Skagit Valley College
Coach Calles is entering his fifth season as
head coach for the Skagit Valley Cardinals.
The 2015 season ended with an 8-4 region
record (24-16 Overall) and an appearance in at
the NWAC Championship.
The team’s motto is “Work Hard, Play Harder,
Compete Always” and is representative of the
team’s attitude towards volleyball and life. Our
success is not graded by wins and losses, but
whether we “stayed in the moment” and
competed.
Coach Calles is always striving to grow as a
coach, husband, father, grand-father, and
person. When he is not sharing his passion
with the Lady Cardinals, he can be found
in the Anacortes Community where he enjoys
working as a Para-educator and working many
His passion for volleyball has provided him opportunities work with USA Volleyball’s High
Performance, Puget Sound High Performance,
and Sound Premier Professional Team. He is
also the Club Director for Skagit-Island
Volleyball Academy (SIVA).

2-5 August 2016 (9 p.m.-4 p.m.)
Looking to prepare for tryouts? This camp is for
upcoming middle and high school players
wanting to make a positive impression during
tryouts. Day 1 and 2 will focus on individual and
positional development. On Day 3 and 4, players
will compete in a variety of games and settings.

Cardinals Mini - Prep Camp ($100) 17-19 August 2016 (4 p.m.-9 p.m.)
This evening camp gives players one more
opportunity to prepare for tryouts in a fun fast
pace competitive environment. Players will
learn to compete through a variety of competition
formats and receive feed-forward information in
preparation for high school season.
