An Autonomous Underwater Vehicle
(“AUV”) is a specialized robotic vehicle
used to map the seabed in great detail

The AUV is deployed from a vessel and
under it‟s own control flies along a
predetermined path at a constant height
above the seabed.

Sensors map both the seabed profile and
the geology of the seabed
