The September meeting will also see the release of the “Long Island 2015 Local Infrastructure Investment Outlook.” This is
an industry “bible” designed to provide economic assessments from industry leaders on what the future may hold. LICA is
also asking municipalities to publish their infrastructure plans and budgets in the guide so that LICA members may study
those plans in depth for the purpose of developing an appropriate response.
For more information on this event, please click here. If you are interested in attending and/or would like to place
an advertisement in LICA’s Local Infrastructure Investment Outlook guide book, please contact LICA’s Manager of
Communications Michelle Giametta at [email protected]. All town project advertisements for the guide must
be submitted on or before September 5.
LICA’s Bove Industries Reinventing
a Much Traveled Intersection
LICA member Bove Industries, Inc.
continues to play an integral role in
the reconstruction of County Road 3
that includes significant intersection
improvements at Ruland Road/Colonial
Springs Road in Melville just outside the
offices of Newsday.
The Suffolk County Department of
Public Works (SCDPW) initiated the
project because they found that, based
on current levels of traffic, this segment of
the county road was not adequate to meet
the needs of the motoring public. Over
the years significant economic growth has
occurred along its corridor, creating new
jobs and investments. That in turn has
mandated the need for improvements and
road realignments.
Bove Industries was started in 1985 by the
owner and current President/CEO Louis
J. Bove. Located in East Setauket, the
company has developed over the years
into a major site-work and heavy/highway
contractor on Long Island and in New
York City. While best known for public and
private construction work, during the past
two years the firm has also begun work in
the specialized field of directional drilling.

insurance, arrange transportation or pay for temporary housing to allow families to remain close during these tough times,
