Each morning, truenorth stores across Ohio are asking themselves the question: Are we truenorth ready? What does this mean? It means that we are ready for the day and each cus‐
tomer receives a great first impression! Shelves are stocked, counters are clean, product is neatly placed where it should be, restrooms are clean and stocked with essentials, garbage cans are empty, signage is current and more. ERIC MICHEL, Store Manager

Reginald “Eric” Michel was born in Ghana, West Africa, in 1958. He came to this country in 1997
for a visit before deciding to stay in 1999. He has 4 children ages 23, 15, 8, and 6. The children
currently reside in Ghana with the mother. His oldest child is
currently in college studying social science.
While in Ghana, Eric earned the equivalent to our Associates Degree
in Accounting in 1989. He attended Kumasi Polytecnic College.
Eric joined truenorth in November of 2006 and currently
manages our Lockbourne store. Some of Eric’s accomplishments
include a zero turnover rate in 2009!
Lockbourne did not see 100%’s during CVP
inspections until Eric came on board.
Eric is of great credit to himself, the Lockbourne store, and to truenorth.

CAVS CHEERLEADERS PUMP IT UP IN CLEVELAND
The cars were lined up early on June 30th at Carnegie & E. 30th in Cleveland to be a part of the Gas Giveaway sponsored by
Kia Motors & the Cleveland Cavaliers. Not only was Moon Dog (Cavaliers mascot) there, the Cleveland Cavaliers Cheerleaders
were there to help pump the gas! Owner Omar Ziad and Manager Arshad Gheith (pictured at left) were on hand to greet the
customers and keep the line moving (with the help of the Cleveland Police Dept.!) Each customer could get a maximum of $25
worth of gas and they were able to service approximately 100 vehicles in the one hour promotion! Great job!

Bill Koehler— Dealer #1916

Bill started at his current location in Waukegan as a Mechanic / Manager in 1981. He took over
the location as a dealer in 1993. Bill is recognized as one of the best dealers in the Chicago market with
an outstanding image in the community and great customer service every day. Bill runs a “ Wild
Wednesday “ promotion where he discounts Plus and V-Power by 5 c.p.g. every Wednesday. Volume on
these days is about double what he does on a usual day! It makes sense that Bill also has won numerous awards from Shell over the years.
Community involvement is also a big part of Bill Koehler’s resume. Bill has worked with
Maryville Academy for several years donating both time and money. Maryville Academy provides a
home and opportunities for continuous education for abused children in the Chicagoland area. Shell
and Shell Dealers sponsor an annual golf outing to benefit Maryville, and Bill helps to coordinate this
event. He also works with Father Smith’s “Standing Tall” Foundation which provides funds for education for kids who would not be able to afford to go on to college.
We’re happy to have Bill as a part of the truenorth family of dealers.
And the
winner is...
With a catchy campaign slogan of “What is it about the
Green ones?” combined with the effort by the Youngstown stores, Green was a shoe-in to win the
M & M Contest both at truenorth and nationally!
The display contest showed some creativity by many of
the truenorth employees and the sales increase of
292% over the same period last year showed that
truenorth loves its M & M’s, and not just the green
ones! Congratulations to the following stores on

Store #119 in Conneaut, Ohio was selected as the April, 2010 winner of the “Good Neighbor”
Award! The award presented by “Project Pride” selects businesses that have made a good
impression in the area by making physical improvements or keeping their property
attractive. Congratulations to the team in Conneaut!
The White Glove Inspectors hit the streets this past month and took a swipe
at all the stores with quite impressive results! All zones achieved a score of
98% or higher!
The winning Zone Manager for 2010 with a score of 99.1% is Helen Rivera!
Congratulations Helen and to all the employees in her zone who make their
stores truenorth ready!
