alaysian billionaire Dato Tan Chin
Nam has listed Think Big Stud,
his 122 hectare Bowral property.
It has been listed through Inglis Rural
Property agents Sam Triggs and Jamie
Inglis, who seek between $18 million and
$20 million. Think Big Stud is located on the
banks of the Wingecarribee River. The
property, once known as Inverness Stud,
has undergone significant agricultural
and capital upgrades to emerge as one of
the feature boutique stallion operations
in NSW. It has been used to spell or
breed winners of four Melbourne Cups,
two Caulfield Cups, two Vinery Stud
Stakes, two ATC Flight Stakes, two Cox
Plates, and even the Prince of Wales
Stakes in England. The original property
was purchased in late 2006 for $3.525
million with surrounding properties
bought on the winnings of horse races. N
ormandie Park in Exeter has been
listed with $4.9 million hopes
through Drew Lindsay agent John
Ross. It has been offered by Leo and Joan
Shanahan who have owned it since 2000.
The 83 hectare farm comes with an early
Allen Jack+Cottier designed home dating
from 1962 set in prize-winning gardens.
The home has four linked pavilions plus
a separate studio pavilion linked by a
walkway. There is also a three bedroom
farm manager’s cottage. The property

to the Liu family. The 6245sqm

Lindsay Real Estate. All of the home’s

a media room, office and two gourmet
kitchens. The property comes with a one
bedroom guest cottage and pavilion with
spa and steam room.

of Michele Scamps, the Arnott’s biscuit
family descendant, and her husband,

$4.075 million sale. Set on 10 hectares,
the Peter Stronach-designed residence is
surrounded by low maintenance Nicholas

to the Blue Mountains.

for $1.625 million after just nine
days on the market. The property
was sold by the Keirnan family who
bought the property for $1.25 million
in 1998. Set next to a lake on 5909sqm
of landscaped gardens, the home has
four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a
Cheminees Philippe wood fire. Margaret
McCauley of Margaret McCauley Real
Estate Bowral secured the snappy sale.

Sally Kean, has been sold to the
Chiba family for $4.8 million. Luke
Kean, general manager at YourShare
Financial Services, and Sally, a former
state dressage champion, bought Carinya
in 2008 for $4.4 million from liquor
store owners John and Penny Lawless.
They expanded the stables significantly
to create a base for their European
Dressage Horses business, including a
stable complex designed by architect
Ken Latona. The Keans were the buyers
of Ripley, the six-bedroom French
farmhouse at Burradoo.

Robert Matar and his wife Jessica
have secured Bowral’s Kintyre
House. The five bedroom house has a
home cinema, office, gym and cellar. Set
on two hectares with native plantings,
the garden includes an infinity pool,
pool pavilion and tennis court. There’s
been no price disclosure from Drew
Lindsay agent John Ross, however he
did have reduced $2.95 million hopes.
The property was sold by John Scanlan
and his wife Annalise, daughter of arts
patron Ann Lewis, who had owned
the property since their $2.75 million
purchase in 2006.

of $2.65 million to $2.9 million by
