APRIL 2016
A NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Happy Spring! I hope everyone is enjoying some nice weather outside with their
families. Soon enough, the smell of fresh cut grass will be in the air.
We only have a few months left and this is a really busy time of year for the PTO. I hope
you are able to come and support our upcoming events.

First, I would like to thank Mindy Svec for stepping up and coordinating our Family Fun
Night. You did a great job, Mindy! Thank you to Ashley Pantano for taking care of our
donations for the Lehman Center. Great idea! Thank you to all who made
donations. Thank you, Jill Laughman, for counting all of the donations for Penny Wars
and taking care of the prizes! Great job, as always! Thank you, Nicki Herdson, for all of
your hard work with the Wolfgang Candy fundraiser and the spirit nights held
throughout the year! Thank you to Jen Baumgartner for coordinating the Bus Driver
Appreciation Breakfast. Our PTO could not be a success without our wonderful
volunteers.
Coming up this month are some fun events. Our first ever Pottery Nights will be held
with Mrs. Lehman (these required preregistration and the nights are currently full). We
also have a spirit night at Isaac’s Deli (please see the flyer on the last page). We’ll also
be planning for our end of year activities. Please consider volunteering where you can.
We still need a chairperson for next year for our Holiday Breakfast with Santa. If you
are interested, please contact me and let me know.
Our April PTO meeting will be held on Monday, April 4, at 7:00 p.m. in the
library. Please consider attending. At this meeting we will be voting for our 2016-2017
PTO Officers. Nominations can be accepted up until the time of the meeting. If you are
interested, please contact Mindy Svec.
I hope to see you at the next meeting!

NEWS
Fundraising News
Penny Wars
Thanks to everyone who came to Spirit Night
at Chipotle on March 15. The event raised
$605.65 for the school!
Congratulations to the 2nd grade class for
winning our annual penny wars with a total of
$217.40! Together, the students raised $571.14
toward future scholarships for their class!
A special thanks to a wonderful team of
volunteers who helped to sort and process the
nearly 1,500 items that were part of our
Wolfgang Candy order. And, thanks to the
volunteers who helped with the candy pick-up
process. This fundraiser would not have been a
success without the support of a great team of
people including Katy Breault, Alison Federline,
Melissa Kenyi, Megan McGlauglin, Heidi
Millard-Lewis, Shannon Reid, Sarah Provenson,
Jenn Salla, Christa Smith, and Jodi Snyder.
And thanks to Mrs. Mohar, Mr. Carl, and all of
the staff for all of their support of our
fundraisers this year!
Lehman Center Children’s
Aid Society Collection
The Caring and Sharing Committee would like to
thank everyone for the donations for the Pajama
Drive benefiting the Lehman Center. It was a great
success! Thank you for your generosity!
COMING SOON: A New Slide Structure!
As many of you already know, two of our oldest sliding
boards were removed last summer due to safety
regulations. Thanks to everyone’s support, the
students will have a new slide
structure very soon!
Our new slide structure will feature
two double racing slides at two different
heights. It also includes a fire escape ladder
and an ADA compliant staircase so that all
children can enjoy playing on it!
Many thanks to everyone who
supported our fundraisers this year!
