina
installation instructions
IMPORTANT
Prestina luminaires and fixtures are intended for use in a sheetrock ceiling.
Install the housing as shown on the enclosed (white) Installation Instructions.
Coordinate with the ceiling contractor to ensure that ceiling is finished as shown below.
Ceiling contractor: Secure spackle screen to sheetrock
with ¾” sheetrock screws.
Secure edges of spackle screen to sheetrock with selfadhesive fiberglass drywall joint tape.
Apply two coats of drywall compound, sanding between
coats. Be careful to leave the center of the protective
disc free of compound.

Electrical contractor: When Prestina housing is installed,
the spackle screen should be touching the sheetrock at
all points.

Final sanding should leave the rim of the TF Ring exposed.

Remove protective disc by insering a screw driver or other sharp tool into the hole in disc and prying downward.
Make sure that the interior rim of the TF Ring is free of
compound (see detail).
Prime and paint.

fixture aperture.
