Argentina -
an authentic Gaucho riding experience
12 nights from 5 to 17 February 2015
USD $6,895 per person twin share, land only ex Buenos Aires
Join Jakob von Plessen on an Argentinean experience like no other, riding the
‘arm chair travellers' of the horse world - the trusty Creole breed, through the
stunning Andean mountain scenery in Patagonia.
You will spend 5 days at Estancia Tres Lagos, a privately owned estancia of
12,000 hectares situated at the shores of Lake Filo Huahum. Here you will
witness all aspects of the ranch from cattle farming to red stag hunting and
spend your days with the gauchos exploring picturesque valleys, riding over
mountain passes and around this ‘Lake District’ region enjoying life as the local
farmers do.
From there you’ll venture back the von Plessen’s private home, Estancia El
Boqueron, for four days of riding. The estancia is an equestrian paradise
complete with a cross country course and a private polo field, where you can
enjoy thoroughbreds, stick to the faithful Creoles, try a chukka of polo or just
hack out through the beautiful countryside exploring the neighboring Estancias.
With stunning accommodation, a pool, acres of manicured gardens and a cosy
bar and library it offers real luxury where you can totally relax and soak up the
way of life.
This trip is an incredibly rare opportunity to ride at such an exclusive familyowned property and with Jakob as your local host, you couldn’t wish for a
better way to experience rural life in Argentina. The first three nights of the trip
will be spent exploring Buenos Aires and all the city has to offer.
