Borrow from all BC public libraries Your library card lets you borrow materials from any public library in the province with a BC OneCard. Find out how to get a BC OneCard at www.bclibraries.ca. Guide to your Library Use your free library card at any of our 39 library branches and browse our collection, explore our eLibrary or access our online catalogue to find and request materials. How long you can borrow materials • Standard loan period – 3 weeks (21 days) • CDs – 3 weeks (21 days) • DVDs – 1 week (7 days) • Book Club sets – 6 weeks (42 days) • High Demand items – 1 or 2 weeks (7 or 14 days) • Express Reads – 1 week (7 days) • eBooks/eAudiobooks – 3 weeks (21 days) Special loan periods are provided for Homebound customers and registered audiobook print-disabled customers. Special loan periods are also provided for customers who qualify for our Books by Mail service. Renewals You may renew materials twice – online, by phone or in person. If someone else has requested an item, you will not be able to renew. How to renew materials • Online – Connect to My VIRL at www.virl.bc.ca. • By Phone – Call 1.888.988.8475 within our service area. We will call you when: • Requests are available for pickup. • An item is overdue 2, 10, 18 day(s) after the item was due.
