The name of the Trinity is, without a
doubt, the most familiar sacred name
to us. We speak it every time we make
the sign of the cross, and it forms the
heart of our Creed. Trinity Sunday is a
good day, however, to stop and reflect
on the unique role of each of the three persons we name
so often in the Trinity and in our own lives. When we
celebrate the Eucharist on Sunday, we come together as
the Body of Christ through our baptism, and through the
power of the Holy Spirit we offer the whole prayer of the
Mass to God the Father. This presence of the Trinity does
not stop when we leave church on Sunday. We are—
always and everywhere—members of the Body, and every
thing we do as members of that Body is empowered by the
Holy Spirit, all of it offered to the glory of our loving
Father.
Take a moment each day this week to reflect on how the
persons of the Trinity were present to you during the day,
and how other people came to see the presence of the
Trinity in your witness to the Good News.

~Reflection~
Have you ever noticed the sign that people hold up during televised sporting events that says “John 3:16”? This is the
biblical reference to today’s Gospel passage: “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who
believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.” Christians hold this sign because it describes the act of
God that transformed creation for all time. When we believe in Christ, we are saved from perishing—we are promised
eternal life. On this Trinity Sunday, rather than trying to figure out the mystery of the Trinity, why not focus on praising
and thanking God for the gift of salvation in Christ Jesus? Today’s responsorial psalm does just that. The refrain comes
from the book of Deuteronomy: “Glory and praise for ever!” As we lift up our hearts and voices in prayer this day, and
as we prepare to listen to the readings, let us be filled with joy at the power that God’s actions have to transform and
save us.

El nombre de la Trinidad es,
sin duda, el nombre más sagrado

nuestro Credo. Sin embargo, el
Domingo de la Trinidad es un buen día, para detenernos
y reflexionar sobre el papel que cada una de las tres
personas que mencionamos tanto en la Trinidad y en
nuestras vidas. Cuando celebramos la Eucaristía los
domingos, nos reunimos como el Cuerpo de Cristo
mediante nuestro bautismo, y mediante el poder del
Espíritu Santo ofrecemos la oración de la Misa a Dios
Padre. Esta presencia de la Trinidad no cesa cuando
dejamos la iglesia los domingos. Somos – siempre y en
todas partes– miembros del Cuerpo, y todo lo que
hacemos como miembros de ese Cuerpo recibe poder del
Espíritu Santo, y todo se ofrece para la gloria de nuestro
Padre amoroso.
Saca un momento cada día esta semana para
reflexionar sobre cómo las personas de la Trinidad

~Reflexión~
¿Te has fijado alguna vez en el letrero que la gente trae a los juegos televisados, que dice: “Juan 3:16”? Éste se
refiere al pasaje bíblico que encontramos en el Evangelio de hoy: “Tanto amó Dios al mundo, que le entregó a su Hijo
único, para que todo el que crea en él no perezca, sino que tenga la vida eterna”. Los cristianos portamos este letrero,
porque describe la obra de Dios, que transformó la creación para siempre. Creer en Cristo nos salva de perecer, pues
se nos promete la vida eterna. En este domingo de la Santísima Trinidad, en vez de tratar de comprender el misterio de
la Trinidad, ¿por qué no enfocarnos mejor en alabar y dar gracias a Dios por el don de la salvación en Cristo Jesús?
El salmo responsorial de hoy hace precisamente eso. La respuesta está tomada del libro del Deuteronomio: “Bendito
seas por siempre, Señor”. Al levantar nuestro corazón y nuestras voces para orar en este día, y preparándonos para
escuchar las lecturas, llenémonos de gozo por el poder que las obras de Dios tienen para transformarnos y salvarnos.

SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM: The Sacrament of Baptism is
administered monthly. Arrangements are made in advance at
the Rectory. Sponsors must provide proof of eligibility by a
letter from their respective pastors, and must have received the
Sacraments of Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation.
Parents attend a Pre-Jordan meeting prior to baptism, which is
arranged at a mutually convenient time.
SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE: Arrangements must be
made with a priest at least six months before the date of the
wedding. Pre-Cana instructions are required.
