AARHUS – A CITY FOR PROGRESS
From August 2012 Aarhus Municipality
initiates major road restructuring project
along Kystvejen.
The aim is to build a new public library,
uncover the remaining part of the river of
Aarhus and establish climate protection
of the city centre. In the same area a light
rail will be built.
The many construction projects along
Kystvejen in Aarhus may seem very
confusing, but one project will follow
another, like pearls on a string, and
provides the foundation for the next to
begin.
In 2015 after the construction period
the conditions for both pedestrians and
cyclists will be greatly improved, and it
will be much easier to get from the city

RINGVEJEN
centre of Aarhus to the new part of
town, the Docklands. In this way there
will be a far better link between the city
and the water.
After completion of the entire project
the harbour area will be much more
than new buildings and spaces. – It will
be a completely new part of Aarhus for
the benefit of all citizens and visitors.
