30 September, Tuesday- Day 1:
Culture trip
Arrival in Bucharest
If time allows short city tour, and for dinner
we will enjoy a wine tasting and dinner plus a
presentation about Romanian wines, vineries and
have the chance to talk to a professional somelier.

01 October, Wednesday- Day 2:
Bucharest - Peles and Bran Castle - Brasov

After breakfast, departure to the Carpathians. On the
way we will visit Peles Castle in Sinaia (the summerresidence of the Romanian kings, at the foot of the
high Carpathians - the most beautiful of Eastern
Europe).
Lunch and sparkling wine tasting in Rhein &
Azuga Cellars, that were recognized between the
World Wars as “The Supplier of the Royal Court of
Romania” and here you will discover the story of an
unbelievable sparkling wine.
At the famous Dracula’s Castle
from Bran lots of tourists hope to
see for a second the shadow of
the feared vampire. This fortified
Castle, designed in the Gothic
style (14th century) and located
on the top of a rock in the pass
between the Bucegi and Piatra
Craiului Mountains was used
during the middle Ages as a
defence against the Ottomans
raids.

02 October, Thursday- Day 3:
Brasov - Fagaras - Sighisoara

Early departure for Sighisoara, the most beautiful
medieval citadel from Eastern Europe. On the way we
will visit Fagaras fortress, Cincusor, Cincu and Agnita
Fortified Churches.
Special lunch in Fagaras where we will taste Romanian
dishes made by old recipies.
Arrival in Sighisoara and city tour. Sighisoara was for
several centuries a military and political stronghold.
City highlights include: the Clock Tower (Council
Tower), built in the 14th Century, Vlad the Impaler
(Dracula) House, Wooden Covered Staircase, Hill
Church, etc. Enjoy a short walking tour, see the
famous birthplace house of Vlad the Impaler or simply
Dracula, ruler of Walachia from 1456 to 1462. It was
Vlad who inspired Bram Stoker’s fictional creation,
Count Dracula.

03 October, Friday- Day 4:
Sighisoara - Neamt Monastery - Iasi

After breakfast, we will continue our way through the
impressive sheer limestone walls of the Bicaz Gorges
in the Eastern Carpathian Mountains to the Monastery
of Neamt, the most important monk Monastery in
Moldova. Before getting to the monastery we will enjoy
the ride along the Bicaz Lake - one of the most scenic
roads in the country, and make a nice picnic for lunch.
Late afternoon we will get to Iasi, the most important
historical, economic, and cultural center in Northeast
Romania. City tour and visit of the the Metropolitan
Cathedral, Culture Palace, Golia Monastery, Trei Ierarhi
Church etc. The city was the capital of Moldavia from
the 16th century until 1861 and of Romania (Romanian
Kingdom) between 1916-1918 during World War I.
In the evening! Surprise!! in a monk monastery we will
enjoy a blessed wine... and have the opportunity to
hear Byzantine church music sang by a student’s choir
from the Theological University of Iasi.

04 October, Saturday- Day 5:
Iasi - Soroca - Tipova

Departure around 9:00 to Republic of Moldova.
We start our trip to Soroca town known for its sizable
Roma minority. But before getting there we will stop in
a special village famous for producing Smoke-dried
pork dishes and sausages. These were earlier products
exported by Moldova and there were special people
called “butchers” who were in charge of preparing
jambon, pastrama and ham. We will learn how these
products are done, see how people smoke the meat
and even have the possibility to enjoy a lunch based on
these specialities.
On arrival to Soroca you’ll visit the fortress which is the
unique monument of defensive architecture of Europe.
Then we’ll drive to the Roma’ district of Soroca famous
by its “Posh” palaces. Here you’ll have a tremendous
possibility to visit a family in order to get familiarized
with the Roma’ way of life.
Further departure to Japca Monastery, known for
being the only monastery in Moldova not to be closed
during the Soviet Period and Tipova Monastery, one of
the most visited sites located on a rocky bank of the
Dniester River. It is a wonderful complex of historical
monuments and natural landscapes that affects by its
pure beauty; it is an “isle” of the untouched nature of
Moldova. The monastery complex consists of 15 caves
on the dizzying height in the middle of a huge rock.
An active monastery is located in the upper part of the
complex, but the cave complex remains attractive for
both pilgrims and tourists.

05 October, Sunday- Day 6:
Tipova - Chateau Vartely - Old Orhei

After breakfast departure to Chateau Vartely, to visit the
wine complex and have a coffee or a wine tasting....
This winery is considered one of the best Moldovan
wineries from the Center of our Republic.
We will continue with lunch in a peasant house and
visit to Old Orhei - a museum complex that presents
the remains of different civilizations established
between the Nistru and Prut rivers.
Arrival in the capital of Moldova and city tour, during
which we will also enjoy the Wine Festival. Nearly 100
wineries, thousands of visitors, including tourists from
all around the world gather on this day in the central

the Golden Horde called Shehr-al Gedid (XIII-XIVc.), an
Orthodox cave monastery called “St. Maria Dormata”

Before getting to Chisinau, the capital of Republic

1 million vintage wines, including French, Italian,
and Spanish wines, and samples from many other
countries.

that commemorates the name of Moldova’s greatest
king Stefan cel Mare: The Organ Hall (in the past
was the City Bank), Chisinau City hall, the Cathedral

06 October, Monday- Day 7:
Gagauzia - Victory Colhoz - Purcari winery

After breakfast you will be taken to Comrat, capital of
Gagauzia. The Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauzia, a
region consisting of 4 noncontiguous parts, is situated
in the south of Moldova with 150.000 inhabitants.
The tour about Comrat includes: the Monument
dedicated to the Afghanistan Heroes, the Monument of
Lenin, the Cathedral “Saint John”, the Turkish Library,
“Bashkanat” - the Government building etc.
Next stop - visit to “Victory

colhoz” - a type of run
by state farm, have lunch, and experience the old
communist life. It was founded in 1947 and now is the
leader in producing and exporting fruits and vegetables
in the southern area of Moldova. It is the only surviving
collective farm after the collapse of USSR.

Afternoon departure to Purcari winery, the best one in
south-eastern part of Moldova. The Purcari wines were
ordered to the tables of historic figures as the Russian
Emperor Nikolay II, British King George V and British
Queen Victoria.

07 October, Tuesday- Day 8:
Transnistria region

Today we invite you to discover TIRASPOL (capital
of Transnistria) - the old USSR is still alive and well
in Transnistria. It is a breakaway territory within the
internationally recognised borders of Moldova.
Here we will enjoy a traditional ukranian lunch.
During the city tour we will stop at different monuments
in the city and if time permits - visit to the Museum
dedicated to the Transnistrian conflict.
Transfer airport/Bucharest and departure home.
